Golden son vs allied soldier

What's the best character to upgrade...golden son blue or allied soldier blue?

Hi! I think blue allied soldier is one of the best characters in the game. His reflect shield is my most used ability, it increases your chance of survival in harder levels.
Also I saw in another thread that allied's base magic damage (without talismans) is higher than golden son's. Maybe golden son's stat is divided between his healing and damage.
Golden son's healing is great too but I would choose blue allied soldier with reflect shield over golden son.
