From now until April 7th at 5PM PT, complete Event Challenges in the Arcade Armageddon Dungeon to earn a variety of rewards, including Foolish Currency, Talisman Soul Fragments, Nightmare Currency and more!

You can access the Dungeon by:

Completing a repeatable event challenge (Spend 100 Sands of Time)
Claiming 1 free Key Soul in the store
Purchasing Key Souls with Gold (this event only)
Purchasing Key Souls with Frontier Coins.

Foolish Currency can be traded in store for Cosmic Foolish Talismans, Firestorm Talismans and Rush Talismans.

Cosmic Fool’s Talismans are April Fool’s themed and will grant a series of unexpected effects! There are 5 possible variations, and each variation will have 3 set effects. The set effects will change every time the Cosmic Talisman is evolved. It's less costly to evolve these special talismans and if you keep evolving up you will loop back to the original set effect you started with.

Example:
A talisman may start with a Steel set effect
I evolve it and get Redemption set effect
I evolve it again and get Sacrificial set effect
I evolve it again and get Steel set effect again

The total cost to evolve these talismans each time is as follows:
6 (Colorless) ★ Evolution Rune
6 (Colorless) ★★ Evolution Rune
6 (Colorless) ★★★ Evolution Rune

Nightmare Currency is the event currency of our Fated Dreams event running throughout April.

Arcade Armageddon Frontier Key Dungeon

Earn Ed Hunter by completing Arcade Armageddon Achievements!

Once it is unlocked, the Arcade Armageddon Dungeon will be open for only 1 hour total. There are no limits on how many times the dungeon can be played within that time frame. This dungeon is restricted to Sentinel and Magus characters that are natural 3★ rarity or lower.

The first time you complete this dungeon, you will receive set rewards including a Legendary Soul, Talisman Soul Fragments and more.

All subsequent victories are guaranteed to provide XP Runes, as well as a chance of bonus rewards, including Artifact Talismans, and Moon Talismans.

**IMPORTANT: If you summon another Arcade Armageddon Frontier Key Soul while the corresponding Dungeon is already open you will refresh that dungeon’s countdown timer.

I really loved the art, story, and backgrounds of this dungeon.

That's where my praise ends.

This dungeon is far too hard for 3 star toons to complete, especially magus and sentinel toons. No set of talismans can prepare them for what lies ahead.

First off, the majority of waves stack tons of beneficial effects and take forever to kill.
Secondly, the toons we have access to deal pitiful damage.
Finally, the final wave is genuinely impossible. You guys gave us a modified mercenary for it because you knew that the archer talismans at the end required disabling. Here, that doesn't work. Since no talismans disable archers, there is no way to guarantee a win in this dungeon.

I really do appreciate the references, but the dungeon needs to be tuned down for the 3 star level. Look at Gangland, then look at this. There is a huge discrepancy in power, and even if you factor in power creep there have been no useful/substantial toons that are 3 star and of the required classes that can help.

Wish this could've been a better start to the month, but for now this is going in the "don't play" pile.

I'm with GrimDusk. I loved the storyline. Great work there! The "do the dungeon on our own" part? Not so much. That sphinx who constantly stuns the entire team, increases his max health continuously, and heals for more damage than 3 star characters can do to him? Not fun. I literally left it going for 10 minutes once and had to exit.

I had fully maxed and sharded Anubus, Sacto, and green Chopper. I had fully maxed Ygg + T3 Desert Diety, Celestial + Lantern, and Ragnarok + Immortal.
For the Eddie, I started with SOL with Gluttonous and Immortal and had to quit when the Sphinx couldn't be hurt

Then I started to "cheat" by Autoplaying and letting my trooper eddies go. Many of my troopers are less than stellar (I'm helping them, not the other way around) but they're all better than any 3 star character. Some of them got through Sphinx. Only one of them got through the horsemen. Not including the (very fun) first round, I only got through the dungeon once in the first key.

I haven't given up yet, but a quick scan of the compendium doesn't show me any characters that scream, "I'm so much better that this will become possible." I suspect that this dungeon is going to have to wait for the blue and green equivalent of the 3 star templars that made gangland and airstrip doable.

Grimdusk expressed it well. Some of these events feel like chores. Games should be fun. Futile exercises in frustration are not fun.

I’ll focus on the Nightmare currency and give this one a miss.

Just to echo the above - love the design and references to the old Ed Hunter game but some of the scaling seems much too high for 3* characters, especially The Sphinx. There might be a workaround for the stun-blocks (although I haven't found it yet) but the characters do a pitiful amount of damage. Ragnaroks on S. Chopper seemed to help the other waves but my game has just been stuck on this wave for ages now.

Not too bothered about Cosmic Fools (although I would have liked a set of Firestorm and Rush) so will focus on Infinite Dreams and revisit Ed Hunter at a later date either when there is a suitable talisman set available or stat scaling is adjusted slightly.

I haven't tried this dungeon yet, but regarding stun and perfect stun I can only think about snow and niflheim talisman.
But which talisman have you equippied your characters with?

I have put Navigation on SOL Ed... that seems to do the trick on the Sphinx.
My team is as following:
SOL Ed : Navigation/Sustain/C Angel
Anubis : Yggs / C Serenity
Desert Warrior : Envious / C Serenity
Sacro : Alchemy / C Redemption
Sill the last wave isn't always successful and the team still gets killed ones in a while.
Plus 3* teams are just slow... the average is 5 minutes.

The game story was hilarious, also the general art! The dungeon doesn't look SO complicated but it doesn't look nice to run either.

1-mega buffed and reviving toons, but we have only natural 3 stars sentinel&magus to fight back... they are too limited not in only in power, damage, survivability but most important in talismans slots... too many old toons with only green and blue slots.. just one or two with different colours... making the puzzle not a puzzle but a chore...
2- Only 3 FC keys per month? isn't much... and considering it might be a slow dungeon to run this is even worse.
3- ARCHER at the last wave, isn't fun, isn't a "puzzle to solve with strategy", isn't creative... is nothing but a cheap way to make the dungeon last longer. There is no way to counter it, or jump it here

This team setup works for me on auto most of the time and also for character achievements. Average around 4.31 min. Best 3.29 min. Needs some babysitting in case of defeat in final round.
Speed of light with gluttonous and rot cosmic.
Wicker owl cultist with Singularity
Sentinel Anubis with Apocalypse and trooper cosmic.
Sacro robot with celestial and alchemy cosmic.
Ride along extra Eds for talisman achievements.

Ok i love this dungeon, the art design and everything, but is literal impossible to beat it, only 3 natural characters? cmon Navigator, you can do it better, an less could be 4 natural, its far more accesible, what about the people who just started the game a few weeks? is this a april fools joke? i hope they just re-work this dungeon. 4/10 just for being a reference to Ed Hunter and his levels

I'm with Grimdusk & Tsuketa, I thought this was going to be fun, like last month getting Merlin Eddie. Way to hard for 3* toons, I don't have 30hours to babysite, it should autofarm. A bit disapointed cause other wise the event would be fun.

While I'm able to do the dungeon, what concerns me is the fact we can only buy 3 keys for FC per month. Because of how slow the runs go, it's pretty much impossible to get all the event currency for obtaining everything. Is that purchase limit intentional, a bug or supposed to be an April Fools joke? Whichever one it is, it'd be appreciated if that limit was removed to make the event actually completable.

1st run having to deal with forced toons and more of the "funny" dialogue is making me question why I even give you guys money. Throwing top 5*s against some of the worst 3* in the game is just boring.

I've spent a bit of time messing about with my team and I've started to have a bit of success with the following:

Mummy Eddie - Envious + Archer Cosmic
SACRO - Gluttonous + Alchemy Cosmic
S. Anubis - Apocalypse + Desert Deity Cosmic
S. Chopper - Ragnarok + Siege Cosmic

Speed of Light Eddie is in ride-along with talsimans to get event challenges

I've only done about 6 runs on auto with this team but I'm getting times between 2:30 and 3:00.

I've finished off one key with this team and have completed another with no losses (about 25 runs altogether).

When I ran a full key without losses / interruptions I managed 17 wins. At that rate it will take 15 keys to complete the 250 wins for the challenges or 12 keys if you are just trying for Ed Hunter

I'm pretty certain those would be the ones you either get from the talisman achievements, or from the SoT spending achievement. Point is, there is no way to get keys continuously. After you use all 14 obtainable keys, you have no way of continuing the dungeon and any amount of runs you got, you'd be stuck with.

Guys, it's SLOW but absolutely doable; especially for veterans. My team averages 2-2:30 per run and is pretty failsafe. Just gotta get more creative and maybe use some characters you may have forgotten about w/ some great talis.

Ed hunter (Wrathful & archer)
Blue Allied Soldier (Avenger, Inspiration & blight)
Sentinel Chopper (Rags & prudence)
Sentinel newborn (envious & alchemy)

I especially like losing all control over character and ability selection in wave 4.

I am unable to select which character to attack with. Unable to choose which set of Eddie's abilities I want to use. Unable to check effects active on any character, friend or foe.

Oh, also, I cannot even press the button to quit.

Thanks for the post and thanks to your clan-mate for coming up with the team.

Not much use for me I'm afraid as I don't have Ed Hunter so I am trying to use characters who will complete the achievements at the same time. I think I'll stick to the team I am using (see post a few above yours) - it's slower but it should just about get me Ed Hunter before my keys run out even if I don't quite complete all the challenges for the event

In regards to the difficulty of the dungeon, we are monitoring everyone's progress and the plan is to make some changes to the dungeon, potentially next week. Not sure what they will be just yet, but we aim to make it a bit more accessible.

If the team is taking general feedback that may be hard to see with the raw data, I would like to raise the point of Archer Talismans consistently being added to bosses and waves without bosses.

Unless you can bring Mercenary on your team (which you often can't due to class/level restrictions and when you can he often doesn't have great survivability). These talismans don't actually raise the difficulty of the dungeon but instead inflate the run time. We can build a team that ignores/negates/absorbs the wearers damage as well as have a team that deals out hits that would wipe out all of their HP, but we are still subjected to a roll of the metaphorical dice. More often than not that dice rolls in favor of the enemy. We've seen waves last as long as one hit to minutes long watching that damage get blocked.

If we had a more universal counter to Archer sets (a talisman set or even better a cosmic talisman) this would be enough to switch Archer talismans from a nuisance to a crucial piece of our dungeon solving puzzle.

I realized this after I posted, 3 keys were from the spending Sands of Time Challenge. Gangland does not drop Arcade Keys.

The solution to this isn't countering the talisman with another talisman, it's reworking Archer and Mongol bespoke/charachters to remove the % to take no damage. Either normal or innate shields of whatever kind would be a far better solution, as we get a damage reduction, but not full avoidance. We can build around even full damage blocking shields, but not total invincibility at the roll of the dice.

Firm disagree. It's a great tool for us to have on our teams. We shouldn't remove something just because the design team abuses it, we just need a more universal way to counter.

If we removed mechanics because certain players don't like it, there would be nothing left in the game.

I keep trying without success. I've tried your combo but do not have Archer, Alchemy & Siege Cosmic. I beat the Sphinx easily but the I jam at the bosses. Had only 2 wins in 1 Key and that needed manual intervention. I'll have to wait & see if they tweak it a bit.

I spent my first 1 1/2 keys messing around with the talismans to try to get something that worked. It was mainly moving round the cosmics or trying different ones. See what you have and see how you die and what could counter it.

My problem was always with the boss fight at the end

I've done 5 keys with a team based on this one now and only had one loss. I don't have Cosmic Archer so have a Cosmic Rot on Mummy Eddie instead and seems to work ok. Averaging 17 runs per key but glad that the 3 key cap was unintentional - might actually complete the challenges once that's done.

I can also confirm that I have the bug with the achievements of Moon talismans too. I'm running one sun set on my SoL Eddie and it's counting as if it were moon talisman. Will this make the moon set count as sun once I have it?

I don’t have any Moon set on my account yet, but I don’t think I’ll even waste my time writing for support if this continues. They never answer anything.

it seems sun is counting as moon and moon is counting as sun ive now finished those runs after figuring it out and used more sun sets to finish the moon achievement and vice versa with the sun achievement

I'm using Desert Deity on Anubis I thought it was meant to prevent being inflicted with stop if so the cosmic doesn't work on Anubis

The Compendium shows Desert Deity is ok for the Anubis characters (and we all know how reliable that is ;)) and it is preventing the Lower Max HP effects from the Ghengis Khan attack so that suggests that it is doing something but I am getting affected by the Stop on round 3 as well. It's not a major issue for me (on this occasion) as that is a relatively easy round but it does look like a bug

Finally finished the runs for Ed Hunter, wasn't enjoyable to say the least, last 20 or runs i had constant freezing on random waves. i'll finish the rest at some point

I think they are swapped. Moon are counting as Sun, and Sun counting as Moon.

f#$*ing freezes of autoplay... A tons of bug reports with teams, talismans etc, but no solution. Guys it's not depended on characters and talismans, it's some problem in your autoplay algorithm. In some circumstances it leads to infinite loop of action choise in any location with any characters and talismans

Really enjoyed the first play-through of this dungeon, the story was good fun, and loved the theme. Subsequent runs were significantly less enjoyable though, and I only managed 7 victories on my first key, and even more defeats. It feels way too over-tuned for a 3* dungeon, especially when compared with the Airstrip and Gangland dungeons. My two suggestions to bring the difficulty down to a more reasonable level are 1) Remove the Archer talismans on the Edless Horseman, and 2) Remove the passive abilities of all the characters in the final wave, like you have done with the Wrathchild here and in Gangland. This would allow you to keep the thematic characters and provide challenge through their powerful active abilities.

UPDATE: This version is out of date, and the talismans on the final wave have been changed. Khan and Edless don't have any, and Wrathchild now has Mimic & Piercing.

As for the launch event, it follows the usual frontier dungeon launch event pattern. Run the dungeon and use certain talismans to earn event currency you can spend in the store. This time the featured talisman rewards are Green T2 rotating cosmics, similar to last year's April Fools event, but with new effects. You can also pick up a set of the community favourite Firestorm and Rush talismans. You'll have to choose carefully though, as the challenges don't award enough event currency to buy one of everything, so plan ahead.

Good that the latest fix says it removed the Archer talis from Edless Horseman.
But in fact it's very, very late on the last day of the event and after all keys are already spent.

I completed the event two days ago, made a team that did 10 to 12 runs per key, with 0 defeats. I didn't feel harmed in any way, I just found the dungeon challenging.

But of course, just like in real life, I agree that it would be better if we received all the rewards of the game just by pressing a "redeem" button and that's it, congratulations! You are the most incredible player here.

The annoying thing is they "fixed" it right at the end of the event after myself, yourself, and others put those resources into it. It's a slap in the face and would have been better to let it ride. If it was a challenge as intended, why a fix?

I completed the event two days ago, made a team that did 10 to 12 runs per key, with 0 defeats. I didn't feel harmed in any way, I just found the dungeon challenging.

But of course, just like in real life, I agree that it would be better if we received all the rewards of the game just by pressing a "redeem" button and that's it, congratulations! You are the most incredible player here.

Don't get me wrong. I also like it to be a challenge. But would prefer to complete the achievements with the keys you can gain from those.
What annoys me a bit is that the difficulty level is reduced considerably shortly before the event is over and I already used all keys and even had to purchase additional ones.

The change to the final wave allowed me to go from 14 runs per key up to 16 runs. I might be able to get it higher now the final wave is a little less dangerous, but I don't want to risk messing with my currently reliable team.


Here is the updated dungeon, the only changes are to the final wave. Only Charlotte's talismans are the same as the original version.

Well Looks exact the same, the only problem is that some teams attack first, so is gonna be still a pain in the ass

I assume they changed the dungeon for people trying to get Ed Hunter through achievements, not to make the event work better. Though, arguably, if that was the play, they may have been better off waiting until the event was fully over and then announcing it as such. Small changes in communications can go a long way.
