Arena Rank Bug

I was at Rank 900 with 2010 points after a couple matches i earned some points and my points become 2043. Yet my rank down to 2357. Can anybody confirm point-rank correlation or is it a bug ?

This is the simplest explanation and Ockham's Razor pointing this way but 1100 players in 5 min is pretty odd imho

I've noticed some unusual ranking fluctuations, as well. I didn't record any of it, but I've seen swings of several hundred ranking levels in the span of a few minutes.
