As if these weren't confusing and convoluted enough already, it's become very clear at this point they are not created equally upon evolution to five stars. There simply isn't a breakdown available at this time of what the stats have the ability to climb to, and some talismans appear flat out broken (ascension talismans for instance do not provide a magic buff of 1% of anything, not even close).
I have grinded an exceptional amount to find the runes to upgrade these things, only to figure out once I've spent them, that the particular talisman is either broken, or is completely outclassed by another similar talisman upon evolution to five stars. A legit wiki would be fantastic and save hours of grinding. I am considering opening a support ticket at this time for the broken talismans requesting refunds for the futile grinding I have already thus far completed. This is brutal, and the trial and error guesswork is a complete waste of life I feel. Not fun at all.

This is solved simply by adding a "current/potential" value in each talysman... I've spent so many resources on useless talysmans already.

Where do you think the wiki information came from? Not from the dev team or a game file usually. From trial and error, like you're doing. Take the information you've gathered and put it in the guides and tips section as a PSA for others. You're not going to get a refund for time spent.

Thanks tips. I will note that a trial and error wiki from the community on broken game mechanics (and mysticism at this point), about information that I feel should be provided in game is probably futile at best.
You're a big help I'll add with that post.
