This might sound like a dumb question but on the arena defence tab where it says victory/defeat which one means the team attacking you lost the battle.

Still learning the arena but have hit a lot higher ranking since getting clairvoyant and magus werewolf, beating higher ranked teams

Currently sitting at duelist II on 1959

Werewolf lv 96 partially sharded
Clairvoyant lv59 partially sharded

My defense is one Eddie 3* level 1. I started putting a low level Eddie to encourage people to do the same and doing so, exchange Iron coins (IC). I mean, I don't see me in T100 anytime soon and all I need from PvP are IC to buy the most relics I can. If I'm not mistaken, we need around 250K IC to max all the relics. That's a lot of 10 IC match to play! lol
