This occurred in PVP. My opponent, 'killer67', was down to one Nomad - everything else had died the previous round.
The Nomad used his ability to turn invisible, but *also*, somehow, raised 'the beast' from death, who then finished me off.
Interesting bug - i'm not sure if there is a legitimate way for this to occur.
