Music starting from scratch with every wave of a battle

I'm pretty sure that this was different before, but since I play mostly muted, it only occurred to me about a week ago:
Whenever you've defeated a stage in a battle, the music is restarted and you only ever hear the first 3 or 4 seconds if you have a strong team that one-shots each wave.
