I read a discussion in another thread about whether new players get better characters than old players or not. What is better to check this than an unused account with almost all of the cool characters fully sharded?

Today I sacrificed all of my characters except the last Ed. I received over 700 rare G/A souls, 300 rare souls, 50 legendary souls and lots of class specific souls.

Legendary Souls: 50 of them did not give a single 5* !
Rare G/A: 700 dropped only six 5* chars! Beast Ed being the only new and powerful among them.
The other souls: What a surprise - just crap.

The only new character out of more than 1.000 souls was a single Doomsday Ed!

Sorry to repeat myself devs, but it is obvious that you are cheating about the odds. 1.000 souls should be a statistically significant number.

I think that since we are in the middle of an event with Rare souls being the focal point, the drop odds have been tweaked in order for players to spend on ironite and acquire more souls.

I started out hot but by the time I was done, nothing of note. I think your outcome would have been different if you had sacrificed tomorrow.

Everyone should know by now that this is what it is. A way to separate you from your money. If you're okay with that, continue, if you're not then you should quit.

Wow. Only Iron Eddie survived, Sick just wonder how many skill shards you got from xx number of tier 7 and vortexes? You must be playing MSF with Slauki to have disposed of this account. So much time to build and poof gone 4ever. This morning within 15 minutes I got Visions from a rare soul and Cyborg from single rare g/a. Then sometimes a month with the infamous shit-dupes!

I have sold nearly 400 skill shards yesterday. By the way, I am probably the richest player now. 250 Mio. Gold.

Sick It makes me wonder if the old saying on these forums "pay to play" has any bearing on the outcome of all those soul drops?
Were you an active financial contributor? Mmmm maybe that's not a good question either... it's just I always had a silly theory that how much and how often we spend dollars would amount to the likelihood of nabbing a cool character.

I opened more rare souls than I planned. Maybe around 80 and I got Zero 5* and only a handful of 4*. Some stacks of 10 rares gave no red eyes at all in a row. So obviously the drop rate was reduced during the event. What an evil move, but are we really surprised? I also was quite unlucky with the IC drops. Most stacks of 10 rares gave ~160 IC. Disappointing.

Guys, who do you consider a new player?
I played a couple of months when the game was launched until LOL was added. I decided to comeback again this spring around end of April as far as I remember. I cannot really can't complain about pulling new eddies and toons, but sometimes I get nothing too. For example, I don't have Beast Eddie, I got only Osiris out of the egypt gods, no Icarus and Daedalus. By now from events I have pulled Doomsday, Osiris, Redan and I think Benjamin(not sure about him). I still miss Edward, Rainamker, Cyborg, Hallowed, Samurai, Alliance General , Prisoner and some more toons, but these are top of the mind for me now.

I already deleted the app again. Everything I loved about the game in the beginning is gone. P2W is not what I am looking for.

You really did go for it Sick - I can see why too to be honest. I have contemplated it a fair bit from time to time but just always stopped myself from deleting it or from clearing out as i have spent a fair bit on the game over the last couple of years and I just cant do it due to the sepnd and time invested so I take a chill pill and relax about it all. It has worked so far but just keen to see soem new content - they are , as ever, taking their time to get new stuff out but one thing is for sure, they have to make money so P2W has to be the only way forward for them to make it all work for the long term of the game.

Thanks Scott. I guess I just lost faith that anything new will ever come. Yesterday, when I reinstalled the app, I saw that Gauntlet is still in Beta mode. Probably it will be forever. This way the devs don’t have to care about the bugs. In the State of the Nation post early this year they promised that Night City was going to be launched this year. Let’s see, it is still 9 weeks to go. Didn’t they talk about a way of ingame communication with your troopers as well? They will be really busy until Christmas I guess.

No, the skill shards are not returned when you sac a fully sharded toon, just the talis.

I'm still on like 180mil I had around 250 but then I expanded my talisman inventory to 300 so it bit out a chunk of my treasure.

I certainly wouldn't mind a gold event but I may be conflicted if things end up costing like 50million for a legendary soul or something lmao.
I feel like Smaug, greedily hoarding over his treasure, unwilling to part with a single piece of gold.

I probably would have been pretty high but over last few weeks I have spent a fortune on upgrading multiple sets of tallies and toons - it would be kind of cool to see who has the deepest/broadest roster of tallies at full or toons at full.

I was not even part of the crimson and gold thing - cant even remember what that was!

Well done though, for freeing yourself from the slot machine! I guess that’s the only way to do it.
I, same as Scott, am struggling to do so. i have spent over 1500$ on this shit (mostly on crazed streaks in the chase for an event character: Navigator-250+$=didn’t get him/Krampus&Edward-350$=didn’t get either).
At least i have stopped investing cash after new years disappointment...

But to answer Rags question: i think investing $$$ decreases the drops even more, because they know that you are willing to try again...

That was exactly my experience as well. Whenever I spent money on the game, I had the feeling that the app got greedy and wanted more.

i do the same thing few months ago but i was on 40-50 characters like now...and yes this is one big slot machine...

I have dropped about $200-300 over the last years , have most characters and most talismans and about 220mil gold. I don't know if it factors in my rewards but sometimes it feels like does. I have had dupes of most characters people are still searching for, so it always feels like something is flagged. At the same time I still have never received Astra in over 1000 Rare G/A, so no clue how or why some people get everything and some people get nothing.
