3-Star Blue (Magus) Evo Shards

Does anyone know where these drop from? They are the only color of 3 star evo shards I do not have, but the one I am in need of.

As far as I can tell, they can drop anyplace 3* shards drop. Probably just having a bit of bad RNG.

Hmmmm. Strange how the "drop info" button shows certain things that don't necessarily drop. For example, the madness battlefield drop info shows 3* evolution shard (green), but I've played countless stages over and over and have yet to see a 3 star evolution shard from battlefield. Underworld in hard shows 3* purple evolution shards and I was able to gather enough over 2 days to evolve my mummy dog to 5 stars. This is grinding only the 3rd mission in that stage. That entire time I got white 3* evolution shards, 1 yellow, and a most purple. So it seems the drop info button is pretty dead on with the Underworld Hard stage. But I have yet to get a single green or blue one (the ones I need!). If anyone has had any luck obtaining these, please help!

To be honest, it appears to be another statistically broken in game mechanic. Purple shards and runes appear most on the underworld stage and on the hard setting appear to drop at a minimum value of 3 stars frequently. Compare this to a stage like the pyramid one where on the madness setting runes and shards for magus characters drop much more frequently but are of much lower quality (2 stars?). My crude observation is that grinding in underworld on the hardest setting provides the best results, but I use the runes and shards on different character classes than what they were intended for. As to your question, with regards to the evolution shards, the blue ones are proving difficult to find. :(

Are the not even dropping in Madness Underworld? It would be nice if they would drop where you can farm them with a 4 star character.

I agree. I haven't opened madness underworld and I'm positive I won't be able to "farm" any stage there currently. I need gem 3 star revolution shards and I can't find them anywhere. It doesn't seem logical to be able to get yellow and purple ones easier than green, seeing as to how much stronger those 2 character types are.

I have farmed the Underworld Hard and Madness. The shard drops are similar. I farm Circle of Fear on Hard for shards, on madness for gold.

I'm convinced the 3* blue evolution shards don't exist. I can't find one at all. I have 3* rainbow ones but until I can get these there's just no way I will be able to progress in the Underworld madness level.

I found 2 today Underworld Madness Soulless Demons

They shouldn't be that hard to get, especially since all the other colors except blue can be gotten on a 4-star. You should only need a 4 star character to get the shards to promote to 5 stars. I did most of the content with Carriage Driver Eddie ans that is the character I enjoy playing. I should not have to hope to get a different 5 star Eddie from a Soul shard, so I can level it to get blue Evo shards to promote Carriage Driver to 5-stars so I can redo the same content. This game if fun, but I should not have to dedicate my life to it to promote a character from 4 to 5 stars.

The Evo packs that were $30 in the shop did not include 3-star Evo shards, essentially charging $30 for one 4-star character. In my opinion, a 5-star is not worth this much. I would be willing to pay $.50 to $1.00 for single Evo shards though. Alternatively Evo shards could be converted to a different color for about 10k gold per star.

As it stands now, to promote any Magus from 4 to 5 stars, I would need to get another 5-star character either through luck or spending a Triple-A title amount of money, and the spend what seems like would possibly be weeks grinding for 3-star blue Evo shards just to play the character I want to play. No thank you to that. I have already spent more time trying to farm the 3-star Evo shards I need than I did leveling the character to a level 80 4-star. If there is not a clear and fair path to promote my Carriage Driver to 5-star by the time that Night City releases, I will be uninstalling this game since I will be unable to progress through that content.


I'll end my rant here. Feel free to jump on the band wagon. The more people we get the faster it will roll down hill.

That's the "Rainbow" one (the Evo shard). It is the neutral one needed by all classes. The blue ones for Magus are a darker blue. I have enough Rainbow ones. The green one is a leveling shard and not an Evo shard.

Honestly, I'm having more issues trying to get my talismans to five stars, I've done seven (4 red, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 blue).I've promoted a couple characters to 4 stars in the meantime and yesterday I levelled my Hellhound to five stars just because I had the shards to do it. Finding the upgrade shards for blue characters and upgrade runes for blue characters seems to be the biggest bottleneck. The other colours aren't nearly as difficult to find. In addition finding some of those super rare talismans is a problem.

I don't have any statistics to back up my claim, but I feel like if you're running red characters or purple/yellow characters/talismans you'll have the most success finding stuff. At the other end of the spectrum if you're looking for blue stuff, you're going to have the most problems. A function of the fact that blue characters are generally the most powerful in the game? Idk.

Are you sure it is blue and not the "Rainbow" one they look kind of blue. If it is a blue, where did it drop.




One a side note, 3-star blue Evo Talismans drop from Madness Power Slave. It is a very low rate though.

Not the slightest; however, I believe the drops are on a per map basis with the best quality and quantity coming from The underworld on the hardest setting u can tolerate. I have no evidence to back up this claim and obviously the very best come from the secret locations, but no one has any concrete evidence to the contrary either lol.

Does anyone have a reliable level to farm Gunner 3* shards? I know that Underworld shows in the drops that you can get them, but I only got 2 Gunner ones and like 15 of the Assassin type.

The purples came from Underworld hard, and I haven't seen one (or a yellow) from Battlefield. So I'd wager find a good level you can grind in Underworld, cause that's your best bet.

This would be a good feature for many of us - for example, I have 3* purple to power up everyone's characters in this entire forum, but nothing else. Even silver ones are rare in my case (a month in, playing nonstop daily, and I only have 5 of them). If I could combine say, 2 purples for a single one of another color (even a random one), it would be a relief.

I'm stuck there too, even with him at max level at 4*s. But I'm trying a new approach using him w/ Pharaoh Eddie and a warrior pyro solider. Just need to keep bumping up those talismans -the double gold day helped a lot. Good luck!

I'm trying to get the drops for 3* gunner shards, yet i keep pulling 3* warrior shards, which aren't even on the drop list in Underworld>Madness Mode.

i agree, they should have some consistency on that, but in the developers and business end, they want us to farm a sh*tload and be receiving random drops so that we but more sands of time and whatnot.

It's one of those things that make you just go grrrr, but i guess i can level up my warrior Eddie's, though i really wanna upgrade my soldier Eddie to 5*

I think maybe the colors of the stages might mean where we're more fortunate to see the respective shard color? might be a possibility but a bit unsure ahaha

Did a bunch of farming during the double gold and managed to scare up the other 4 blues I needed, as well as 2 or 3 more yellow. Now I've gotten (and in some cases used) enough 3* shards of each color to evo 2 green, 1 red, 1 purple, 1 blue. 1 shard shy of 5* Soldier Eddie.

Where is the best place to get 1* and 2* Gunner (yellow) shards from. I have looked at the drop info on all the areas and can only see 2* listed in Underworld. Only just opened that area up and as all my characters are only 3* I will have to use my high level Troopers to get anywhere. I am desperate to get my 3* Soldier Eddie up to 4*.

One thing I can do is buy the Legendary Pack and use the Ironite to buy a Magus and Sentinel Upgrade pack. That way I can get my Magus and Allied soldier to 4* and I think I will have enough Rainbow shards left to get my SE up if I can get these yellows from somewhere. Actually if I do that I might be able to get my starter Eddie to 4* as well as I think I have enough red shards (need to check)

I used:

4* Carriage RiderEddie lvl 80
4* Possessed Mine (purple) lvl. 80
5* Troll (red) lvl. 30

These have since all gone to 5* and I'm working them to get them to lvl. 100. I played Shadows of the Valley, since its's one of the few early stages that doesn't have Trolls to lock-up the game in an infinite loop with my troll.

Each level offers between 1 - 3 stars whenever you complete it with a minumum of one unit alive, with bigger rewards for completing objectives and earning these three stars. Don't forget though that you choose to don't be required to meet the objectives while doing so.
For example, if the objectives are “Use only basic abilities,” “Survive with 2 allies,” and “Win with 75% health” and you get the first two stars on your first playthrough, you don't still have to only use basic abilities and survive with 2 allies intact on your next playthrough. Just win with 75% health and your third star will unlock.
