View Full Version : Does the game create random effects in pvp?

I've been noticing for some time it seems the arena will randomly give characters effects they don't have. It was my PoM eddie vs a yellow corrupted rescuer, I read every talisman effect on them which was titan shield, blind, and explosive, yet somehow they were able to stun my eddie for a turn, revive clairvoyant and then team rez. I'm no pro and I don't understand all talisman effects and combos but from everything I've read I can't see anything anywhere how I could have possibly gotten stunned. This is just the most recent example I have, anyone notice things like this?

Explosive Talisman has a chance to inflict Grievous Burns on target which has a chance to stun the opponent. Once stunned he then would revive "randomly" (which we all know the AI will always revive the reviver - in this case Clair) who then will Fury and revive the party. I am willing to bet that you did not check his power level before he revived but I would say that it was not 7 but you know - "no AI boost" and all.
There are times where the AI will absolutely use the optimum sequence of events and every "possible" outcome is pushed to 100% "possibility". So essentially even though there "no AI boost" the Ai at times performs the perfect actions with only a tiny sliver, if any, of the possibility of failure. You'll see this often -- where you lose a match because the AI did just the right thing at the right time and didn't miss. Then go back in, fight the same exact team, with the exact same talismans.... and wipe them out in less than 1 full turn.
It's not that unexpected abilities are used, it's that the "35% chance" is really a 75%-100% chance for the AI at times -- the "not present" AI accuracy boost.
PvP seems to go in cycles, for a couple hours the Ai will get every possible accuracy benefit and boost... then for a couple hours it won't. So.. when I find I'm getting beat by the AI, not the actual teams... I leave PvP for a while because often there's little point in battling an unfair advantage (which the devs state "isn't there", but anyone who has played knows it is there).

I have noticed that sometimes when using the sentinel lilith a random enemy will be i flicted with perfect corruption and stun at the start of battle. Unless i just missed the character tuning memo, im not sure why that happens

If you have Trap on your Sentinel Lilith and they have a character that will seal or remove buffs it will trigger and start them stunned and affected by Perfect Corruption.

Had an interesting event just occur. Horus' Fury skill 100% removes all immunity effects, which includes Vanish. Had him use his fury against the Valkyrie Guardian who I think had the invisibility talisman set, and instead of removing the Vanish as it's supposed to, it remained active. It also seemed to activate much more frequently than what seems normal, as in activating nearly every turn.

I'm sure it does. 100%. Seen really weird shit on PvP.
The AI boost makes all "chances" in the range of 85-100%... so yeah.. it can seem like every turn sometimes.
If the effect has an 85% chance of activating add the 15-20% AI boost and that's 100%.. pretty much every turn.

On my experience gainst Horus and Corrupt general I agree on that. They f*king stun the entire team on every hit

At one point I was convinced that Corrupt General had a 100% stun rate, since I didn't have him and always had at least 1 toon get stunned whenever I went against him. It's really infuriating. Haven't actually battled against Horus much, but seen many others complaining that his stun rate seems ridiculously high.

Horus is really tough if you don't have Angel talismans or you can't stun him.

I tried him with Nightmare talismans (which put the enemy to sleep) just to see how it would work. I'd imagine going up against him in PvP with that setup would be a literal nightmare, given the effect chance, though only if he attacked last.

Immunity helps. He can't remove immunity and stun in 1 turn, it takes him at least 2. So if you can throw in Immunity again after he removes it, it's easier.

M COTD with immunity can be very helpful. Don't you think?
