How about instead of nerfing certain characters, you change the party cost of said character. Aof seem too powerful..Up his party cost. The prisoner passive is causing problems..Up his party cost. This way, we can bring some other characters into play and use some real strategy. We can cap the cost of the whole party as to not be able to use all the best characters at the same time. Any thoughts??

flying V had this idea long ago, and i really like it. that would force us to think outside the box and force us to use some non premium chracters. and it would be an elegant solution, because nerfs wouldn't be necessary anymore.

my theory is that the party costs are designed for that purpose, but they seem to be broken ;)

Good idea!

Another idea is to have a ban system together with our defense teams.

For instance, when choosing your defense team you also pick 3/4 characters other players are not aloud to use against your defense.

Are offenses are getting it too easy, we can adjust too much.

It would be great if we had to adjust to non premium toons indeed.

Ban AoS and red Troll from my offense, that would give me trouble, maybe then those dogs of war and desert guardians are worth getting to lv 5...

party costs would also be great to balance offense and defense.
lets say offence can take 2 top chars and defense 4 (just an example). that would give the defense some better chances. all in all this could be a good way to go

I'm not sure how it would work in the arena..I do not have access to that yet. It just seems like the right fix to me. I like that aof hits like a tank even tho I don't have one. I like that the prisoner has a killer passive... I don't have him either. I like that you can build your character the way you want. I don't like the constant nerfing of characters. Just use the party cost to even things out.
