What is the PvP meta?

I have some of the best toons in the game yet every arena battle the AI seems to win out. Am I not doing it right? What is the current best strategy?

Don't feel bad. We're all in the same boat. I got clobbered by a level 40 team against my fully sharded NoTB, Ferryman, S Scout bot and Prisoner. All are wearing maxed talismans and I have the majority of all the relics. Yet, I battle level 100 teams and win 9 out of 10 times. It's crazy right now.

It is a little weird just now. I am not really going for anything more than top 200 as can't be arsed to do battle after battle - just doing a handful each day but no real issues outside the top 200 to be honest - I win most battles - maybe lose the odd one or two a week but not a lot. I have not changed my team so it is the standard older one with Gambler, Charlotte, KP and Madam. Not been passed the top 200 or so for a while so not sure but it looks like there are several different main teams now.

it seems to me once you drop below king 1 4000 you reset at warlord v 2500. It a hell of a lot of work to get back above 4000 as you seem to reset at 3500 at that level.

Gunner Hierophant - various talismans
Magus Hierophant - various talismans
Madam - Singularity or Alchemy

Those comprise most of the high teams and then you will also find a random Ally/Eddie mixed in like

Alchemist
Set

The main focal points of the high teams are Effect Management (both bolster and removal),Defensive Protections and Heal Prevention as well as Damage Mitigation and Invulnerability. High damage/low protection teams are getting less popular as endurance teams are winning out more frequently. The AI is getting smarter and utilizes heals and revives better and targets key teams members more often if it feels a threat.

Is FFE completely out of picture?

It's rare to see FFE in the top 50. I see him more often around 500-1200 range in ranks. Even in the lower tiers all the way down to 1600 you will see many of the same Eddies as the top end but more often you find them paired with

Minotaurs (Gunner/Warrior)
Magus Lillith
Sentinel Maclo, Robo Droid

There are also a handful of guys who run Angel Eddie in the top end and aside from myself running Ramesses you don't see that many other variants. Musashi also appears in the top 50 as well. Forgot to note that.

Very little difference in the talismans either.
Major - Singularity
Charlotte - Viper or Trooper
Alex - Orbit or Dominance/Sacred/Cosmic
Warrior LoL - Trooper or Viper or Valor

Curious as to how these teams fair against each other. Is the winner determined by who goes first?
I will say there is a significant difference in fighting those who spend on Eternity Relics and those who do not. Received my first loss today from someone with this same build but also had the Eternity relics and I lost the war of attrition. I just cant justify the gold unless I was going for the podium. I am also a cheapskate so there is that too.

I am not much in the top 100 - usually around 200 or so for me. There is far more variation this week as lower level players go for the event. So not really had much experience up top. What I will say is that when I have played the top teams it is often a 50/50 thing - some you win, some you lose and very little down to your skills as a player or team creator. More about having those key characters and the talisman to go with them...and then some luck in surviving the first attack and building from that if you can.

I will eventually get back to having a go but at the moment it is the most copied PVP meta I have seen at the top. Well that I can remember.

I play my kids accounts in the arena and so much more fun way lower down the ranks - so many different teams to fight with all sorts of weird an wonderful team set ups - OK a lot do rely on say Ferryman or FFE or something form previous metas but with my kids accounts I have some fun as they do not have the top characters at all so you have to think more on what you are doing though I often go for teams that can wear the best talismans in each account - so my daughter has an all Magus Magic based team as she has Alchemy, Oracle, Singularity and Destiny sets - it can do well but on manual - I used this team last night to farm some BNW and it did not work well at all!! LOL.

Kind of hope we get a meta change or variation soon - it is a little tedious at the top by the looks of it - where I am playing more variation for sure but they you have to change your team a lot more so more time consuming...if you can be bothered of course....and I am lazy sod!
