View Full Version : Strong natural 3* characters

Looking at the patch notes it seems the weekly frontier dungeon will only allow natural 3* characters (similar to how the daily only allows natural 4* characters). What are some good 3*? Starer Eddie, RTTH Eddie, SOL Eddie, golden sons, green anubis, ...Other suggestions?

Sentinel Dog of War, sentinel desert guardian, gunner dog, gunner allied bomber boy and assassin undead axis gunner are pretty good characters. Golden sons are good like you said. Gunner possessed rockets and gunner desert golem can use primordial talismans, so I think finding 3 star characters that can use some of the stronger talisman sets will help.

Just as a side note, sentinel desert guardian can get insane smog output. The ability to do extra dmg based on dmg over time effects is insane w/ chars like crusader or killers Ed. I would recommend using him with any burn or bleed based characters for dmg output.

Because i started right when the game came out, for a long while all everyone could do was upgrade their 3 star guys so i got quite a few. Ass. + Sent. soulless Demon, Magus allied solly, Ass. + warrior golden son are good ones

I think the soulless demons are 4* but great suggestions with the desert guardian and gunner dog.

Blue allied soldier reflect shield was really popular ages ago. Dont forget the heal/ revive of magus water spirit. Days of a simpler time.

Warrior Pharoah face was always in my team early on too - he was my most used character early on until i got a few stronger characters. I have also used Savage Reapers too in Gauntlet. The new Wicker characters can help as well though not used them much and they develop passives as you evolve them too. SACRO is OK and has an OK passive - one thing to look for is 3 star or less with a passive - there are a few of them. Not sure if Assassin Undead Maurauder and Gunner Possessed Mines are 3 star or not but I used to use him too (might be a 4 star but sure he is 3?)

Is there a post anywhwere which has all the characters with their original star rating? Would be useful to have that but can't remember ever seeing one on here or anywhere else?

The Queen's Guard is actually quite useful. He's like a mini cleanser that can never be stunned, frozen, etc. Gunner Newborn of Light was always my favorite when I was new to the game as well. Assassin Demon Spawn is useful with Iron Eddie. It all depends on what you want to use the 3 star for, there are a good handful that can be useful.

Iron Eddie is a 4 star toon, so he wont be available in the weekly dungeon.

The demon spawns all have a use as well - not just the assassin dude. But not sure if they were all three star or not!

Just a while back there was a 3*Viking Eddie released as well. I wonder if he'll be able to be used? My wickerman is a 3*. I never got one that was a higher star due to already having mine sharded and maxed.

I get him every now and then and he's always a 3* for me. He was my 2nd Eddie and I still play him regularly

That is correct, kind of sleepy and forgot he can be gotten as natural 3*. Strange I got him with 4* after beating the beast on hard.

It's really gonna come down to talismans. I'm guessing the ability to strip off buffs will be crucial, so Redemption, Greed, Reaper, etc. talismans will be important.

I tried out the Weekly key dungeon for the first time. It's the same waves as the Daily key dungeon. I had no trouble using this team manually on Madness:

RTTH Eddie: Redemption, Guard
Green Desert Guardian: Eternal
Gunner Dog: Purge, Hunter, rando green
Gunner Dog: Strike, Advantage, rando yellow

Yeah the 3 star limit can be tricky.. but really only due to that 6 bat lineup in madness. Good rewards though.... another white T1 cosmic (geeez) but still... a cosmic at the end.

Planning on holding on to my weekly key till I get my 3* characters maxed out. At least that way I'll have saved maybe 2 or 3 rare key souls depending on how long things take.

Looking forward to more types of dungeons.

Quite a few of the Night City 3* characters can be handy. Sentinel, Warrior and Magus Tricksters can hit reasonably hard, can steal beneficial effects, get extra turns and hold talisman sets like Valor, Viper, Oracle, Fortune, Destiny, Alchemy, Frontier. Gunner Convict can hold primordial, block beneficial effects and disable passives. S. Chopper can hold viper and permadeath.

I have just noticed though that the S. Trickster isn't showing in the team selection for the weekly dungeon??? I get him all the time from rare souls, even occassionally from common so have no idea why he would be missing? A bug? :/

I completed Madness with the following

SoL Eddie with Oracle.
M. Allied Soldier with Greed/Inspiration. (deflect shield very handy on 2nd/4th waves)
Queen's Guard with Viper
A. Bomber Boy with Labyrinth.

Swapped to RTTH Eddie with valor on the final wave.

I di dmy first one of these with a team that just has basic tallies and it was tough without changing them - I ended up with my SoL Eddie and one character (can't remember which but I think it was Gunner Dog) but was able to finish off the final wave with just those two...it took a while though! I won't be doing that again and will likely use the more current talisman sets as others have mentioned before - there are plenty options that is for sure and having buff strippers will be a big help so valor and redemption very useful...I think I will stick with SoL Eddie though as he seemed to do pretty well as a utility Eddie that heals and extends and reduces buffs etc but will defo include a harder hitting back up Eddie for the final wave as I didn't even have one on my first run through - I know, I know, it was stoopid!

SoL Eddie - Oracle
Pharaoh Sun Spirit - Valor
Magus Allier Soldier - Greed, inspiration
S desert guardian - Eternal

Couldn't see rewards but I think some ironite and talismans soul fragments.

It seems it doesn't really matter what toons and talismans one is using as indicated by the variety of teams. I used
storm (oracle)
s anubis (redemption, 3 random green)
s desert guardian (tower, immunity, cosmic)
s wicker ox cultist (angel, energy)

I was able to do it with

Speed of Light Eddie/Run to the Hills Eddie
Savage Reaper
Sacro Scout
Sirius/Sentinel Newborn of Light

I have a trooper with Sirius and he's really pretty useful. The cleansing and the extra turns were great. If they put him up for sale again, I might buy him. Sacro Scout is useful mainly for the Titan/Force Shields he puts up. Endurance is key to this one, since it takes longer to kill the baddies than with your stronger characters.

Speed of Light Eddie was my main leader, but I would sometimes bust out RTTH. I have Rage Talismans on him so when I had enough power it was very useful to hit them with that.

I have Echo Talismans on Savage Reaper. That way he can set a time bomb and then have a chance to activate it. Very useful.

I find the assassin demon spawn helps alot. It inflicts crave at the start of the battle and lets all hits do massive damage.

I did the weekly easily with sol, magus allied soldier, gunner dog (w cosmic), s anubis, with whatever 5* talismans I had lying around. Didnt even bother pulling out the vipers/labyrithns etc

I did a Christmas run today in the dungeon. I have to say it was fun and a little challenging lol.
