Any point saving Catalyst or Talisman souls for summoning event?

I've been saving up my souls for the next summoning event, but wasn't sure if they ever count the non toon souls in any of those. I'd just as soon open them all now if there's no benefit to waiting.

Use can use them to meet your daily challenge requirements. Use them instead of toon souls if you want to save them for a sac event.
