I recently registered and I don't know change my profile picture

Go to --> "Settings" (between "My Profile" and "Log out")

On that page you will see "Edit Avatar" - I think this is what you are looking for - picture you add here will be shown on your posts in forum.
If you "Edit Profile Picture" - That profile picture will be just shown on your profile page only, not on your posts.
