I'll take it! I know there will be some complaints about the character choice. But, again, this is probably aimed more towards newer players. And, I'm happy to get the extra Essence for playing LoL, which I'd be doing anyway.

Plus, I'm crossing my fingers that there will be some accompanying Shell Talismans in the Store during the Event.

Its a toon I don't have so I'm happy about that. I felt they may have gone with the ABB tbh. If its only over the weekend I am not sure I will have the time to grind to get enough fragments (going to an local all day metal festival Saturday, plus I have heaps of study to do) much like during the immortal event where I just missed out.....
A positive is this means the assassin class toon won't be the pyro soldier either which I am glad about.

I am waiting for event warrior Nomad lol. Sentinel Pyro? Hmm, imho not worth to use all ironite for refills to get him more than 1, especially when BNW is knocking to the door (hopefully soon) and might be better to save ironite for that.

I would support a Prisoner one. I have given up hope of getting one through souls so an event like that is probably the only way I will ever get one. Can't see NF ever putting an event like this on though for Prisoner, Nomad etc.

Prisoner is one of the few toons left for my collection, I don't care if they make it a 1000 or 2000 soul fragments to get one I just hope they do a Prisoner event eventually. That and Coalgiver Eddie.

I actually like this guy in pve. He's the only one with a "magic up" passive. Between that and the buff removing flame, he's on my magus LoL auto team. I'm also glad they're leaving the dungeons open this weekend. I wish they'd just open them all everyday instead of this goofy schedule they have them on.

I know, that's too much positivity from me. Yeah, I feel like these events would be better used to introduce new characters or 5*s. NF knows how the end gamers feel about these events, but they don't care. The plan they came up with is in motion and all we can do is go along for the ride. Maybe they'll tweak them in the future to make them more appealing to ALL players, but don't hold your breath.... you'll die. Having these is better than nothing I guess.

Got all 4* toons and I do not like the idea of those regular events yielding a 5*.

Might be fine for a special occasion, but even then I'm not a fan.

I've been playing about a year now and finally got a prisoner less than a month ago. I'd like to keep him rare, kinda like a medal. And if too many people use a great toon, we all know what happens next... another dusty knick-knack sitting on the shelf.

Hey Blade, I'm sorry but don't "us" me and others that easily! I don't have the prisoner but yet said something very similar 2 or 3 posts above.

Should the highest rarity toons be awarded that way? We obviously don't have the same answer, and that's fine, everyone entitled to his opinion.

However, "event for dupe toons" is a weird way to word it, as most of the players don't have that sentinel pyro.
Sure, the majority of the vocal minority posting around those parts does, but that's not representative.

I speak for my case, all that event are only dupes for me
And rare are not the same for every one, I never loot prisoner, allied general or nomad and many players have 5 or 6 nomad.
Pyro are not rare for my account perhaps for many people yes :)
All cotd are rare for me since one year (0 of them) and now I have many blue one only

Nah, I feel that way about any *5 character. Prisoner was just an example that was brought up.
There's heaps of *5's I dont have but want(Check me out 7son-6586).
I just think playing dungeon all week shouldn't be a guarantee for a major toon.

That's true but the problem is that you loot always the same rare toons and not others :)

I feel ya on that. It gets frustrating, but it is what it is. When that happens, save up for a huge sacrifice maybe you get lucky.
Example: I quit spending my trooper points long ago on souls due to getting crappy dupes, decided it was smarter to get only shards. A month ago I said screw it and bought a rare assassin. BOOYA!!! -a friggin prisoner!!! That's how I got mine.
I prob won't do it again for awhile, and don't recommend it if you can't stand the loss, but with risk comes great reward. Sometimes anyway :)

However, I do think a fragment event that gave you a chance to get ANY natural 5* character would be great. Similar to the Immortal Eddie event, you'd have an increased chance at Prisoner and others, but not the exclusive reward like these single character events. Could even toss in a 5-pack of skill shards as one of the rewards.

Definitely a no from me on 5* character events like these. If anything a soul event that has more of a chance for prisoner or nomad, or whoever. But not a 100% chance, that's ridiculous. 100% chance for the rarest character in the game? No way.

I don't have either of them btw.

That's not a bad idea. It would benefit new & old players alike.
Or something like the mission challenges. I was in heaven for two weeks with that one. Encouraged me to build up toons I never would of before.
Pvp aside, those of us who have played for a while don't really have much to look forward to other than headhunting.
Hell, another 200 assassin sacs and I can get a legendary soul lol.

This will be sacrifice fodder for me. Already sacrificed too many of these to count. Lol

Also thumbs up for the LoL levels remaining open. Wish this was always the case. I play them quite a lot.

I will never understand this forum people complain about RNG but then complain about making a guaranteed character. I am not saying it should be easy for a 5 star but I don't see anything wrong making it a guarantee. Make it some crazy amount like 3000 for a 2 day event or 5000 fragments for a 3 day event. That way even though its guaranteed there is no way they be running around everywhere because not everyone would be willing to make that kind of investment.

Well I for one like all the pyro soldiers. Red hits hard, green not so much and purps has marksman passive. Have all three and toyed with the idea of an all Pyro squad but not ready yet.

My Green Pyro has a maxed talisman build but skill shards tend to prioritize elswhere. Flare is great for bene effect removal as it always seems to proc and is dealt with void-proof true damage. I have Greener setup with Shock and Burn talismans so Assassin Pyro can consume with power move and its also nice to deliver those burn effects through true damage.

It's effective without maxed skills so I can only imagine how much more damage could be dealt. Don't know how talismans changes will effect proc rates but troopers, give him a try with that setup while it still procs like crazy.

Used to run warrior golden sun with burn tali's when those would proc per hit so youd get 3 or 4 burn effects then used ass pyro to consume. Tore thru most PvE levels. Not sure about the green version of pyro. Seen him on some defenses but didnt really make much of a difference. May toy a bit if i go for him tho.

One thing to consider, if you don't like the character, convert the points for a precious soul.
That happened to me with the magus cotd event unintentionally. I don't have that toon and actually wanted one. Played my ass off all week and hardly got any frags. Then because I missed a day in between, I was 5 frags shy at the end. Converted them into a precious soul, and by luck I got a strong heart instead of another idol.
Don't know how much a MCOTD is worth(prob more oh well),so maybe I made out ok?
...anyway, I still don't have that toon nobody seems to want lol 8)

Generally natural 4*s are 1800ish points.
