I'm new to the game, and am curious about how Trooper Badges work. Do I have to actually fight with a friend's Trooper for them to get Badges? Or is it enough to just have them on my team?

If your Trooper is an Eddie, just being him along (2nd or 3rd slot). If your Trooper is an ally you'll have to use him in one of the 2 ally slots.

yeah, you have to play your troopers to get 25 badges and you have to be played from your trooper to get additional 25 badges.
especially if you are new i would highly reccomend that you put an eddie as trooper, so that we can simply play him as passanger.
