I have made a little research about who could be this character at the history of World War II.
Here! It looks like i have found him.

His name is General Jurgin von Arnim. He was sent to North Africa to bolster the Axis units there during World War II.
So i believe he is the "real" Axis Commander.

You can even see his wand at his hand:

2353

2354

Additional note: I just opened another thread about who could be the "real" Alliance General. You can check it here:

Your welcome guys, when i saw that first picture with wand it was so obvious.
On the other hand, history is very accurate about this.

We just have his revived version in the game.
Myth busted

Hmm... he looks more corporeal and less... "universal", somehow. lol

Cool find, Osiris!

Here's his Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans-J%C3%BCrgen_von_Arnim

One nitpick is that the seems to have a bit of a mustache, but the CG is clean shaven. If it isn't plain ol' coincidence, you could of course chalk it up to alternate universes and all that.
