A 1 week Frontier Dungeon grinding event, on top of the Tiny Tim Dungeon grinding event, during Christmas week.
This event couldn’t have been held over until January?
The amount of ironite required for SoT refills for a 1 in 5 chance to maybe get the Eddie you need?
Definitely an event to skip, honestly it’s a bit insulting to have even released such an unrealistic event for majority of players.

Good thing I already have those characters because I don't have time to waste my resources running dungeons during a grind event for characters that are probably going to become irrelevant in a few weeks or months.

Devs.. PLEASE see about the consistent crashing. Perhaps it's due to the unreal engine or whatever the base code is.. but it's pretty horrid with roughly a 70% chance of crashing. Especially for new content, making any 'grind event' pure frustration an annoyance. Tiny Tims dungeon is still crashing consistently here - I can't do more than 3 or 4 runs before there's a crash.

I thought this was supposed to be a boss run? Those are fun. This...looks exhausting. I looked through the event challenges list and it didn't seem so bad at first, but then I saw the 20 Labyrinth Dungeon runs and I was like "naaaah." Back to the Tiny Tim dungeon.

Already have Samurai Emperor, Aces Bomber and VH. Not risking putting the grind in just to pull a dupe when I still have Christmas characters to get. And last time the the Halloween Heroics I got 2 Musashi. Not falling for that one again

It's going to finally force me into some of these dungeons! Which probably means I'll be able to throw a few quick images together to help other first-timers know what to expect in terms of difficulty.

I don't think I'll realistically be able to complete all of the challenges, but hopefully I can reach 400/600 fragments, and hope to find some cash in my Christmas cards :cool::p

Biggest issue is challenges such as 10 Eternal Dungeon runs.. that means 4 keys... and you'll only need the 4th key for the 10th tun, assuming you win the other 9. I mean, they couldn't have made it 9 runs??

For once dear devs...Just for once..Allow us to choose the character we miss. Not only do you make it harder with two overlapping heavy-grind events, but you give us a direct hit with an RNG based soul, which we all know it is going to lead to a dupe.

I´m almost done with the christmas dungeon, so there could be time for this new event. Going to the awards it will be rather high costs of whatever you choose to invest (Coins, FC, real cash) for the chance of 1/5 special toons.
The Rotation in the Mythical Halloween souls seemed more attractive to me than this one, as I already have three of these guys - I would be glad about the Pharao Ed, as he looks better than that samurai, but I´ll bet, it will be this General once again to me.

I´ve seen there are other ways to spend the holiday frags, not really sure, which way I will go, as far as there are still a lot of dungeon achievements to reach....

I remember one Event where we had the chance to grind Frags and then CHOOSE one/two of some selected Toons. That´s where I got my Iron Maiden Ed and Virtual Ed from and it felt more worth grinding the event achievements than this one (although many users would be thankful with VHE! That´s a fast comeback).

In stores they REALLY need to make it more obvious what kind of frags you're spending. In the past I've wasted souls a couple times because they looked like something else. Spell it out in the pop-up before you buy or something.
What are the odds support would be able to reverse the transaction? Not sure if they are set up to do that easily.

To all those complaining about frags looking the same, I've brought this up in a customer service ticket and was flat out told they won't bother fixing it because it would be too hard.

I guess the dev and or design team only knows of one colour.

They don't need to change images or anything else: just specify the currency used IN TEXT on the pop-up and allow you to cancel from there. "You're about to spend 100 Holiday fragments. Are you sure?" That is NOT that hard a thing.

Decks had a certain number of common, uncommon and rare cards in them, but it was rng what you would get. If you wanted specific characters you bought a theme deck. (Almost just like this event.)

600, and that's all you can earn. Can buy 600 more. Saw someone say they got 3 chars so not sure if I misunderstood what they are saying, or maybe their is a way to get more? Waiting on an answer from them.

The soul requires 600 fragments to claim. There are 600 available if you do all the event challenges. And 600 in total from buying the "holidy fragments mega pack" three times. Which is the maximum you can buy it.

So you get 1 or 2 attempts at these characters.

So, you must do the whole event to be able to claim one soul? That's a little too much... I finished Mayan dungeon challenges a few weeks ago and go for another 15 runs when the total original achievement was 30, it's just crazy (only 3 runs per key, and 50 sot per run)

Probably you're aiming to a big group of people whos not doing the dungeons (which is comprehensible) but it´s a bit too much for the middle players who already have some dungeons done, besides, having in mind that you can´t choose your missing toon. I feel this one is not designed for a lot of us, shame.

I was hoping there was more to it.. like the character plus awakening runes or souls or evolution stuff and gold.. but nope.. just the character... I pulled a dupe VHE, would have preferred the Fieldmarshall to be honest, but to be fair they are all dupes for me.

I've talked about skipping Events before, but this one really takes the cake. Dungeon keys are expensive to acquire and expensive to run. My SoT reserves are doing quite nicely, and I don't need a duplicate VHE or the others bad enough to blow it all. For that and SNOWFLAKE frags.

Once I've got enough frags for the Event Eddie in the Tiny Tim dungeon, I'll be fine with whatever other event toons I got. Just missing one Krampus and one 4* ghost. Then, back to GRINDING FOR GOLD so I can afford to do some Awakening. This whole thing here is a pass.

Note that after getting the Giving Ghost and awakening/catalyst souls with snow frags.. I've gotten some decent stuff by converting those frags to souls. And I still collect thousands of frags in a quest for ONE of the ghosts I'm missing (gunner). Of course, I'm aware that I may be screwing myself if they release something great for snow frags at the end of the month...

Maybe for you, running those dungeons is completely abnormal for me since I spend most of my time farming whatever event is running. On the off time I'm either running powerslave for Ironite/leveling or LOL dungeon for those elusive awakening materials.

That would be cool, give people a final warning before making the purchase. I like how they were recently able to include a timer for the time-limited store items. Hopefully they'll be able to build upon what they came up with making that possible, to make other changes in the future.

Hahah yes, MtG is a real-life gacha game! And it's only got worse in recent years with all the newer higher rarities and special editions and limited collections. I used to be a bit of a collector myself, but the constant and increasing stream of new releases slowly drained my passion for it. These days I'll just buy the cards I want from the secondary market, not going to waste time or money buying the random packs.

Yeah, the more I look at this event, the more confused I get. Only end-game players can complete this one without having to spend money. And those players probably already have at least a couple of the reward characters. Newer/middle players likely don't have any of those characters and would benefit the most from the reward soul, but also wont stand a chance in the high-level frontier dungeons.

This next section is mostly theoretical, as I've not done most of these dungeons key, and may be massively over/under-estimating their difficulties.

400 is the cut-off you want to reach so you can complete the reward soul with only a single purchase.

Looking over the list, 290/600 shouldn't be too hard to reach:
Daily (40), Trooper(40), Airstrip(50), Viral(50), Raven(50), & Gangland(60) = 290.

Cosmic (40) would add another 40, but could take multiple keys, unless you've got a team that can handle all possible class-restriction variants. That would brings us to 330 fragments.

Then you've got Labyrinth (60), Mayan (60), Infernal (70), and Eternal (80). Infernal or Eternal plus Cosmic would reach 400. Or without Cosmic, you'd need to combine any two of those dungeons. Mayan and Eternal both require multiple keys.

Are my difficulty-estimations correct? Which dungeons would you recommend to reach the 400 mark? Is Infernal doable?

Azagthor, I did all but infernal and eternal. I accidently wasted 50 frags in the store so I'm at 400 and will buy the last 200. I had never run Mayan or Labyrinth before. Mayan isn't too bad if you have the toons, but 3 run limit means at least 5 keys, and I had 3 losses. Didn't have Necropolis for achievement but did run Mayan priestess for that credit.
Labyrinth was a bitch trying to run all toons for the 3 achievements. Lots of losses but I got the runs I needed for this. Not sure if I could have completed infernal or eternal, bit after wasting those 50 frags there was to point in trying.

I think that if you are missing some or most of the available characters in this event, you should try a different strategy. Instead of trying to reach achievements simply try to complete the number of runs needed in the dungeons to get your holiday fragments. If you have the right teams, of course try to also complete achievements along the way.

Infernal is pretty easy with most newer Assassin class 5 stars.... Eternal Champ, Dark Lilith, Prince Wrath, Beast, Van Helsing, Cosmic Shinobi, etc. It's do-able without these, but if you have these, it's kind of a snap.

Bought the last 200 frags needed and pulled Pharaoh Ramesses. With all the grinding, SoT, keys, and $20 cash that was a very expensive pull. Just happy as hell it wasn't another Van Helsing.
Back to grinding Tiny Tim dungeon for a few days. Have all the toons except for Coalgiver, which kinda pisses me off. About 140 souls opened so far and think the odds are about half a percent to get him on each soul, so 5% for each 10 pack.

The daily dungeon is the one you get from a key earned by completing all the daily challeges.

The cosmic dungeon is from a talisman key. It's the dungeon you have to use a specific ific class only team.

Did some first runs in the Maya "dungeon" because of this event. What a stupid coin toss "dungeon", really. Thanks Bakura and Stromseye for your other post. I used Strom's team, but also have several defeats (when I lost the toss and/or magus crimean soldier did not get an extra turn). Labs on Shaman often block all 6 attacks from my Necro...they get one extra turn after the other. This level is a pure rip-off (50 SoT!?!?) in my perspective and I am happy if I never need to go here again (despite dropping some keys (even for maya, lol) as rewards is a nice thing).

Darkmoon Lilith wipes out the Shaman team easily. Add Prince Wrath and get the atk boost, and crave from his passive, plus his Perfect Death infliction. Use VHE (or Celestials) to block damage in case you lose the coin toss.

For the achievements (not just this event) I found fighting in the Necropolis dungeon easier. I used the Necropolis dungeon to complete both achievements.

As I said, I use storms team with Alex (Orbit), magus crimean (greed/warlord), warrior maya (celest) and necro (viper). Works good, but it is not 100%

Yeah the Shaman dungeon is rough for the achievements. Necropolis can be easier once you realize permadeath helps.. and block Physical/True damage and they can't hurt you -- Orbit and Siege talismans help there.

For what it's worth.. Scrooge ed, with his passive to remove gold buffs when hit.. REALLY comes in handy in several dungeons. He's now my go to Ed for LOL 14-15. I ran him in the Shaman dungeon and he worked well.. but I did have Darkmoon Lilith and Prince Wrath along.

The team I used was Angel Ed, count Dracula, necropolis, mayan priestess. Use counts power move to put crave on necropolis and hit with necropolis.

This event is nothing more than a flat out cash grab.

You have to complete all of the tasks to earn enough frags to get ONE holiday soul. You can also buy 1 soul for 60$ or so... (depending on your exchange rate etc.) Or you can buy shards and complete tasks to get ONE holiday soul. Past that you can get 5* cosmic runes, skill shards, or awakening souls for these fragments. Yeah... not worth it.

Devs basically yall did a really nice job of saying here's a set of tasks for a chance to get one of five fairly rare characters that most of you will want to have, BUT here's the thing only part of you will be able to get without any problems. The rest of you will have to spend money to buy the additional shards you can't collect.

Devs... I think you MISSED it here. The people that don't need to spend money are the ones that for the most part already HAVE these characters.

Toss that onto the pre-existing grind quest and the SoT cost there and yeah yall fecking blew it. Then again why should we the fans and the players be surprised by this showing of managements true colors yet again. The greed is obvious.

For what its worth I am not bothering to complete this one. Once I realised the following I decided it was a waste of time, basically it went I have to do all the tasks, I don't have all the keys, the probability of completing one or two tasks is slim, and I had already spent money on the game to attempt to get a character I actually wanted. And while I didn't get a magus hierophant I got 3 sets of the light talisman and would happily have traded all three sets for the hierophant...

Any chance you accidently made purchases you thought were with snowflake frags but it was holiday frags? I know I did by accident and one other person mentioned they made the same mistake.
They looked very close the first night they showed up and I didn't think anything of it. Lucky I only had 60 at the time and I ran out or I'd have kept buying the 50 Frag thing until they were all gone.

Gathered up the frags, got a worthless dupe, just as expected. Really wish this event was like the 3rd anniversary celebration one where you could actually choose which character you want, instead of RNG picking it for you. So, still no Ramesses for me.

10 min. before the end of the event I finished the last fight in eternal dungeon (with heavy losses and some revives though). But it was totally worth it. Got from holiday soul ‘aces bomber’ 😇🤘🏻.

I ended up getting bored and doing this event. It was fun getting into some of the dungeons I hadn't tried yet.

End result is I'm doing Viral so I can get the Eddie for Gangland. Also working on getting the new Eternal characters.
