Jofer's defense team from hell is giving me the biggest pain from clearing my lists. Lost like 4-5 games in a row, with him going first each time. I am only able to win if I go first. Not having any Shell or Immunity Talismans really kills me.

Sigh,at this point I will even take Ringe's team over Jofer's, haha! :)

@BonFire, I don't seem to have an issue if I wanted to revenge...I get the "battle" button. But I don't bother with revenges..my goal is to clear my lists and get the free SoW...saves a few pennies of Ironite!

My defense is taking a beating as well, it's usually lagging my offensive attacks by about 30. I can't see wasting time on revenge when clearing a list gets you an extra 2 SoW. I'm not sure how much ironite I've actually spent, but I know I'm down from where I was by close to 300. I'm currently at 370 on my attacks, 130 to go.

Man, this one dude's defense was a friggin nightmare. Nomad with a shield at the start, The blue soldier that gives reflect, green general guy, and a SoL Eddie. Doesn't sound like much, but fucking hell. None of my buffs were coming up so I'd take a bunch of damage, and then the general would take my power so I couldn't heal. Finally got him on the 4th try. Took care of Eddie and somehow Nomad's invisibility didn't kick in for anyone.

Oh don't worry when i don't get an error i go second and loose on the first round so nothing changes. Then i get mad and i autoplay a few games.

I think only attacks count for the event. Those with shallow defenses probably want to get attacked much in order lose points, and get easier opponents to attack. Atleast that's how i reason :)

This is a strategy to keep VP score low so that attack list contains weaker enemies, which results in more overall victories achieved and more Iron Coins farmed. For lower level players IC is more valuable than weekly rank reward. Doing the same on my alt account

I have passed 375 and out of ironite now. What a grind. Cheers to those who had 500. Tier 6 is sweet spot for me, fair enough. I will get my eternal without Tier 7 reward anyway , Its not worth to grind 125 for me to get 3 more skillshards after this. I hope that Rare G/A souls will drop something useful.

Wow, thebeast46's team is crazy good with a FOTD Eddie. I inched the win with a final dual between a toon on each side with it going down to each toon within a hit of death. Of course, FOTD's talismans must process for maximum effectiveness and boy did they ever.

After his first round of hits I was pretty decimated.

Yes, she can be very annoying. But you can bring a blue bat, than she become like a little girl without her titan shield.

To deal with her, i usually bring my maxed blue bat and being sure i have a char with aoe basic build with energy talismans. Then i get enough energy for blue bat's storm on one​ round - when it is time i release the blue bat's storm and whole enemy team and GCR wipes out.

I've got a tough dilemma. I'm at 520 so I made the event goal. I'm sitting around 80 in rank. I can't decide if I should spend on refills or just call it quits. Tomorrow could be tough if a lot of people are still trying to reach their goal. I wish the devs had spread out the rewards a long time ago. Spending a couple hundred ironite to maybe hold top 50 doesn't seem worth it to me. If I'm gonna spend that much I'd at least want top 25. Its a tough choice. If I go for it and don't make it I'm gonna be pissed, so maybe I should just go for a hike or something instead. Good luck everyone, tomorrow's gonna be tough.

Ovy's team also gives me issues. I cant remember who but there are at least 2 teams that have the Corrupt Harpy and she can single handedly destroy my team if she goes first.

Finally crossed my 500 matches...whew, no energy to play anymore. I was in top 50 last night before I went to bed, and then woke up this morning outside of top 100.

Doubt that I want to spend any more Ironite just to stay in top 100...folks are going to play like crazy today and tomorrow. In hindsight maybe I should have paced myself, but busy this evening and tomorrow, so glad to get the 500 over with. Have spent over 600 in Ironite, maybe even 700. Thankfully I got 100 Ironite from an achievement challenge.

Speaking of tough teams, the toughest ones are Jofer, Derek (similar team as Jofer's), MrFreeze (yes you fellow trooper, I have lost to you quite a bit...I dread when your name shows up on my list), and Ovy's.

Some other teams with Rainmaker Eddie and Corrupt Assasin Harpy are horrible and can singlehandedly destroy my toons.

Hahah mine is the sentinel Harpy. I call her the green bitch. No matter who is on the team, I gotta kill her first or she locks up my two healers. I hate that toon lol. The gold bitch, just stun or freeze her if you can. She dies easy if she misses a turn or two. The blue bitch is a pain if she gets to freeze. That puta will freeze my whole team. Sadly, the one I have freezes like one toon lol.

I have the same issue, Yojo...MCR doesn't seem to steal the Titan Shield, but I noticed that it is usually only on the 1st round. It does steal the Shield after the 1st round.

Thankfully I pulled a Warrior NBoL two weeks ago, and he always breaks the shield of the GCR. Wish he would steal it, but something is better than nothing. :)

Yep ! titan shield is definitely bugged. not only GCR but on Mummy too.. Viking s loot sometimes steal sometimes not.. sometimes the shield regenerate itself in the middle of a turn (lol) ..
maybe the bug is related to immunity effect but not sure.

Whew, finally broke 500. Not even sure how I managed to pull that off. :p Only had 12 losses, with 3 from the 3-tap bug (before I started solely playing in 3x speed), 2 from APMA errors, and the rest legit losses from creative teams and ones that had great RNG with explosive talismans.

GCR truly helps on offense. She makes it pretty hard to lose if you're playing methodically. However, even she's no match for the craziness that is explosive talismans and 2 turn stuns. I'll be glad if I never see another team with a set of those things. :p

Made it. 509 and still got more time if I want to play more. May play a few more battles for rank, if it'll make a difference later. About 90 battles ahead of my defense, so I'm expecting a big drop. Win rate has been pretty abysmal, in the mid 80% range. Defense only around 10%, and only after putting MCR on the bench (was worse with her on defense).

Lots of good defenses, some I might have had better luck with a different set of toons. Got a lot of new ones with pulls from the Immortal event, Legendary souls from achievements and a few good rare souls. My roster is starting to look a lot more formidable. Hoping the RNGesus keeps smiling on me. Get my legendary from SQ's tomorrow, plus the event one, and the rares and g/a's.

Sorry but what a fucking buggy piece of shit this game is. Just tried to revenge someone and won yet I got a APMA2 error at the end of the fight. I have no idea If it registered as a win or loss. It has registered an attack but the option to revenge is still there. Tried 3 times now and got a APMA6 error. I suspect it has registered as a win but he game is confused due to the error.

But unfortunately this event - while quite awesome and with good intentions - promoted this type of behavior. I think the guy just wanted quick points - but who knows. You also have to assume he's played enough to know it could skew rankings. But it - once again - illustrates the need for attack limits.

Didn't take notice because my stubbornness can have me attack someone until I get a win. Just for the 2 free sands... Fought some dude I think 8 times, 5 of those were waiting for the coin flip, one of those was a screw up, a server error, and then the win.

I get that some of this is legit sinister, but I had the same thirty people on my lists pretty much all day, and I didn't want to refresh because of losing my streak. So, I had to keep hitting the same peeps. I also was getting bored and lost a few times to the same peeps, but kept at it because I wanted the two free SOW. I had two dudes who I think just couldn't beat me, because they stopped hitting me when they finally won. With an event where people are Grinding is going on, re-hits are inevitable, especially when you are trying to spend minimal money.

Just about managed to cling to a top 250 spot. Finished at rank 233. I know that might not mean much to most of you but for me it was a big milestone to target. I have always been a bit "scared" of PvP as I always thought I lacked the right chars to do well in it. While I still think I lack what is needed to get top 100 and above this week showed that I can do reasonably well at it and have no need to be "scared" of it any more.

I have so much respect for Jofer, Nicko, Gmac, Enti and all my Troopers and other guys who are fighting it out every week to get the top spots. This week has shown me how much time, effort and dedication you need to put in to get there. I salute you all :)

And I wish for top 250 PerthEddie. I got to around rank 1650 at one point yesterday which is my best by far. But I knew I couldn't get much higher, certainly not top 250. My thinking was like yours and for ages had to pick and choose my battles so carefully just to have a chance of winning. But this week I did way better than I thought I would (winning over 80%) after doing more than double the number of battles that I normally do. Still need better toons to pick and choose from but hopefully by the time of the next event that 250 rank may not be out of the realms of possibility for a somewhat novice like me.

i did throw a couple of matches myself, mostly if a trooper showed up. the event said earn rewards by simply playing....

I don't know if this is related to anyone else's experience with pvp, but my first week back in the game I was able to rush into 24th from unranked in the last couple days. I had made around 140 attacks but was only hit back 12 times. I thought at the time I was invisible to the matchmaking system because I went up so fast, but later Sparton mentioned something on here about it happening if you don't play the first couple days of the new week. I don't know if it's been fixed or if anyone else has experienced this. But it happened to me, so I'd imagine other people have noticed it too.

Edit: just to clarify a bit, this only happened once to me. After that first week my ratio has been pretty close to 1:1. I haven't tried sitting out the first few days to see if it works.

I had indeed PMed Sparton earlier this morning and was waiting for him to respond but seeing this my hand has been forced.
It is basically as Nicko says.
As a result of the Coming Home Event, I started playing PVP this week. As in, I literally did the tutorial or something this week and set up a defense, after which I could start clearing lists. It was interesting, considering I had 250 Sands of War that I could throw at it, compiled from months of not playing PVP.
The only problem is, for an entire week my defense was listed at zero fights. While I know for a fact that I have been attacked.
Someone showed me a screenshot of his upon victory where he got points for beating me but I lost none. In fact, the only way I could lose points this week was by attacking something myself and losing.

Clearly, this wasn't your fault but more so a glitch the devs must address right away.

Saying that, I believe you shouldn't lose any rewards because of this flaw in the system. Hopefully the devs can include those who finished 11th and 12th with top 10 rewards for fairness' sake.

Yes, no mistake they are "soul"s. They are very special. VE told me about this so thats why i have put the thread. Thats a team with spirit!

Note: I have also put the same team and had couple holds from the same person. And my oxes were LVL 1. Hard to believe isnt it? (Just think about if that holds were not APMA)

Playing 500 arena battles whilst playing 50 troopers per day AND having a family and job, plus other hobbies - not sure how some of you guys do it. Set my target as 275 which I managed, but it really felt like a slog.

Managed to stay within the top 250 which was the best I could hope for considering how many people were going for 500 battles. Got to say, it was not fun, but better than endless replays of LoL.

Bah... I passed along your account for investigation earlier in the week, assuming that like another case we'd seen, something funky had happened to your PVP leaderboard information that was entirely separate from the real statistics for your participation. We must have missed something.

Same, crap thing is, it's crashing mid play again. It had stopped doing that for me. I couldn't get through the LOL levels because of crashes. Luckily, I think you all got your trooper badges though.

It was "impossible" for me in your meaning of the word: playing 500 PvP and still feeding 50 troopers their badges PLUS going to work for 8h and spending these lovely sunny days by the lake with my wife and kids.

Yes. my defense was way below 50% even though i usually don't drop below 80 on a casual 200 battles week, so yeah i overdid it. but that doesn't mean that i didn't try hard to 500, spending long nights after everyone went to bed, finishing all troopers and sleeping 4-5h a day.

the event said: "by simply playing" and that's what i did. besides i still had to pay with my ironite to reset SOW and i didn't use any bots to click the buttons for me. NF could have just let me buy it in store for 1000 ironite and it would be the same thing and would have saved us all loads of time.

as someone said before: don't blame the player, blame the game.

anyway...i just found the whole drama about poor Jofer being abused and devs jumping on it as if it was some criminal offense a bit OTT, so i wanted to bring a different light into it.

One thing for everyone to remember is that the devs are located in the PST timezone, so expect updates to happen during normal working hours in that timezone. Luckily for me, I happen to live in the same timezone so the updates generally happen at a decent time. Some of the new forumers were expecting the rewards to be out yesterday because it was already June 5th in their timezone, but for the devs, it was still the weekend. The devs work hard, let them enjoy their time off!

I don't mind the wait (especially since they are still within their own reward release time frame) as long as its done correct. I am a little antsy to see what eternity i get.

During Sparton 300 players and devs also realized that draws did not count towards the reward tiers. To avoid the misunderstanding, they included this information on the Eternal 500 event's announcement.

There are no indicators, unfortunately you have to count them manually over the course of the event. If you had one, you will certainly know as the game notifies you of an auto-draw in 10 rounds after a while, and Arena is suspended after the remaining rounds are played without win/loss.

Draws are only a concern during arena events, so far we had two in the past 11 months. But yes, I agree, people that way could track how many extra battles they need to make to reach the threshold of a certain Tier reward.

Since the last post was mine, i just want to make myself more clear in case if i have sounded like whining (actually i am not)

I have tried to make a point​ about the time-schedule for releasing situation and why people are getting pissed. Yes, attacking the devs does not solve any problem. But there are many doing it anyway, as you all have mentioned​.

As we know rewards will be at the store within 24-72 hours after event. So, what do you think most of the player's expectation focus should be? Of course most of the people will expect that they will get the reward after 24 hours rightaway (sense of urgency) - even people saw that 72 hour. I guess you got my point.

We cannot expect that everyone will behave kind and supportive (thats somewhere called heaven according to myths). Whining will never end anyway, but it can be reduced i think. If i was the one letting know players about the rewards, i would just say within 72 hours to lower accuracy of whining. There would be whining anyway, but it would be less (since there is no chance to trigger broken expectation) - and if people get it earlier than 72 hour they will be happier as i have stated before, Psychology 101.

So, i am telling to all people who are not patience : let go your expectations, just enjoy the game. Rewards will come up sooner or later.

Taking a quick moment to appreciate irony...

At any given time, there is someone complaining about the speed of the devs churning out content, be it new content, rewards, whatever. And at that very same moment, there is someone complaining about bugs.

In a perfect world, there are 40+ developers and 20 guys on QA dedicated to making LOTB even more of a monster game than it is. New Eddies, contests every week... it sounds great. But I'm willing to bet my upcoming Eternal that there are far less. Budget-wise, this game can't support that large of a team... and the fact that one dev made a change from home to accommodate an abusive player in the last event... that speaks a lot to their dedication (and the size of the team).

Add to that, we've gotten solid weekly content for a while now; several new Eddies and characters since March, contests and specials that resulted in 5 star eddies and more.

The point of the rant - let's appreciate what can be done. I have a feeling we're getting more from the devs than we have a right to expect. The rewards are coming. I'm confident that as soon as they've been able to check over as many instances as possible to ensure that no one gets screwed over (that's called QA) then we will get what we've earned. I haven't seen any instances of them NOT making good on things; I've seen them reach out to members with issues and (I presume) make things right on several occasions. I'm super pumped to see what I get from the rewards, like you. If those rewards come tonight, tomorrow or later in the week, I'm good with that.
