I dont know why they have a reset at the end of a typical workday,. If they did it in the middle of the workday they may have more resources to address problems. This of course wouldnt help when they release new events on weekends or holidays.

That way: Just before they leave (the day before), they queue stuff up, then when they get in the next morning, they push the button to release. Something goes wrong, people are there right away to act.
This is pretty much the common sense way to do stuff like this. Pretty much the same thing as "Don't deploy a change on a Friday".
