So, I figured maybe it was my phone, but the forum here seems to have lots of reports of the game crashing ridiculously frequently.

Look, making a game is hard, we get it. It might crash sometimes, fine.

But if your game crashes all the time, don't consume resources when it crashes. Yeah, sure, a few people might try to force close to save a losing match, and you want to prevent that. Sure, but the game isn't high enough reliability for that. The other 99.9% of people are getting hosed by the resource consumption on crashes.

Should be an easy fix to consume resources on event completion rather than initiation.

I mean, I haven't bought anything in the shop for cash, so I'm not an actual customer... but I can't see myself becoming one if whatever resources I purchase are likely to be partially lost in a game crash.

The counter to this is that if someone is losing a PVP match they can just turn their wifi off and reset their resources...

That's only a "counter" if the app isn't broken/unreliable.

Practically, in a game with only a few thousand players, do you care more about 5 people cheating (which you could detect pretty easily anyways), or new player attrition due to app quality? Although reading this board, it appears that they aren't particularly concerned with attrition even of old players.
