Earn Mercenary Soul Fragments and other Rare Rewards in the Gauntlet.

Our sixth Gauntlet season starts now and will run until April 12th at 5pm PT. Battle through 11 Grades of Gauntlet, each presenting unique challenges and rewards to earn a place on our Ranked Leaderboard. The Ranked Rewards for Season 6 will feature Mercenary Fragments, in addition to other rewards.

You will have 10 weeks (until the end of Season 6) to earn enough Mercenary Fragments from the Gauntlet to summon him, after that he will be much more difficult to obtain, as he won’t be featured in any other soul.

The Mercenary is a 5 star Warrior hero-class ally with extremely potent skills. Armed with his combat knife, The Mercenary strikes from the shadows and dispatches foes with ruthless efficiency. His passive ability, Nowhere to Hide, ensures all his attacks land Perfectly, gives him Immunity to all Silence and Skill Disabling effects and grants his allies Perfect Vanish and Golden Trap for 2 turns at the start of battle. It will also ensure he gains Perfect Vanish for 2 turns after every action.

Beware the Mark of Diablo! The Mercenary is able to place this unique Mark on a random enemy at the start of his turn. The Mark of Diablo prevents the target from reviving, gaining beneficial effects, and causes them to take additional random damage equal to 10% of their MAX HP when they take damage.

Players who make it to Grade A and above will also be awarded Final Frontier Eddie Fragments!

Final Frontier Eddie Fragments can be collected over several Gauntlet seasons. Once you have 1,000 Fragments, you will earn a Guaranteed Final Frontier Eddie.

The knife the Merc is holding is about as far away from reality as a knife can get. And if anyone tells me that he is wearing spiked knuckles I am going to laugh at them. Considering those spikes are on the top of his hand it has to be part of the knife. And if that is a hand piece where is goes all the way around the hand I am going to ask you how in the heck is he holding onto the knife? Because that would be a lot of crap to wrap your hand around and it would make being able to even use the knife so awkward as to be useless. But the knife.... yeah its bad. Redeeming qualities include I didn't draw it. Please start watching Forged In Fire so you have a better reference to how a knife actually functions.

As much as I enjoy Forged in Fire...since when were Iron Maiden characters supposed to look super realistic? Mercenary looks great if you ask me. I'm really digging the Predator inspired design.

So first round of SSS on the first turn the enemy moonchild doomed both my Alex eddie and Charlotte even though none of my team was perfect or passive disabled. It’s tough to win when the enemy does not have to follow the rules.

It's not so much the super realistic aspect or anything along those lines. Don't care about that at all. But when it's over done to the point of being useless it becomes a bit incongruous.

Yeah... so Vanish can work against Moonchild in my experience. If I can get Demon Prince Beelz one-on-one with him (or two-on-one, as the case may be), it's an almost surefire win or draw. The problem is, Merc doesn't get vanish. He gets the golden version... which is ironically more susceptible to Moonchild.

Perhaps being Warrior-type he will also be able to equip Orbits, limiting Moonchild's upside and making this a fair fight. But who knows. Moonchild doesn't fight fair, and with just a single glance at Merc's passive I would probably have to agree with your assessment.

The problem here is that vanish is actually perfect vanish (golden version I assume) and as such can be easily removed with Moonchild, so he won't become much of a counter to him. Artistically it's a great toon but he will be slightly more useful than Necropolis and Mariner.

I wrote something similar ^^. It occurs that if you are already RUNNING maxed awakened Moonchild, he could tip the balance of the fight (cause opposing Child couldn't use his power ability, anyway), but he falls short as a stand-alone counter (probs) due to the golden aspect of his vanish.

We all know Moonchildren don't really kill each other.

The most annoying vanish ability is on Magus LOL--where he gets immunity and vanish every turn. But it is an imperfect vanish, and Moonchild cannot remove it. This is where perfect vanish is a disadvantage.

Cyborg/BHE remove his PI and Vanish and damage him with their basic attack, often killing him with 1 hit, unless there are Celestials active first turn.

Now that you mention it, yes.

I always like to look at new characters, especially Eddies, and try to pick out the original they modeled it after.

Same toons just different skins, like Samurai & Eternity Ed, just to name a couple.

Yeah, it can be fun trying to recognise the animation rig they've used. Scrooge is based on Angel/Gambler I think? And took me a while to notice the ghosts are similar to Beast Eddie (as I've only ever used him as a trooper!)

Congratulations Olev! It will be next to last week or last week of season 6 when I will have enough fragments for him. I dunno but the Thor Mac awakened pretty much kills my teams. Had a game hang and had to reset game, shows as a loss and list a good team when I had great signal and the battle stopped about mid fight. Has anyone else had that problem with the gauntlet??

I always get rewards.. I RARELY if ever see the popup... kind of defeating when you place #1 and never see the pop up.... but the rewards are in my inventory.

I often force quit the game a few minutes before rollover then restart again. This way I always see the pop-up for rewards. I do this every night, not just for event ends. When I stayed logged in during the nightly reset I almost never saw the pop ups.

No rewards on reset. I got the talismans last night and the merc frags this afternoon. Trust me, I checked before posting and sending the ticket.

Same here. I made it through a couple of battles in S, no fragments. I'm still stuck on 260, and should have an additional 115.

Made it to Level AAA in the gauntlet. I recieved 100 wrath child fragments instead of mercanary. Disappointing.

Note that I didn't get anything either... first time for that.

Then I bought a talisman with frontier coins a day later and BAM everything showed up in my account. Talismans were located on random characters, but they were all there. That FC purchase seemingly forced a cache update for my account.

The rider talismans turned up on dupe banshees. I would recommend checking characters for talismans, particularly those which may have open talisman slots available. Still no merc fragments though.

I got no vorpal talismans, i got no mercenary fragments, i got no heroic soul fragments... I got nothing and i got to level S... :(
I was so anxious to get the mercenary soul complete...

Welcome in my world :/. Ending last gauntlet in AAA and only received vorpal talisman set. Nothing else!!!!! And with clan raids too. Last two weeks no rewards, only ironite. Well Final Frontier Eddie is not my "destiny".
