Scrooge Eddie is making his Legacy of the Beast debut!

Put a Stake of Holly through your enemies hearts! Scrooge Eddie is a 5* Magus who strikes with magic attacks and negative effects. His icy stare is sure to Freeze anyone who dares cross his path. His, passive ability, ‘Bah! Humbug’, has a 50% chance to cleanse negative effects (including silver effects) and heals self when you or any ally takes damage. It will also remove 2 random beneficial and golden effects from all enemies when you take damage.

From now until January 2nd, 4 PM PT, brace yourself against the cold and delve into our latest Dungeon - Tiny Tim’s Revenge! This snowy Dickensian Dungeon comes with its own unique storyline and 4 difficulty settings!

The first time you complete Normal, Hard or Madness, you will be granted with set rewards including Christmas Souls and Snow Talismans. Beat Insanity to earn a host of other rare set rewards including a Catalyst Soul, T3 Evo Runes and Talisman Epic Soul Fragments. All subsequent victories are guaranteed to provide Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments and Snowflake Fragments, as well as a chance of up to 2 bonus rewards, including Singularity Talismans.

Snowflake Fragments are part of our Arctic Avalanche event, and can be traded in store (see Arctic Avalanche post for full details (https://forum.ironmaidenlegacy.com/showthread.php?12766-Arctic-Avalanche-Info-and-Discussion)).

Magus Possessed Snowman fragments can be used in two different ways!

Christmas Soul x1 (320 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, UNLIMITED)
Christmas Soul Pack (3 Souls) x1 (880 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, UNLIMITED)
Christmas Soul Mega-Pack (10 Souls) x1 (2500 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, UNLIMITED)
Heroic Legendary Soul 1x (750 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, 1 per event)
Catalyst Soul x1 (500 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, 2 per event)
Skill Shard x1 (250 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, 5 per event)
Rare Soul x1 (100 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments, 10 times per event)


2) Obtain a Magus Possessed Snowman - Not Recommended until AFTER event!

Use 400 Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments to claim a Magus Possessed Snowman Soul. The Magus Possessed Snowman Soul is guaranteed to grant a 4★ Magus Possessed Snowman.

Converting Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments into their Souls and/or opening those Souls is not reversible, so please avoid converting your Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments until after this event is over.

After the event is over you can then claim a Snowman Soul in order to add to your character pool, or have fodder for your next big Sacrifice. Alternatively, you could convert these fragments into Precious Soul Fragments!

Christmas Soul Details

The Christmas Soul is a limited time event soul which guarantees a 3★ to 5★ character of any class. This soul has an increased chance of summoning all previous Christmas characters and an exclusive chance of summoning Scrooge Eddie, The Ghost of Jacob Marley and the 3 Ghosts of Christmas - Past, Present, and Future!

This Soul will drop as part of the first time victory rewards in the Tiny Tim’s Revenge Dungeon, and you can earn Christmas Soul Fragments, as well as Soul Talismans, by completing Event Challenges.

Christmas Souls can also be purchased in the store using Magus Possessed Snowman Fragments.

Each Christmas Soul summoned will also grant the following bonus rewards:

10 Scrooge Eddie Soul Fragments
10 Krampus Soul Fragments (Assassin or Gunner)
10 Christmas Ghost Soul Fragments (Sentinel or Gunner)
10 Christmas Ghost Soul Fragments (Magus or Assassin)



Collecting 1000 Scrooge Eddie Soul Fragments guarantees one 5★ Magus Scrooge Eddie!

Collecting 750 Krampus Soul Fragments will create a soul that will give you either the 5★ Assassin or Gunner Krampus!

Collecting 500 Christmas Ghost Soul Fragments (Sentinel or Gunner) will create a soul that will give you either the 5★ Sentinel Ghost of Christmas Present or Gunner Ghost of Christmas Past!

Over 20 attempts and I've managed 1 time through Madness (and it crashed at the Victory chest) and 2 times through Insanity.

I got through Madness fine and am running insanity now, but had to exit just now as it kinda hung up in a loop.
Been using Van Helsing or BHE.
W LOL and A WW, and then G Desert Guardian since I have yet to pull Prisoner for passive disabling. Can probably find much quicker team but will run as is for now.
Probably 50 insanity runs and about 3 minutes each.

On auto, I'm using M LOL (celestial, cosmic), Mystic Ed (inspiration, sustaining, cosmic immunity, random) , Alchemist (yin, yang) & Derby Demon (orbit). No losses yet, about between 3 and 4 minutes.

No crash issues here. After many trials that all resulted in errors on autoplay. I finaly found a team on MANUAL with only magic characters. Since two of them ar not sharded it took ages to pass the level. (running time 8 - 9 mnts)

M Football Eddie Argetina (chance + future)
M Werewolf (tower + health)
Inugami, M Dog Spirit (banner + health) to block damage and stay alive
M Shardborne (singularity)

It's struggle every round until you can use the fury that grants ascension ...

Time consuming but it works

LOL XV has onyx and shardborn frags. XIV has just shardborn, not sure if lower have those though.

Good luck on the sentinel insanity challenge. I’ve tried about 10 different teams/tali combos and maybe got past the first wave twice? And I have not even come close to winning let alone with all toons alive. Sentinel tali color limitations are a problem here.

Oh and I’m not talking auto here either - 100% manual and they are still wiping the floor with my ass.

Really like the location, the ice skaters are wonderful! Lovely bit of writing too, had a good chuckle reading through the dialogue.

Feels quite difficult, lots of ghosts with permadeath immunity, and so many silver effects being thrown around. Going to be quite tricky without characters like Dark Lilith and Charlotte.

Haven't crashed, but have been stuck on the loading screen whenever I try taking an assassin team into Normal. Both on my phone and emulator.

For those with crashing issues; I had a similar issue a while back with a couple of games. I found that closing all unneeded apps that were running simultaneously/running in the background helped, as well as cleaning cache. Finally, I uninstalled a couple of apps that I don't run often to free up memory space and storage on my device.

Only just starting out on this one. The first two levels are fine to do on auto for me. Magus level is OK too, using:

Bass Eddie (Alchemy/Cosmic)
Ferryman (Hex/Dragon)
Wicker Evolved Owl (Singularity)
Dark Clair (cant remember)

All good so far but Bass Eddie did come close to death a couple of times. So should be fine to 15 completed.

Insanity not tried a Sentinel team yet on auto.

I like the look of it - really quite cool and story was pretty decent too. All in all a decent looking dungeon so well done to the team for that.

I see others have put up Sentinel teams so it looks do able. Not sure I can be bothered with the massive grind on this one as I always have next to no luck on xmas characters first time round - every year it is the same for me so not too bothered if I miss out on a few of them...or al of them as I expect!

No problems with loading here.. just consistent crashing... took me nearly 5 hours to do 15 insanity runs (manually) with Sentinels - and cost me at least 800SOT for those 15 runs.

But with BHE/W LOL/Dark Lilith/Moonchild.. the crashing seems to have subsided. (fingers crossed)

yup, dumb question.... but have you tried turning down the graphic settings to minimum levels? sound off, etc...? I would try to minimize the resources the phone needs to run the app. I have android, but I have the graphics turned down to minimum and all the sounds off. My game damn near always runs smooth, even when others are complaining about crashes and connection issues. I ran insanity all night auto, no problems. Got about 300 runs in over my 5 hour sleep.

I really wish I could help figure out your crashing issues, it's so bizarre.

Wow, Insanity on this dungeon is well...insane. I'm getting my ass handed to me. I can get through madness with all mages but not on auto.

I doubt I'll get the frags for Scrooge Eddie unless I tell my family on Christmas that I'm too busy grinding in a mobile game to do anything. I actually managed to pull the Ghost of Christmas Present, who seems quite good. Generally, if I get one featured character during these things I feel content.

What’s making insanity so tough is the first wave with 5 ghosts. Between the long passives and talis things are so convoluted it’s almost impossible to figure who is doing what effect and why to be able to counter it.

That said I do have a sentinel team that can win manually - but maybe 40% of the time at best. I tried Yups team (subbing onyx son for the ghost which I don’t have) and it was calamity - never came close to passing wave 1.

This is my point - there is so much going on with passives and talis that it’s too hard to track cause and effect. I like a challenge that requires thought and strategy but this is to the point I’d have to build a spreadsheet and start analyzing to be effective. I get paid for that crap - I’m not about to start doing it for fun during my free time.

I definitely build spreadsheets for fun in my free time. BUT in this case, there are so many bugs in the interactions between skills and effects and talismans and passives, that I don't believe a spreadsheet would explain what's happening.

Sup had a team suggestion similar to this one. Try S Onyx Son, or any green guy that can carry alchemy I think. He also listed Wicker Ox if you have him to try in the mix.

These toons are pretty common nowadays. I saw a much better team in another post, but not everyone has maxed D. Lilith or the new Eternity toons.

Awakened Alchemist now has 85% chance to turn enemies gold buffs to a silver neg, as opposed to his original 50%.
This really takes care of ghosted enemies quick (especially using Blight talis.)

He's working great and hits harder than ever.
I think this dungeon is bugged, cuz the Blight wil still allow him to use his fury once in awhile, but never his special.... so better than w/ out Blights, cuz then he does his fury every turn and never cleanses.

I read someone else saying they had similar issues w/ Blights in this dungeon.

I have maybe 300 runs and just a half hour ago I had a singularity drop. Checked inventory and that's the only stray one I have, so if you need a full set, be prepared for a lot of runs. Think you can pick up a few in the store if needed to finish a set. I'll have to check subtypes, not sure if I have a set of this one yet.

In the Book of Souls, clicking the (!) icon near the top right will show you the percentage drops from the Christmas Soul. You have to do a little bit of extra maths to work it out for each specific character, but there is a higher than normal chance of getting a 5* compared with regular Rare souls. Better chances than regular event souls too, but arguably harder to get.

Hmm, the 4* characters might be slightly harder to obtain than the 5*. If I'm doing my numbers right, 12.20% for a 4*, with then a 37.75% chance for the event characters. So 4.6055%. There are 9 of those, so... 0.5117% for a specific 4* character.

4.20% for a 5*, with a high 78.73% of an event character. 3.30666%. Only 5 of those, bringing us to 0.661% for a specific 5*. Hah, I'm more likely to get Scrooge than Coalgiver :p

Why does it seem like there's a pattern with these event dungeons, where as time goes by, the team you used on day 1 stops being effective and you have to change your team.

My 99% team started getting Defeats and taking longer.
So I changed some talis around and switched out a character.

This team is the quickest I've used as of yet, and 100% so far.

Best time 1:33 / Avg.1:56 on Auto.

I tried the Hartacus team too, it was 3+ mins. for me, and I have all the relics.
I tried a few different teams, all were about 2.5 to 3.5 mins.

Once I started using Assassin LoL it got 1.5 mins. faster. His fury just rains down damage. I put Inspiration on A. Ww. so as he counters he also reduces buffs and then A. LoL just ends it.
Or if they are all ghosted, the perf. death from the Forge ends it.

Whenever I would suffer Defeats w/ other teams, it was always from Coalgiver Ed.
The A. LoL gives the team perf. Force shield and kills Ed before he gets going. A. LoL also doesn't take damage until the rest of the team is dead.

I have found a team that has worked without defeats in two mega refills, so I though I'd share (all relics are maxed):
Alternate cyborg (persecution/warlord/t3 cyborg cosmic) - persecution could be swapped with sacred
Killer prime (sustaining/warlord/inspiration)
Killer (Forge/future t3 cosmic)
A Warewolf (starfire)

Basically the Killer disables passives, killer prime permadeaths and starfires destroy the ghosts in the first round, without my toons dying due to forge talis. Sometimes 1 or 2 toons die, but the cyborg can solo most rounds except for the first.

Best time is less than 2mins

Pretty sure those are gotten just from the 10 frag groups you get from each Christmas soul. 1000 for Scrooge and so on listed in the event list.

I tried Alex w/ Vipers too..... he keeps stealing ghost and then dies.
I stopped using Alex, but if you have to, use another tali, like orbit. The Vipers cause him to counter attack, so if he stops countering he then steals ghost much less.

You're forgetting that we get up to 16 Christmas souls through the event achievements and first time completion of the first three difficulties. You really only need 21,500 frags

So your math should be:

1,433.33...×12= 17,200sot
17,200÷120=143.33... sot refills
143.33...×30= 4,300 ironite

It's only a savings of 700 ironite but with the constant events every single ironite matters.

My original insanity farm team was reliable but slow. Last night got average run time down to under 2 minutes so it's going much faster now.
Ironite use doesn't seem too bad if you've spent the last 2 weeks farming LOL XV like I have.

You can buy the packs for $$$, but you're right, not for ironite. Yes, I've been grinding since the start, but my first few days were much slower. Gave up on Sentinel Insane challenge after 2 hours. Had the suggested toons and talismans but must not have the relics high enough. Mid level global relics but no sentinel specific and no free coins to buff with at the moment. Rewards for it aren't enough for me to revisit at this point.

I've bought them before and this time too. It makes a difference, but I think the boost is based on Base stats. The higher your relic boost the less noticable these will be. If you're getting wiped out in battles this probably won't be enough, but if you are close it will help for sure. Just need to figure out if the gold cost is worth it. I wouldn't have gotten them this time but I'm also running LOL farming, and this time it boosts LOL dungeon too.

The red-eye drops were really rare, I think I pulled 4-5 4*Toons, no 5*. At least all 4* were christmas toons (coalgiver, 2x wickerdeer, Ghost of any christmas)

Running the final runs for the 1000 frags and I get all I "need" - that´s ok but could have been better, of course ;)

Finally stopped trying to make Insanity work and used a couple of mega-refills on Madness yesterday. Got my first 10-pack of souls, and was expecting the old blue-eyed monster to say hello.

Instead pulled G Krampus and the Blue Ghost! That's my Christmas luck all used up :cool:


Continuing on Madness will probably cost me a fair bit more in ironite than those able to farm Insanity, but there is still over a week left to go, so I might stick with it, try at least to get one of the 5* ghosts. And hopefully Coalgiver.

Really annoying that I have to collect another 500 xmas souls.. so 12,500 frags to get another shot at Gunner Ghost via frags.... which in all probability will again drop the Sentinel Ghost. If they are going to have 2 character in 1 frag collection they REALLY ned to lower the frag requirement like they did for the assassin/magus ghosts.

I'm still farming on madness, the ironite return is around 50%, it's not break-even. The SoT drops are pretty negligible too, I've been getting ~68 runs per mega-refill, which mean the average run cost gets reduced from 10 to just below 9. The double drop of Possessed Snowman Fragments is also rather uncommon, the average fragment drop per run is just over 9 (instead of the usual 8). Also haven't had a single Skill Shard or Singularity drop in 400 Madness runs. Frontier Coin drops aren't too impressive either, had 40 from my last 150 runs.


Now we're half way through the event, what do you all think of the new characters? Are any of them game-changers? Any super useful for certain dungeons or challenges?

I don’t get any iron Ironite back. It’s nearly the same as it was with cyborg dungeon. Everybody was posting how much SoT he got back and, yet, I was still wondering ... now the same problem. As I assumed earlier to have a total cost of about 2k ironite. In the meanwhile after around 2k runs in madness I think my costs are about 2,5k ironite and I still need 10 Xmas souls more. So it will go up to around 3k at the end.

And during the same time another dungeon event has started of which I’m certain, I won’t achieve the goals, so I better not try because of the lack of more time/needed toons/and ironite..

Got all the ghosts, Nutcracker and assassin Krampus so far. (Some with fragments). Should be getting Scrooge in two days. Happy with the event.

The 4th wave with gunner Krampus in insanity seems to have some bug. Sometimes Krampus puts a ton of marks when he attacks. The wickerdeers aren't responsible for that because they are still alive. None of them have any talismans that could apply marks. Not sure what is happening there.

Honestly I just take whatever is good for me from this kind of events. I'll grind enough to get the guaranteed 5* ghost and hope to see the yellow one. I got the other 4* from the souls I opened (1 from the ass/magus) and don't really expect to see Scrooge in the next 15 souls I'll open towards my last goal. The only things I am concerned about is missing a nice 5* magus ed which will be really helpful during next magus based season in gauntlet. I hope that they will refresh the magus roster before that season comes cause nowadays they wouldn't stand a chanche in AAA against strong meta teams.

There is an interesting bug with the Yellow Ghost's beneficial effect removal passive. When it removes a snow shield at the beginning of a battle, it causes the shield to explode as if it had been broken with damage, instead of removed. I wrote about it, and my testing to replicate it the bugged character thread here (https://forum.ironmaidenlegacy.com/showthread.php?12734-Compendium-of-Bugged-Chars-Talismans&p=116158&viewfull=1#post116158). Has anyone else noticed that happening with any of the other exploding shields? I don't have a Green Minotaur to test Stone Shield, or the Magma Beast Eddie for the Magma Shield.

I was thinking of opening 50 souls and stopping there, as I'd already got lucky with the Gunner Krampus and Gunner Ghost from regular souls, but I somehow got my numbers wrong and ended up with 600/1000 Scrooge fragments... and hoo boy is the sunk cost fallacy hitting hard! If I use an emulator all day, and my phone overnight, I can get the ~1000 runs I'll need to get the grumpy old man. Will take over 50 hours.

This will hopefully be the last event dungeon I'll ever need to farm madness for! Got a taste for Insanity from the Cyborg, but just don't have a reliable way to handle silver debuffs for this one. On the plus side, I will never, ever, ever run out of Cosmic XP Shards!



Oddly enough, after 850 runs without any trouble, I had two defeats earlier today. Just an incredibly unlucky situation where several things all went wrong at the same time. Have swapped out Killer Prime for the Gunner Ghost, sacrificing Curse for a more reliable Buff Removal passive. Hopefully there wont be any more defeats in the next 850 runs.

Really haven't taken time to look at the new toons but it sounds like Scrooge would be useful. You'll have to decide if it's worth it for you to keep grinding for him.

It would seem all the crashing is related to loading of cinematics - either between battles or at the end with the victory cinematics. And it'll crash when there's no more SOT left rather than presenting the popup.... if running troopers it'll crash every 3 or 4 runs or more often. Without Troopers it'll crash every 10-15 runs. I'm actually AMAZED when I can burn through 100-150 SOT without a crash.

Seriously... total shit. Devs stop placing multiple rare characters together in a single high frag souls for an event unless the OTHER character will ACTUALLY drop. I've claimed those frags no less than 4 times and all 4 times have been the S ghost. And then I got like 8 other S ghosts from the xmas souls........ but in hundreds of souls STILL have NEVER seen the Gunner Ghost. WTF???

He's often the first to die though and this team doesn't have a "reviver" on it -- but Alchemist with Labyrinths should hold up.

I have opened 91 Christmas souls so far. I haven't gotten very many of the actual Christmas characters from it except...
5 were Gunner Krampus. I don't even know what I'm going to do with them all. I capped and sharded one, and put three at level 1 unsharded on my Arena Defense team as a joke. I guess I'll sacrifice the 5th?

I got Coalgiver with the 10 first souls... and its a dupe for me... If there would be a way to give it to you I´d do it!!

Besides Coalgiver I only got Sentinel Ghost from the Souls (opened 90 already, everything else was bleh...) but I´m really happy though, I had with fragments every other new toon and my missing A. Krampus! just a little more to Scrooge and I´m done.

Got him 2 times this year and to be honest already had him several times. I sacrificed him 4 times during this year and still have one.

But I got the same gunner/sentinel ghost problem as you celo. Got 2 times G ghost out of G/S soul. Still missing S ghost 👻. Gosh

Didn’t change the positions. I’m sure the team would be faster if Crimean began. But it was safe auto farming though.

But 1 time the game got stuck, when Crimean used frozen flesh for S ghost. Ghost was frozen permanently and was ghosted. As he couldn’t act and finish his 1 round, the counter never reached zero and he didn’t die.

It's half that rate, works out at a 0.51% chance for Coalgiver each soul. So your 240 isn't too unlucky.

Would have liked to get my hands on a Coalgiver for ego reasons, but quite pleased I managed to get all the ghosts and krampuses in the 100 event souls. They should give my roster a well needed boost :)

Im my last attempt to get the Coalgiver and Sentinel Ghost, I got them, last 10 pack soul I opened popped up Coalgiver, after with 500 fragments I got Sentinel Ghost, so after 150 Souls and 2138 runs on tiny team dungeon, Im done with this event. :)

Still missing S ghost. Since X-Mas toons have been released I’m only missing him.
Maybe next X-Mas event 🎄🎅🏻😂.

And the most annoying thing about that is the fact that I got 2 chances to get him out of the ghost souls but got G ghost 2 times.

Killer Prime? More like Killing-My-View-By-Being-So-Massive Prime.
Yep! I mentioned previously about the camera angle making it extremely difficult to target & get perfect hits, especially if they have perf. blind.

I found my self having to time his "sway" for a gap to open up in order to target enemies in the middle, especially ghosts.

Sadly I got sentinel ghost twice and no past ghost. I got Marley 3 times and not the other. Poor luck. Odds are really only 1/8 to do that.
