So, I've done a few of these build threads before and thought I would continue with the tradition. Yesterday i got super lucky and I pulled an Allied General from a regular rare soul at 5 stars. This is a required character for those record breaking hits with samurai Eddie (who was my first five star character and has max talismans and skills now, these two characters have nearly game breaking synergy). I also happen to have a seemingly very large quantity/variety of rare green talismans, so this character is going to receive special attention from me.

Base stats:

1369

Skills:

So there's a few different builds I've seen for this character. Most commonly I see a basic build of 6 Health overwhelming, which does the job. Basic attack scales Max HP and attack so you can mix and match to taste with red/green talismans. The character does single hit, single target damage, so I'm staying away from burning, pierce, stun, and blind talismans but there is nothing wrong with slotting these types of talismans onto this character (the single hit/single target just means you won't receive a lot of value from using them). Invisibility might be a solid value talisman here, but it will require me to do some testing (this will come later as I'm likely to put my invisibility set onto my green bat first).
The two builds I'm considering are a two set energy talisman, and a guard/energy talisman build.
The guard build seems to be a little redundant when I'm running soldier Eddie, as soldier eddies fury provides the same buff; so if you're running soldier Eddie, this talisman set seems to be a little pointless. When using the general with samurai Eddie tho, the added defence buff is solid value.
The two set of energy talismans provides the possibility of (with base skills), 50% steal power on any hit, escalating to a 50%, 45%, 45% chance (trigger rates don't stack to my knowledge), on a perfect attack, which is phenomenal. If I connect on a perfect attack with the general, the power debuff has the potential to be amazing (provided the talisman is fixed it's currently bugged, and only generates power/does not steal). I feel like two sets of energy talismans here is a bit redundant, but I'm going to try both builds for a while and see which I like better.

Here are the talisman builds I'm considering:

Whatever route you go with this monster he will be great

Some I tested with energy talismans + his natural ability to steal power and fury were the best though.
Actually when I had the cyborg together with my undead hunter + this particular general I'm talking about...I could be starting every turn with more than 12 on the powermeter...close to 20 :p

I feel he's by far one of the most powerful characters in the game and should be a nuclear bomb in PvP. He works best with characters that scale attack and do physical damage, but will slot into almost any party. Skill shards are a solid investment into this character because he's so versatile, and even if he's nerfed, it's hard to go wrong with increasing the trigger rate of steal power/fury.

I went with a warp set and two health overwhelming sets on mine. I have a trooper with one that has two health and one strength set. Hits a little harder than mine, but not as much fury. I use mine with soldier Eddie and Rocket Dog. A certain forum member's maxed out Samurai Eddie is insane in that lineup.

He has extremely high health though, so rarely gets in any danger. I've seen mine in the orange a single time. Soldier Eddie is way more fragile.

Yeah I've got a warp set... Wasn't going to mention it here tho :P
That talisman is being removed from the game from what I read in the dev thread....
I've had the warp set on my PDK for some time now as well.... I am leaning towards utility with this character and not fury spam. This will be my fourth for the rifts and I have no plans on using him for farming (that lineup is set already). It's the same reason I'm probably permanently removing the warp set from my PDK and going with a damage build, I'm not planning on using him for farming either. We will see how it all turns out. I can run a warp set with the energy and a solo green talisman, but I'd rather just keep stealing as much power as possible I think. If I do that, I'll post it.

I read that about the warp talisman (and others) in the dev thread, however I wonder if they just mean that it won't drop anymore. If they removed them totally from your inventory (including removing 5* talismans that players have leveled), I would be quite unhappy about losing the gold spent on them.

Yeah I'm waiting to see what happens with the talismans before upgrading them past 4 stars. The General is my only 5 star, so I definitely use him for farming. He's also the only sentinel I have that does physical damage, which is needed to take advantage of rocket dog's passive.
