Defence and magic resistance?

Hi. How exactly do defence and magic resistance work on battle? I would like to know the mathematical process behind those two parameters!

Good luck on that one. As of now, you just have to trust the splash screen, and hope you don't die.

Only game I've ever played that doesn't show, or even have a way of checking out/testing that kind of shit. "Just give us your money and trust us."
