Gauntlet & past/future skills locked

Has anybody else experienced that future and past abilities of the Eddie is locked?

I'm on AAA in the Gauntlet (Gunners only) and I lost the battle because of this. I'm majorly pissed. This bug (?) now makes it impossible for me to clear AAA.

Also had a message coming up to get temporal shards (or sth) to unlock them. Am I missing something? This is the first time this has happened to me.

I had this happen to me this gauntlet rotation, and just closing and reopening the game fixed it for me, but I also lost a battle because of it. It was like at the beginning of the game when you had to obtain these shards to unlock past/future abilities.
