Something is brewing in the Time Rift...

In 24 hours a limited time Dungeon will be revealed!!!
4817

From the pic, it's placed smack between Lord of Light and Brave New World dungeons.

Does that mean it's Silent Planet, or something else?

Let the speculation begin.

Only thing I'll say so far: Looks inspired by PowerSlave.

If you zoom in on the powerslave dungeon thingy you will notice its not eddie sitting on the throne. Looks like a jackal headed figure to me so.... Anubis?

Definitely. I was speculating mainly on the visuals though (with a pyramid and even the stone plinths around the outside). Interestingly, Silent Planet's current note says "Face the Demons of Creation hidden within the depths of a Silent Planet."

So it definitely fits that if it's Anubis or related characters.

Plus around the bottom of the pic there are rocks floating about, which is also the case for Silent Planet.

Edit: Ignore that. Same rocks are there in Powerslave. Looks like apart from the Sun atop the pyramid and Pharaoh on the front being replaced from the Powerslave visual, not much else has been changed. Even the icons down the right side of the pyramid are the same.

Unless one of the mods speaks up, I think we'll all just be waiting till tomorrow.

I'm guessing its an Assassin Powerslave/Kingdom of the Sands inspired dungeon which will be the 4th part of the Mega Event. I wouldnt be surprised if the boss is the next God itself (Anubis seems the most obvious). Looks cool though!

I can tell it easily : The one sitting on that throne is Set. Epic!

"In Egyptian mythology, Set is portrayed as the usurper who killed and mutilated his own brother Osiris. Osiris' wife Isis reassembled (remembered) Osiris' corpse and resurrected her dead husband long enough to conceive his son and heir Horus. Horus sought revenge upon Set, and the myths describe their conflicts. This Osiris myth is a prominent theme in Egyptian mythology."

Epic indeed! So will Osiris be the 5th Powerslave God?!

By the way, Isis = Aset (the goddess of love, marriage, and magic) for those unfamiliar.

Man, gotta admit I really had my hopes up for Anubis, but Set would be awesome to have (And eventually Osiris) too! Can't wait to see what the new dungeon will be like!

Same here regarding Anubis. Hopefully, we'll continue to see more Egyptian Gods and Goddesses over time: Anubis, Bastet (please!), Serqet, Sobek, Thoth, Apophis, etc.

Apophis would be an amazing character to introduce a new Orange class of characters that I suggested here (http://forum.ironmaidenlegacy.com/showthread.php?8870-PvP-Attrition&p=56495&viewfull=1#post56495) almost a year ago.

Apophis / Isfet has been an overwhelming presence in my reality recently. It's only fair that he becomes a part of LotB. :)

Completely agree, I would love to see more of these guys! Maybe they could be offered with certain achievements or missions (For example, do a certain task within Kingdom Of The Sands). Also, another character class could be interesting to add in, just to mix things up a bit and make it feel a bit fresh?

Enjoy man! And, please check out Pillorian! They rose from the ashes of one of my favorite bands, Agalloch.

Just from the pointedness of the ears I'm going to say Anubis over Set I think, although either would be awesome :)

Honestly, that threw me too, given that Set's usually depicted with flat-topped ears. It's hard to say which one it is for definite, since visually it does look like Anubis, but given that one of the hieroglyphs on the Powerslave Event picture shows Osiris, hinting that he could appear, and Set killed Osiris in mythology, it would make sense for it to be him. Can't wait to find out though, really excited for the new dungeon.

This new dungeon colored purple obviously is the Assassin God. Final event for August will be the Gunner. Curious if this new dungeon will be populated with more Assassin enemies then recycled and repopulated with Gunner enemies? Final event is a sacrifice event, instead of guaranteed fragments, will the dungeons drop “increased chance” type souls? Hopefully Lilith fragments will also be available. Excited for new content!!

I was just sitting here listening to that when I was reading through this. The Pillorian album is great, I'm still mad I had to miss them when they came around with Wolves in the Throne Room. Maybe they will team up with Uada for a US tour. That would be nice! Can't wait to see what this Temple of Set dungeon thing is, Maybe we will be able to collect fragments of Osiris there.

You have great taste, man! It broke my heart when Agalloch broke up - they were so awesome! It's crazy that you mentioned Uada! I just discovered them about two months ago. I saw them live on July 2 and will see them again in mid-Sep. They sound more like Agalloch than Pillorian does, in my opinion.

Also, speaking of WITTR, another band I've been digging lately is Sabbath Assembly, whose singer, Jamie Myers, sings on A Looming Resonance and Diadem of 12 Stars. She's a force of nature.

I got to see Agalloch three times fortunately. They played different material every time also. One of the times they played at MDF, they played all old stuff. I have saw Uada a couple times also, once they played about 10 minutes from my house. You should check out this new band called The Spirit. I just discovered them this past weekend. They are very Dissection like!

See, Chaosego888 . . . I said last night that Isfet (chaos) is everywhere for me right now, and then you and I have this "strange" sort of connection / synchronicity.

That's what I thought was strange. I just came home and thought 'I haven't listened to Agalloch in a while' and someone else around here knows who Pillorian is. I know what you mean about chaos, I think I'm most comfortable when surrounded by it.

Of course I had to sample Agalloch as a I spy on your dialog - great ambiance and texture...swaying from haunting to heavy...but Cookie Monster vocals :(

Those are definitely an acquired taste - one that I never managed to acquire - but music is awesome and interestingly I don’t mind the vocals as much against all the varying minor-sounding textures (as opposed to on non-stop heavy)

Hey Chaosego, you exceeded your inbox quota so I couldn't respond you there. So if you read this, I'll do my runs at 9pm Sao Paulo, Brazil time, I think that's 5pm west coast and 8pm east coast of the US. Thanks man.

It's a taste worth aquiring. Otherwise we would miss out on so much good music. Have you ever listened to Ihsahn's album 'The Adversary' I think it is a masterpiece, both musically and vocally. Enslaved's 'Monumension' is another I would recommend. You seem like a music connoisseur so it may grow on you a little if you listen to the masters. There's a lot of bad or mediocre stuff out there that can be offputting as well but it's the same when listening to Power/ Traditional Metal with a singer that can't sing
