Are they worth it? I don’t plan on spending a dime on this game unless it’s for like Paschendale Eddie or something, and I have the 500 ironite to finish the set. I’m aware of the reaper tali issues, but I don’t have the vault unlocked so I’m screwed w/out the ender pack. If they are worth it, what are some recommend eds/ toons to use on?

Ive not come across them, but a few people have come across alex with them in PVP and they caused a heap of trouble with the counter-strike. I wish there would be an ender pack too!

@Devs, if you read this, please put an ender pack up for grabs!!!

I came across a few during the last arena event. They are definetly worth it if you have the ironite. That is if they dont nerf them in the near future. I didnt buy them outright so I will have 2 more days. Any good toon that can hold 5 red talisman would be worth a try.

You can purchase 2 of the 5 set for 500 ironite if you are unable to finish the skull quests.

you were able to purchase a full set for approx $20? I forget exact cost. I havent been spending on the game with all these issues, but i got completely stomped by these in Gauntlet so I broke down and bought a set. Will have a second set once the event completes. These things are crazy good and should be used on any toon that can carry them. Since I bought them, they have disappeared from my store, so I dont know if they are still available.

It is a "one time only" purchase, in € it is 22. Buy it or not, no judge or offense. Buy as much as you folks can, so that our game get's better and better... I simply cannot convince my self to spend again after all these disappointments. My old-school mind seems to be just unable to accept this freemium-approach, sorry if I offended someone in the past.

Connected to that, you gave a greate example of the psychological manipulation that is happening, Natasmai. Gauntlet is the perfect place to "advertise" new characters and talis. In combination with the AI boost, the ability of the opponents to wear all talis sets they want - without the colour restrictions we have - and the unknown stat boosts they have (I just checked, we don't even see the by talis added stats on the enemies - which is different to normal PVE game mode), especially now with the cosmic talis also, it is the perfect place to show you, that you absolutely need to have these things and you really really should buy them. With that point of view I just cannot buy these things, as I do not like to consider myself being manipulated.

The very very good thing is, that the majority of us players get one Viper set for free so that we can keep up a bit with the meta.

I know you're one of the big donors. Go on as long as you want and can, it will hopefully do the game good!

Little story by the way: I bought exactly 1 Talisman combo set with real money. It was Guard + Explosive. That was just before BNW came out and they were both among the best there was for the arena back then (explosives were pretty buggy as well as thorn just after). It's been a long time, incredible!

Edit: I just saw it was not a combo but 2 separate buys. June & August 2017 - good old days lol!

While trying to hit 500 PvP battles, I came across a few with Viper. The first was Rags team, I was like WTF!
I needed some ironite so I got the ironite/viper pack, $19.99. They are crazy good. I used Viper, Alchemy, Labrynth and Frontier (all 5 tali sets) on almost every team in Gauntlet, levels AA and above.
The counterstrike on the Vipers are 100%(despite what the description says.)
Great to buy, but we all know what happens when something works too good.
Enjoy them while we can.

Stated it just by viewing the tuning update before they were available.. they were overpowered since concept.. let alone implementation.

75% chance to counter strike + 15-25% AI accuracy boost = 100% chance to counterstrike.

Wait until the event is over and some teams have 2 sets....

Yes these are arena team setup changers for sure. Rags was the first to school my now obsolete build with his Alex Ed. Charlotte is a better choice for Vipers along with Number of the Beast Eddie + Labyrinth, KP, Madam + Alchemy as seen in SSS Gauntlet 1st team. What a powerful team!
I did the 500 Arena by quitting each battle before the coin toss ended because they all counted towards goal. Arena stats were highest defense ever ending up over 250 wins 71+ % didn't they mention us getting rewards for defense wins at some point?

I met a team with Vipers on Charlotte, Dominance on Alex, and Hex in the team, as first battle in SSS last week.
My Ferryman was already gone by then, I hit it with all I had left but that was simply too strong for the rest of my roster.
Incredibly strong defence, especially if you bring your A-Team for the first attempt, not knowing the talismans you'll face and therefore slightly misassembled, but then again, you cannot send a weak team in for scouting for every round of SS and above...
Some glimpse into the talisman build of the enemy team would be very helpful, otherwise, this will happen more and more.
You can plan for strong characters since you see them, but with the talismans by now being more relevant for the strength of the enemy team than the toons themselves, this is like fighting blind.

its even more difficult with teams like magus lilith, you had to put together a team with both heal block (fortune) and block bennys (destiny) plus if it is combined with AssBanshee you need a passive disabler. Now add in these 5 sets on other toons and....ugh

It's quite powerful. I'm using it with killers eddie for fun since his attack's extra effects work with perfect bleed as well

Is there a counter to these talismans? I've lost 3 times to a undead rescuer with these in gauntlet AA (sentinel/assassin only) I recall a character or talisman immune to silver effects, but can't think of it ATM.

Stun, freeze, blind... A stunned/frozen toon can't counter. A blind toon may miss the counter.

I met that team in AA
Beast Eddie with labyrinth
Warrior Undead Rescuer with Viper
That new sentinel droid that gets tons of extra turns and don't remember the 4th.

Anyway went in to it blind with just pretty generic team of all sentinel characters and won even though I went second. Think my maxed relics saved me

Actually I THINK that team had no skill shards.. so they weren't hitting very hard. I had the same experience there at AA.

I finally beat that team with assassin banshee and fotd ed. I have a set of viper but never tried them, and was first time encountering them.. actually my first time using a.banshee too. A lot of new content lately and haven't learned all the current synergies.
