Since I've been on the forums I have noticed the great majority doing things quite differently to the way I have traditionally done things pre forum days.

For instance if I received a soul I would always open it and then if not required would instantly sacrifice it.
I use to keep my gold stash sitting around the 1 million + mark.
I always rank up any wanted toons to 5* 100 immediately.

So I realise not everyone is the same but there are a few things that everyone should do in a certain manner to get the best results.

Later this month there is another sacrificial event, this time I'm prepared, I have been saving virtually every soul that I acquire, I have not dropped them in the book yet (damn it's tempting though).

What I want to know is how do other people deal with the everyday things? Do you open your souls and save them in My Team or do you avoid opening them to save space?
How quickly do you build up talisman and toons?
What's a comfortable amount of gold to be sitting on?
Or whatever other habits you formed that may be better than the way others are doing it right now?

I've been pretty much doing the same.

What I'm doing is to hold onto the souls without redeeming them, except for the one a day that I need to do to get the daily tab sorted. The only exception is if it's something like a legendary/lillith/trooper/high powered soul, where it's likely I'll get a new character or get some Frontier Coins.

I've currently got 200 char slots, 183 chars currently and 170 of those locked (not for sacrifice). So basically I'm doing both.

I've been trying to keep my gold >10M. I did this after an event a while back where there was something worth 10M gold, and I missed it by about 5k gold on the last day (I think I had 7M when the event started). Since then I've been keeping my gold higher than 10M where possible, so that hopefully I don't miss out on things like that again.

Fortunately that's not been too hard to keep up there since I finally got it up that high. Part of that has been doing things like Evoing up a few of my many 4* toons to 5*, then levelling them on Powerslave using autoplay, and getting gold in the process. Think I had 15M when I entered the last event that provided some goodies in the store, and I'm getting close to 15M again.

Also, I've been using some of the bonus Trooper badges (from the 2x week) to buy up a few extra rare souls for later. I probably won't do that too much, but when I hit 10K of the Trooper badges, it seemed like a reasonable idea. I won't buy the Eddie fragments, even if I haven't got the Eddie, as last time I did that, I got the Eddie in a soul later that day and ended up converting them all (which was a bit of a waste). Normally I put them into the 2 Skill Shards per week you can buy, tho you can get more than 10K a week if your troopers are good to you and you use them all every day.

FWIW: I have currently 24x 5* Eddies and 88x 5* Non-Eddies. The rest are either 4* waiting to Evo or for Sacrifice. I'm not against Sacrificing some of the 4* ones (the common soul ones) if I really need to, as I can easily get them back. I did that last time to get the last points I needed to fill a vortex (which got me my last fragments for The Alchemist), so it was probably worth it. :D

Pretty much the same

Store souls and use the basic ones to build up the voted in-between sac events (currently have about 700) this flies up in the lol Frag events. Keep anything else (rare, leg, class souls etc) until there is a sac event I want to go for.

Gold - around the £20m mark (given that more events have good 'for gold' purchase options.

Ironite - like to keep about 2000

Sacrifice all 3 star toons, hold 4 star and above (5* dupes) for a decent sac event

I currently have 165 talisman slots 115 char slots - so I try not to hold too much in my inventory generally.

I do pretty much the same as Wasting Years in terms of souls and sacrifices. I only open Heroic Souls if the frags are for a char I want or there is a chance for a 4* or 5* I'm missing. I buy Trooper frags every week but since relics came in I don't buy Immortal frags with IC; just slowly build them up 5 a week from arena ranking.

I try and keep gold around 10M but that took a hit recently as I added some extra char slots. Ironite I try and keep between 500 and 1000 so I can buy Talisman packs if there's an option to complete a set.

I use rare souls whenever I get them but I never ever use my common souls unless there's a sacrifice event, you never know when you get something like the hearts or pumpkins where petty sacrifices actually matter. The 4 and 5* characters I don't want get saved up for the events as well and I don't do ring fills unless there's an event, that way I always get the best out of whatever they're offering.

However, I've been wishing for a way to sell something like common souls without redeeming them. It may be a small waste, but it's still a waste of gold to open those useless fodder souls.

I maximize all of my Ironite into the frag events. It builds up a lot of regular and rare souls. I will save all of the regular ones for sacrifice events, hoping that its right before the arena events to build up Sands of War. There was once an event where you got frags of some sort for every time you opened a Rare Soul. I have 97 saved. I will open Legendary, G/A rares, and class specific Rare souls right away.

The only thing I purchase with Iron coins is the weekly Eternal frags and Relics. I will purchase everything in the Trooper store except regular souls, g\a regulars, and skill shards (I collect enough of them during the sacrifice events). If I need Ironite, I farm with troopers in Powerslave. If I need 3* talisman upgrades, I farm a high level in Underworld Madness. The Frag events give me enough for evolving and leveling up toons. I will sell all shards and evol shards down to 150 to give me enough gold. I roll around between 15-20 mil.

I usually open all souls and sacrifice everything below 4* right away. If I get too close to a Vortex fill outside a sacrifice event I just stop opening souls. Whenever I receive a new character, I max him right away but will not put Skill Shards on him. The skill shards are used when I feel that the new character ist helpful anywhere in the game. All dupe 4* and 5* are maxed during farming. 5* and G/A are maxed first as they offer the best rewards when sacrificed.
As I always felt like the game would give you, what you already have, I try to keep as much Gold, Ironite and Skill Shards as possible. My Gold is now over 40M and I surely will not buy an overpriced soul giving me a 4* dupe.

I sacrifice as I get them... save higher essence 4 star and 5 star dupes for events. Slowly level up teh dupes while farming to maximize teh essence they provide.

I'm terrible and hanging onto souls.. and sometimes even frags. But I can generally let a few dups sit in the roster without a pressing need to sacrifice them.

Just from the people responding this far, I'd say all of us have slightly different techniques or can see something somebody else is doing that may be worth a go!

Damn you guys a good! I need to go farm for gold is what I've learnt, my measly 1.5 - 2 million just won't cut it anymore...
On frontier coins: collecting trooper shards and eternity shards is a must for me before anything else every week, to spite the fact I have collected every soul they can offer (except Alexander), it won't be that far away before the current god/goddess souls will be attainable with FC's and hopefully by then, with all the Liliths collected I should have a stack towards them..
On rare and above souls: I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to open rare souls the minute I get them, though I am trying very hard to break that habit, you know the old chestnut of constant disappointment opening one and discovering another Sentinel allied soldier type scenario, I am aware the odds don't change opening many at a time but in a sense it does...
I used to save only 4* and above souls but after many events where specific goals need to be achieved I have seen merit in holding one of each of the 3 stars, they also make a good daily goal to slowly power up, as I said early I tend to max out high level characters immediately...
This is great feedback! Keep it coming!

Well looks like collecting up Trooper Badges pays off (esp with the 2x event) now that they're allowing people to purchase talismans from the Trooper store.

Well look at that! Holy carp! Good thing I saved a giant pile of Trooper Badges.

Gold: I keep at least 30 million saved up in case of gold-spending events. Apart from those events, I pretty much only spend gold on leveling up Talismans and the one-character-level-per-day daily reward.

Ironite: In the past few months, I've started to avoid spending Ironite on event souls. As OdoyleRules mentioned, the frag events are a better payoff given the souls you get from the LoL missions plus the Lilith fragments.

Trooper Badges: I tended to keep around 20K, only buying Trooper fragments and Skill Shards. When they added the Eddie fragments, I shifted my spending to those. Somehow I'm up to over 50K badges right now, and I'll be buying a couple sets of Talismans.

Iron Coins: I'm hanging onto 5000 in case there's there's an iron-coin-spending event. I buy the Eternal fragments every week and any extra coins get spent on Relics.

Frontier Coins: I saved 'em all up and bought Alexander Eddie. I'm very happy with that purchase, as I can now autofarm NotB Madness. Back to savin'.

As for souls, except for the Heroic fragments which I'm saving for Cyborg Eddie, I open 'em all when I get 'em. 1-3 star toons get sacrificed. 4-5 star toons get leveled up via Powerslave Madness autofarming and then saved for a sacrifice event. Eddies get leveled up via NotB Madness autofarming.

For skill shards, I have a reserve of about 30 of them which I'm saving for the launch of the Gauntlet. If there's a critical character or two for that, then it'll get sharded.

Yeah saving various coinage for various events does seem the way to go now, I'm doing pretty much the same with FC now that all the set of Liliths are out of the way...
Well well look at that! The first 4 x Nebu frags souls all in a row, and I don't have any of them... now if I could just save up a few more of those frags.... shame their as rare as hens teeth...:(

Ironite saved up for fragment events and PVP, never buying event souls again. Too much anger for 900 spent on blue soldiers and such trying to chase a 1.5% chance event character. All event characters do eventually appear without me spending to get it right away.

Keep Vortex ready to trigger when event happens, saving characters to make at least 1 tier 7 per month and enough others to make a second Vortex during event. Usually enough dupe 4 star and 5 stars per month for 2 tier 7 and 2 vortex. Had 4 tier 7 and 4 vortex as max for 1 event. Open rare souls right away to check for 4-5 star which get xp from autoplay battles during the month leading up to event. Rack up common souls and open+sacrifice during sac event. Rack up fragment souls during event, like 10 allied soldiers etc, because they get saced anyway and I don't want them to occupy slots in my roster. Have 130 and do not want to have more, already unmanageable and can't use them all. 18 maxed sharded Eddies and 56 maxed sharded characters, keep 20+ shards for emergency use. Have used 888 so far.

Autofarm underworld madness Shadows in the Valley because it is quick and gives 3star clear evo shards. Powerslave only if there is a 700 battle in 5 day kinda event.

Gold up and down, was 35m but after powering so many talismans in the last month and supporting a 1m/day Lilith fragment habit now down to 3m.

Putting more and more effort into PVP, this is where it all culminates after all missions, events, and worlds are done. Every month new characters and talismans introduced, old characters buffed and nerfed, different strategies and combinations. This end game is always fresh and challenging to me. Spend every iron coin on Relics.

Frontier coins at 850, bought so many trooper eddies for sacrifice but now saving for new unknown character from Powerslave list?

Trooper badges for shards and fragments, hope they put more talismans in here like Valor and Fate!

I save the common souls to open a 99 stack when I need sands of time/war, in order to reduce the refill purchase.

The other souls are opened immediately.

Once I get overflow characters, I sacrifice the mininum necessary, saving the most of essence to sac. events.

Play my troopers alongside the 4* and 5* dupes, to maximizing the sac. result.

With gold and ironite, I try to save the most I can, but I always use all in some events.
The last event with special offers by gold, I spent till the very last coin, for example.

Edsel I hear you buddy! I am saving every FC coin I can for the new soul arrivals and Alexander, I'm spending every spare Iron coin I have for relics in PVP, I also agree with you on spending money on souls unless it's a mixed bag and there's a crap load of other goodies worth the investment, so much pain over the last 2 years blowing my dough on 3* shite...

I decided not to open any rare soul (independent if class specific or not) since maybe half a year or even longer (can't remember exactly), as the chances are just too low to get the few chars that I am missing. I assume this will pay off in one of the next weeks during the birthday event!

That's so true, once you've virtually everything the odds get even smaller of grabbing something new, I'm doing the same...

I open the rare souls about twice a month. I do this not so much to acquire the few remaining characters I am missing, but to try and pull a few 4* characters. I can then use farming as a way to upgrade them for free while earning gold.i save the 4* toons from the LoL challenges in case i need them for sacriffices. Then sacrifice all 3* toons to increase the vortex meter.

I save most of my irronite for the frag and arena challenges. I haven't bought many souls with ir onite due to lo w probability of pulling anything good.

Do you find that interferes with toon space in your "my team" area?
I used to do something similar but now if I don't require some form of Nebu shards or the like from having opened the soul then they may as well stay unopened, I did manage to get Iron Eddie and Seventh Son Eddie within a day or two of one another about a fortnight ago but that is so rare for me, I just know the 700 odd souls I've saved for the sac event will give me bupkis...

I allocated 30 spaces for sac characters. It gets full before the event, then empties after the event. If I need spaces I purchase them at the weekly bonus, that way I don't miss the ironite.

This way throughout the month I can upgrade toons without using shards and gold, while farming.
