Store won’t open

When I try to open the store tab all I get is the never ending spinning wheel of torment. No store = no SoT.
No SoT = no game play

I frequently get that (does the Storm Eddie face in the background get slightly larger too?); usually a force quit and restart sorts it. Sometimes if it is recurring I have to do another activity (e.g. open a soul, run a level, power up a character) to get the server to sync then try again and it works.
