So after having all toons fully shared (which took 2 years) and all the great shiny latest talismans plus old. I cant get past AAA round. This is absolutely ridiculous. Am I playing virtual craps? I'd expect a challenge 3rd to last round on but AAA?
PS. Fix your dungeons. Computer shouldn't "ATTACK" first in PVE

Yeah the gauntlet is getting harder... probably to push people to the arena.

Everytime a new OP toon/talis is released you will definetly see it multiple times in gauntlet. In other posts you will see some top players also stuck at AAA. It is the luck of the draw from the God like creature RNG.
Be careful for what we wish for, for we will see it in gauntlet with impossible talis setups.

At least you could get to AAA. My first AA team is Shadow Wickerman, Ferryman, Raven Witch and Ass. Valkyrie and off course they all have impossible talismans.

Maybe this is just me, but I think the AI should attack first far more often. I dont understand why we get first attack all the time. I get that everyone knows that is the way the game has always been and so they just assume it should always be that way, but why should it?
I dont think they need to "fix the game" just because the AI attacks first on rare occasions. I think you need to adjust your expectations.
In other news, Gauntlet is fuct.... hopefully they fix the balance soon.

*UPDATE* : He stopped taking damage. Had to quit. That's two teams down because of a buggy char. I think I won't make it to AAA this week.
I'm on this same team. First team I send is wiped, second team is still going at it. It's been beyond an hour, I didn't plan for burners, and ferryman apparently will never consume himself, despite what his passive does. On top of having a char doomed even with Gunner Anubis on the team.
Currently he goes down by 10 hp per turn.

Hey thats my goto team set up as well haha, potent but also aestheticly pleasing too (well aesthetic aside from Valkyrie but the multi hit and removal of buffs is so useful)

Gotta go passive disable for every team w Ferryman. Alternatively with a cleanser, you can also go in with a burn team to finish him off. He will never kill himself as his HP reduction is always off current (not max hp).

You can also try and doom him, and reduce the time so it goes off before he gets cleansed. It depends on his talisman on how long it may take if you have a weak team.

Viper talismans make short work of ferryman. Any toon with guaranteed passive disable like warrior Minotaur, warrior derby demon, and even sentinel desert warrior can take him down. I’d use KP Gambler, or another ferryman to get rid of the immunity. On a side note, 5-stars that are fully leveled are now in some F grades. Pardon the pun, but that’s F’ed up.

The problem is with ferryman in AA and AAA with restricted toons. You can easily run out of passive disablers or cleansers. I had 3 majors last season IN AAA, it seems everyone can have their own particular problem if RNG wants to win

AA acted up on a different round for me... the one with pharaoh ed. i used ancient mariner on my team, but he was taking true damage. passive disable was not on him .

Muzakmakar I came across the same team on my second battle. It was a tough one for AA. I used Hallowed Ed, Anubis, osiris and chopper. I got lucky and went first.

I dont enjoy PVP, I play gauntlet, it is interesting when it works, I avoid Arena like the plague, but I enjoy the PVE side the most. I wasnt being condescending, but I could be if you'd like. I still think the AI should be able to attack first sometimes and people need to be more open to change and not bitch so much. But hey, opinions...

I wouldnt mind if they attacked first more often in the special dungeons. Then they could cut back on the enhanced buffs, odds of triggering or increased HP. Then it could become more even of a fight. That last wave in infernal dungeon was just hard to watch. How many revives with perfect immortality did the bats get.

In regards to the original post in this thread, I know what your talking about, I could not get past AAA level last time round, before reset.
I had to face Gambler Ed, Charlotte with trooper Talisman, Ferryman and I can’t remember the fourth but I think it was Malakhov.
I was only allowed to use Gunners a fraction of which I had already used on other battles, I ended up stuck there, I have my own theories on why this happens.
I think as the character and Talisman list grows the potential combinations get bigger too, we will see this more often, it’s not nessarily harder for the whole of AAA of S or SSS they just throw a couple of real tests at you, if you take the time to change Talisman and come up with a winning combination it is quite a buzz over coming some of those tough ones, more often than not once you get past those hurdles it gets a whole lot easier, until that is that you do the whole rotation...
It was only 4 to 6 weeks ago I went round SSS so many times I ran out of Eddies... Last week AAA was all I could muster...
I have occasionally considered bringing my Gauntlet tales of woe to the brains trust that is these forums, for help.
But without copious photos of what characters I have left and Talisman etc it gets a bit messy... but perhaps that’s what we need! A gauntlet brains trust where we can collectively help a fellow trooper get past a particularly difficult one?

As the pool of potential OP toons/talis grows there is a better chance you will come across them more often. It may be chance, but it seems that they overload their teams with the newer toons while dropping the older weaker ones. If it is random, it's hard to believe I pulled the major in three AAA battles last season.
With any losses it can be tough to complete class restricted levels due to insufficient toons to cleanse or disable passives. It may require more dupes to guarantee gauntlet progression. If the talisman bug would be fixed it may help in choosing your team. Now you can potentially come across any possibility.

I had another team in AA I thought was going to be tough. Witch, musashi, maclo and Pharoah eddie. Blue bomberboy with avenger talis took care of extra turns with his stop and silence, even with his invincibility passive. Dony forget yellow pyro has 70% to inflict stop.

How is this seasons level AAA going for everyone. I had two easy, one difficult and two really challenging opponents this season. Ar least for me this season was easier than the last two. I did win the coin toss on my toughest teams which really helped.

I was once told that some seasons of gauntlet are more challenging than others. I saw a steady increase in difficulty (based on account strength however that’s calculated) and eventually couldn’t clear SSS once when before that I could do it 3x. I guess they wanted it harder all around. When the most recent winner had a win% under 85 you know it’s hard. Winning with 100% and no losses is kind of silly and is like a sports team winning every game of their season— not probable. They’ve tweaked it to fix that it seems like.

I've been trying to beat second battle of second round of SSS (Gambler, KP, Charlotte and Major), and when they attack, all of them get 1 turn, and then when the major attacks, Gambler attacks again, normally destroying my team. Major has Trooper talis btw, so yeah, pretty funny gauntlet

Don’t stress about it too much, I used up a fair few legions getting passed that level only to have f*cking gambler in the one after it as well.
I’m not gonna waste the resources trying anymore I’ve spent several hours trying and couldn’t come up with a team from remaining legions that could even come close, It’s awesome when you can outsmart gauntlet at this level but life is a little bit bigger than one match of gauntlet..

The difficulty has increased this time. Even at early levels challenging setups force strategizing and many talisman swaps. I tend to use the talisman combos Viper Labarynth Alchemy and Redemption on every fight set up, deviating once in a while to counter special characters. Taking time to calculate what characters to use for which AAA fight is very important. These talismans on most any team can clean the floor up to SSS. Running through the roster past 52 fights introduces handicaps that result in lost battles.

Same opponents here on 1st round AA. 5 teams down. Disable passives of whole Team every round, cleanse, heal, ... nothing worked. That‘s just ridiculous! After PvP now Gauntlet also sucks.

Yeah. Same problem here. I'm even maxed out on relics. That, plus some battles take over 30 minutes because of all of the heals and revives. Eventually, I just have to quit because I need to do other things. I think that if you can last 20 rounds in Gauntlet, you should just win. It's at the point where I think this game is very different from the band. Everything here is technical, nerdy, and you have to spend every waking moment playing (or paying) to get anywhere. And even then, getting past AA or AAA is a dream. Now, they're making it harder. Funny enough, the rewards for the higher gauntlet levels aren't even that much better than AA or AAA. Not much for motivation to continue playing. OK... done whining. But please... developers... take note and make the game so there's some path to winning.
