Since Soldier Eddie deals random damage do you think +Magic talismans would be necessary on him? I need to know before i upgrade one to *5

if you are referring to his 'bullet trace' or war-torn' skills, those random are not based on magic(as far as i know),though info panel specifically highlighted ATK and SPECIAL stats.

It'd be best not to focus on magic but rather on attack then right?

Sure!

I'm no expert, but that's what i do.i just look at text in the info panel are colored and Capitalized,
and go for talisman increases those stats, i also cheat by looking at my max trooper's team and copy what they did on that character.

I think some of his random damage attacks are based on magic when the blue numbers show up. That being said, I'd still focus on special and attack. Seems like the red numbers are attack based, white numbers are special based, and the blues are magic.

White numbers means true damage, red physical, blue magic and green is health points recovered. Yes, random attack means that soldier can deal magic damage, but the basic attack is physical so forget about magic and go physical all the way.

Except if the primary skill of the character is magic, then attack doesn't really mean much, am I correct in thinking that? Soldier Eddie is a physical attacker, but Reaper Edward is a magic attack specialist...
