Ferryman and KP - Fronteira Store

Hello everyone, I did not find anything here in the forum.
so just for information, the two characters Ferryman and KP, are available in the Frontier Store, 3500FC, each.

I saw a patch update notification when I restarted earlier but nothing new in the FC store for me. I will retry and I see the notes section has updated with Ferryman and KP as well as some other offer about 1500 FC and Class packs with 5* characters.


Just restarted again and they are both updated along with new packs.

yes, the packages with mythical souls, FC, IC, and others ... are in the events tab.

Even with these prices, nowadays it is faster to join 3500FC, than it was at the beginning to join the 2500 for Alexander Eddie.

Still, (even if my opinion is worthless) I think 3000 for them, would be fairer, and 2500 for The Beast.

I'm glad they're here at least now I have a shot to get the Ferryman again. But damn, 3,500 is a whopper. It makes a bit more sense than the beast since these two are among the most op characters but hell, 2,500 would be more realistic here.

That’s how it goes. Few days befor Beast appeared in FC store I purchased Sekhmet and Aset and thought, oh shit, cause I really wanted the beast! Now I see for what it was good. If I purchased the beast at this time my FCs would still be down and now I’m missing about 400 to 3.5k and I will surely purchase Ferryman as I luckily already have KP and he’s waaay better than beast!

In no rush to get Ferryman now that he is quite easily killed in the Arena and a permanent addition to the FC list. I do regret getting Beast now though as he merely sits in my roster and does not even get used during farming. I have enough for Ferryman and I can't think of any other use for FC unless NoTb Eddie becomes available for FC but I suspect he will eventually make the regular soul rotation or Heroic souls. Releasing these two also makes me suspect there may be an FC event around the corner to either drain or gain FC. I also can't see needing two KP as they really are "glass cannons". KP hits hard but is also easily dispatched when he is on the receiving end of any other hard hitting ally/Eddie.

I'd get KP if I didn't have him. He's arguably the most overpowered character at the moment.

But.. realize that in a couple weeks or a month he maybe made obsolete. If you're doing okay now.. I wouldn't go rushing to spend FC especially if that means you need real $$ to get them.

i agree with yup, KP is meta for quite some time now, and i expect we might see a metashift kinda soon, so i would not purchase anything. if you have frontier coins in the bank then it is worth to consider it, since he is the biggest gamechanger at the moment.
ferryman is definetly nice to have, but don't think he is that essential compared to KP at least....

Some thoughts for the recent discussion:
- interesting to see those 2 now in the FC shop; I expected them to be in heroics somewhen -> question: what will be the plan for the special-no-fury-Eddies?
- the FC price is heavy and I see no reasonable balance between those 2, the Beast and Alexander (but this is also true for many other characters there)
- never buy random things that you can get by other means for FC, better save up for exclusive characters and Talis
- don't spend money (in general ;) ) and especially not for things like FC that accumulate anyway (I am at >7k atm + about 3.5k indirectly in form of unopened souls)
- KP is a very good allrounder (pvp&farming) and as he has so many benefits (stats, talis colors & passive), I don't see him become useless quickly
- ferryman is nasty. Teams that are not prepared have no chance. The other way round he is taken down very easily, especially if you can disable his passive
- hex talis seem to be made exactly for him, but only if fights take long. If you equip him for damage only, he is taken down ultra quick if the passive is disabled -> so you need to decide for what part of the game you want to use him
- both show up in pvp very often (especially KP), so we have already came up with stategies against them. Hence, I see no real problem if they show up even more. This is a lot different of course in the lower ranks, but I think it is ok to give someone there an advantage if he/she had a good resource management sofar so that he/she can afford KP and/or Ferryman

They are bot great characters and well worth having both. I was lucky and got both and a spare Ferryman and they all come in handy - two Ferryman in most PVE is devasting as the defences can do little against them most of the time add in KP and it is a slaughter in PVE. not so sure on PVP though as Ferryman can be killed easily with the passive diable based team - mnay times it is one hit from the Alchy and they are out...but in attack they can be quite a team. The cost though is very high for them but maybe pitched about right compared to the Beast who is mostly a bench warmer other then the odd go in gauntlet.

Best talismans for ferryman?

I run HEX and whatever other set you want. I actually just run the "Assassin" Talisman which increases ATK x 15% of magic and MAGIC x 15% of ATK

If someone can disable his passive he practically dies from a sneeze. But if they can't, he pushes out MASSIVE damage, so I just run talisman to buff his ATK & MAG to max.

The HEX are important because it prevents his own passive HP loss. So your opponent cant just outlast the Ferryman.

I initially thought that I could probably afford to buy the pack, then I saw the actual price of $99. The posts here will help people decide which of the two to buy first. My second question in the original post is how saving the money instead of a pack might allow getting raven witch. Her skills look impressive and might be more valuable than ferryman or kp.

Luckily I have those characters already but if I really wanted 'em, I sit on +15000 FC, so I will wait for the next "unavailable nowhere else" character (like Assassin Krampus for exemple)

Seems likely that you may need to play the next LoL and dungeon events intensively plus don't forget to get your trooper and eternety frags every week plus participate in the sac events a lot (for FC rewards and Alchemist souls) to gain many FC!

Actually even without Hex he won't kill himself before the draw option comes up... even the forced draw at 20 turns. He'll last the entire battle if his passive isn't disabled. have 2 of them.. ran some tests without Hex on one... he just doesn't lose enough HP to kill himself. It takes negative buffs of some sort (flame, flare, shock etc) to actually kill him before the forced draw.

I would love to see the option to buy the event souls for, say, 100FC as well. Maybe not permanently, but certainly for a while after the event ends, to allow us plebs to finish off collecting the character

Yes, yes, and yes! I think it's insane to use Ferryman without Immunity talismans. I use Hex, Immunity, and a Cosmic on mine.

Immunity can obviously be worked around, but starting naked against a Prisoner team seems suicidal to me.

The Raven witch I'm raving on about is a character that may be coming up in a later April event. She is the character introduced recently in the ailing kingdom.
You all answered my question between kp and ferryman. I'll be purchasing kp after Alexander. I was going to buy a package until I found out its 99 dollars. A little out of my budget.

Based on pure aesthetics, the Raven Witch looks great. Obviously she is terribly underpowered in PvE because she's in Ailing Kingdom.. but if they boosted her.. she could be great.

With the purchase availability of KP and Ferryman, expect to see them more prominently in gauntlet. For every OP toon/talisman released you will pay for it in the gauntlet. If ferryman was an opponent in gauntlet level A before the purchase option, what can we expect of KP next season.

For a while I was using Burning talismans on my KP and Explosive Talismans on Ramesses to deal with Ferryman but now I am only running Present talismans and they destroy Ferryman.

Echoing what Yup said in that Ferryman will not kill himself even without Hex. I had many fights end in Draw trying to get Burning or Explosive to land on Ferryman. Even if I have reduced his Max HP to the lowest, he will take only 18 damage and heal for 200. The beauty of Present set is that the Punishment can turn into Doom and Fear and since Ferryman is usually the last enemy there is no way to cleanse and he dies either by the Punishment damage or Doom.

Doom is the way I go with Ferryman too. My usual attack team has Alchy in it so I use him - he was pretty much always been in my team these days though I do change it up a bit depending on what i face. I need to level up some of the newer talisman and give them a try I think as my attack team (I use three) have not changed in a long time though I do mucj about with them when I can be bothered.

My ferryman ( I use him in one team) doesn't use immunity (he has sustain usually) as that team also has Alchy in it so he clears things up each turn.

Alchy is a great character at the moment for me when doing Arena and I think as I am less bothered about getting losses in Arena it is a bit more fun than it was as I much about with different things and just shrug my shoulers and move on when I am owned. I maybe need to start thinking things through a bit more though! Too lazy most of the time.

I actually put Tranquility on my Ferryman to remove Perfect Immunity, so he CAN inflict Doom. Without that.. I found myself in A LOT of draw battles, especially with characters like A Banshee how will have PI all the time. FWIW.. I think his Power ability should remove Perfect Immunity and not Perfect Immortality.. Doom eliminates Perfect Immortality.

Yes! I agree 100%! I also think the programming for the "extra turn for allies" chance needs to be checked. I think it actually procs at a lower % than the 25% indicated in the description.
