Only one problem with rating the game I can see, and yes that’s a very good idea btw!
I suspect those ratings get screened before they put them up, surely apple are only going to put up positive feedback, it’s in their own interests?

If you read the reviews they are mostly supportive of the game besides the noted connectivity issues. If I never played the game before and read the reviews I probably would pass on playing.
The one thing I found discouraging was when the devs stated the connectivity issue was a priority , but they will not stop releasing new content. I know they need to make money as everyone does, but they are rapidly losing thier fanbase over this issue. I guess the connectivity issue takes away from the fundamental bugs of buffs unpredictability

If you really want to upset Bruce, start emailing Cardiff Aviation and ask them if their products are as stable as this game!

If aviation products aren’t stable people die. If a mobile game isn’t stable we all just nerd rage. Big difference.
I guess that you missed the humor.

Why would you go after Mr. Dickinson? Steve Harris is the leader of the band. Why not go after Trooper Ale products?

I thought nerd rage was pretty dang funny.
Especially since I would be wiling to bet that back in our 20s when our bad ass unstoppable selves were in the mash pits with long hair screaming the lyrics to every song the last thing we ever thought we would be doing is lamenting the deep woes of a server not dishing out our favorite video game.

Iron Maiden clears over a million dollars per show. If this game were of any concern or priority to them, the band has the financial resources to address the issues. Do not email any companies or individuals outside of LotB support. Developers have said multiple times, you’ll get your account banned if you do. Accept the server issue is frustrating, but at the end of the day the game is just a promotional gimmick for the band. It just needs to work enough, not perfectly, just enough.
The game really isn’t worth getting upset about. We do get upset and vent, but overall it’s not that big of a deal. If the game shut down forever tomorrow it wouldn’t affect the band in the slightest, and players would be free of the addiction!!!

No I didn’t miss it I was just trying (unsuccessfully) to add my own humor.
I'm sorry that I missed it Zugzwang. I was in a really poor mood that morning to be honest.
On a positive note, I now know what zugzwang means! lol

I think it is counter productive to give 1* reviews while you still play the game. By giving the rating you are chasing away potential new players who may spend money to keep the game running. If the game truely deserves a 1* rating then why continue playing the game.
Why not give a true rating with a warning how terrible the connection is currently. I give more credibility to 2 and 3 * ratings of products, because 1 * ratings are from disgrunyly people that are not fairly reviewing the product.

Why would I give a 1* review to a game I still play? Because there are huge systemic issues plaguing this game that leave it unplayable for large periods of time. I want to like this game, I want to rate it higher, but I can't justify any higher than 1*.
If the team changes course, fixes servers and actually starts fixing existing problems faster than adding them I would gladly update it to a higher rating.

I personally ignore one star ratings as rantings. Same as I ignore most 5 star rating as fluff.

Blank ratings always get ignored. My review hits the character limit and I know a few months ago they at least saw it as they put in their copy/paste response about how I should try to contact support.
Does anyone know if they can know somehow that a review they responded to was changed? I still think it deserves 1* but for very different reasons now.

I understand what you are trying to accomplish with giving a low rating to try and improve the overall enjoyment of the game. I find by giving a low rating with a general statement of the game is terrible due to connection issues really is not that informative.
Regardless of the given rating I would find a review more informative and believable with a little background of your experience. I would give the length of time played and some of the nicer points of the game such as, graphics, toon development, tie in to maiden lore, story line etc.
Then I would delve into the negatives. The recent connection issues that can render the game unplayable as a grindathon that the game as become. Then state a few of the other concerns you may have such as, it went from pay to win as all freemium games are to pay to just compete. The pace of toon/talis release which makes 80% of prior releases obsolete, inventory management is inadequately designed. The release of the new OP toons/talis has drasticaly reduced the difficulty of the older game content except to earn skulls which detracts from the original premise of the game.
I would say that for a new player the connection is less of an issue than the long term end gamer. The new players dont have the resources or toons to play the grinds unless they spend alot of money from the beginning. Explaing the statements of unplayable due to connection issues may have more meaning to potential new players. Hopefully the game can become more enjoyable and playable if some of the concerns are addressed.

What’s with the obsession with Justin Beiber Bakura?
It was a joke.
I'm deleting all my posts, except this one.
Apparently you can joke, but when others do it, it upsets you.
Good day, sir.

Justin may have been better than Madonna as a choice. Maybe Backstreet Boys would have worked so a multihitter has a good target.

I get what you're saying but consistently not being able to play is a huge issue whether you're new or old. They're games we should be able to have fun on our own time not plan around server loads.
And honestly if I were rating based on art development, toons, lore and all that other stuff it would only maybe be a 3. It's not bad(usually, some times it actually is) but there is nothing special about it to break it outside of the pack. I stick with it because I like Maiden and have made a few purchases but I'm not going to let the make me ignorant to the flaws in this game.
When it works it's a fun way to pass the time but it was never going to win any awards in any department.
What zugzwang said.
One-star reviews are the only thing that will drive the overall rating down and get anyone's attention in a management meeting where the decisions are actually made.
As it stands, the decision-makers behind this game are driving it into the ground. It WILL die, regardless of our actions. They have the capability to fix it, it's not an unsolvable mystery. They choose not to do it. They choose not to spend money on it.
It is funny.. when you see the Twitter event announcements and practically EVERY comment is about server stability and not the event.
Over the past couple decades I've played countless games and never can I remember an app that refused to connect or crashed as often as this app does. Typically, if there's a connection issue it is corrected in an update shortly after the issue appears. But to be an ongoing issue for more than 6 months is really ludicrous. It would appear to me that the March 2019 update is where issues started.. and then continued.... What EXACTLY was done in March, I can't say. But I do feel it's been ongoing since that particular update.
They don't seem to be willing or able to fully test updates before they're released. More recently, the update that added the "clan" feature broke so many things that have yet to be patched.

As I said a time ago "this game is dead", the people here in this forum laughed about me and didn't want to believe it.
Now everybody is crying like a child.

I asked about testing during the dev Q&A and they admitted to not really testing because they are a small team. In my dev job we only ever have 2 people testing each change (the dev who made the change and the QA person in charge of that area) and we don't seem to have any problems of this magnitude with our larger (and frankly more critical) app.
So I'm guessing it's either a lack of commitment to fully testing, not knowing how test properly (it's a learned skill and which is why people get hired just for testing), or their test environment is too drastically different from the live environment to have any real hope of finding some errors.
I'm hoping it's the last one as that is a known quandary in development. Even a team of 200 can't truly replicate tens of thousands of people actively playing while still doing their jobs. That one we (as an industry) do what we can and try our best but at the end of the day, it's a numbers game that is just unwinnable.
