Amazing list. I would disagree on shaman Eddie. He is really good. Very nice fury, remove beneficial effects and revive with each action. Yes he doesn't deal much damage no matter what, but as long as he stands, he holds your team together

Shaman Eddie's revive capability could be useful, but at later points in the arena he's not very useful. Van Helsing Eddie's passive allows him to do Shaman Eddie's job much better, and only one of his abilities has a chance of removing beneficial effects. He is a good Eddie to have for certain event challenges, but he falls off at later points in the arena.
Thanks so much GrimDusk for this list. Even if people disagree with your evaluation it gives a good insight on which Eddie to go for. I recently got Gambler (and yes he's amazing) . I only wanted to add that even if you're right saying Angel and Gambler cost 4500 FC each, the best plan for me has been to buy fragments at 250 FC. Needed 10 packs so for 2500 FC I got Gambler. Now, I don't have another 2500 FC but I might be temped to go for that again in the future and take my 50% chance to get the other one. (a second Gambler would still be good for Gauntlet I guess ;-) )
Thank you for reading, Bobby! I am aware you can technically get angel and gambler for less than 4,500, however that is random chance like you said. I figured it made more sense to point out that the only guaranteed method is through 4,500 frontier coins.
Bobby, if you are saving your FC for toons then you might consider KP or Alex as a purchase. The chance of pulling a second gambler is way greater than pulling an angel. Since you have w LoL you may consider another LoL.
KP can be used in all aspects of the game and his passive is his best ability. Alex would also be good at grinding the cosmos especially NotB. A second gambler would be of very little help outside of gauntlet.
Discordian, I dont know what game you are playing.
I have found you are more likely to pull a dupe than a new toon.
I pulled seven same colored liliths in a row. That is a very low probability. This has occurred more times than pulling different toons.
But low probability events occur every day, including the existence of every living human being.
We live in a chancy universe. You can flip a coin and get heads 10 times in a row. It's not a miracle, it's just highly unlikely.
If there's a 50% chance of pulling gambler, and you pull 3 in a row, that just means you were unfortunate. But it's a 1:8 chance - and that's not even super-weird. Statistically, it ought to happen - 1 in 8 times. Just like pulling 5 gamblers in a row ought to happen 1 in 32 times.
Yes, but for most of us the odds are usually against us in the RNG drop. This is not a pure statistical probability program.
Just want to point out, the one time I got an Angel/Gambler soul I got Angel Ed.
During the original event... I pulled 3 Gamblers before I got an Angel... Since then I've use FC to purchase frags for perhaps a second Angel.. but Nope.. Gambler dropped.
I wasnt saying thier is anything special about angel/gambler pulls. It has happened too many times when there are multiple chances per soul that you pull a certain color more times than the other colors. It happened with Onyx, shardbournes, Crimean etc. Either I have extremely terrible luck with RNG or there seems to be something going on behind the scenes besides pure randomness.
I do get lucky from time to time but not often. Yesterday I pulled the yellow onyx and shardborne from 2 tries each from redemption and absolution souls. I tried 4 mythical heroic souls for musashi along with many legendary and normal heroics but got the goose egg.
I have had three 5* souls drop in one stack or rare souls. The worst run I dropped 175 rare G/A souls with only pulling 3*.
I have accepted the RNG factor and let the chips fall as they may.
My team for all the Skull Quests, including Gold And Souls Vault is Crusader (Frontier/Cosmic), Madam (Alchemy, Cosmic) and Killer Prime (Warlord, Sustaining, Inspiration - but lots of other talismans also work). I've been running this team on all Skull Quests since forever ago after Gold and Souls Vault came out and I got Killer Prime. Never loses, ever, and does it quickly.
What they call "streaky" in terms of triggering effects during fights, also applies to drops. At least that is my experience in many parts of the game. We all have good and bad streaks, that's it and we try to make the best out of it, but we do not always have a choice.
Thank you for your advice Muzzle, I think I must be like you and pulling often dupes! ;) I see a lot of KP and Alex in veteran's post. Both are good suggestions and I will think about it for sure. I found out this week, I'm able to farm NotB with Gambler and w LoL + any other 3rd. That was a nice surprise.
Food for thoughts!! :o
Okay I'm facing a bit of dilemma, and I want you guys to help decide. Since Cyborg Eddie is going to become an Awakenable character, my ranking of him will change. With Awakened Eddies, do you guys want the fully awakened form to be a different Eddie entry entirely (Cyborg and Max Awakened Cyborg are in different tiers) or should I just have one entry based on the max awakened form?
I'd say awakenable characters are a new tier since 90% of characters at this time (99.9% of Eddies) are capped at gold 5 stars. To me, it would throw off scaling if awakenable characters are seen the same as standard 5 star level 100 characters since awakenables are always going to have higher base stats and more abilities.
And I'm betting that Cyborg Monday is a chance to get an Awakenable Cyborg Eddie -- and any existing Cyborg Eddie will NOT be directly awakenable.. at least that's what I think if things stay true to form.
I'm fairly certain he will be directly awakenable; the raven witch was made awakenable for everyone who already had her.
Just guessing.. but I think the Witch was made awakenable right away because they nerfed her right before that and awakening brought her back to pre-nerf status. So no one could really complain.
Separate please, or a hybrid with both ratings in the same entry. Your list is an excellent resource for new/medium players, a way for us to get a feel for what an Eddie can do, how they compare with others, and roughly if they're worth investing skill shards. Max Awakening is not something players can easily do, and once you've able to awaken things, you've also probably got access to all sorts of powerful talismans and other things. Rating the character both Before and After awakening would be the most useful for newer players, letting us know how the standard version works, and how the final version compares. Are they worth using right away, or waiting until Awakening?
One ranking but do mention where they would be/ were without the Awakening
I decided on doing two different rankings, as there is a large enough difference between the Awakened and Unawakened forms of Cyborg Eddie. This will go for future Eddies as well.
I'll need to play around with Cyborg a little more, but I don't think his Tase basic works as you'd expect. I think the Stun part of the ability only works if the enemy is at full health AFTER Tase's damage happens. Which only happens when the enemy had invulnerability or a complete damage block. When Tase deals damage, I've never had the stun effect happen. It deals damage, removes effects, then checks to see if enemy is at max HP. I think.
I've had that happen as well, so I may need to change his ranking if his passive and fury doesn't make him as good as I feel it will.
EDIT: So, with the cyborg Monday event I am deciding to double down on awakened Eddies as separate listings, because the new Cyborg Cosmic Talisman can only be used by the Max Awakened Cyborg Ed and Bounty Hunter Eddie.
Would it be possible to add good talisman sets for the Eddies
So for some Eddies I did add a little disclaimer about talismans, but the truth is that most Eddies will work with the same general sets of talismans, with some exception. Warrior Eddies will always go well with Orbit or Viper, Magus with Celestial or Alchemy, Sentinel with a Greed+Warlord or Brave; Gunner with Light, Space, Primordial, or Yin and Yang; and Assassin with Labyrinth, Starfire, Yin/Yang, or Reapers and Sacred. Some Eddies have an exception, like Flight of Icarus who works well with Latern Talismans, but for the most part all of the high tier talisman sets will work well. If you have questions about a particular Eddie and what I personally run on them, I'd be happy to answer.
Ok then,
What talismans are good on Gambler Eddie?
Really depends on what you're doing with him; for a general safe bet, Labyrinth works best. However, for the Infernal Dungeon I'd typically use Radiant and Warlord to hold off the high damage. You could also use those new Forge Talismans, though I have no idea if they work well on him.
Were do you think Scrooge Eddie will stack up in this list?
Love this tier list. Thanks Grimdusk.
first of all thank you for your work! this guide helped me a lot recently. do you know if there's a list like this with allies?
There is not; the closest is Deathbat's effect guide, which can be found here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Ge...cFkkukXRt/view. This lists what every character can do, but it doesn't rate them.
I think you missed out Scrooge Eddie
I messaged him in discord. Yeah I’d love to see Scrooge Eddie on the list too.
I fixed it; Scrooge Eddie is now on the list.
Stumbled across this a couple months ago when I first started playing the game - it was super-helpful particularly when it came to helping me figure out which Eddies to power up and also prioritising where to spend Frontier Coins! Thanks very much!
Honestly surprised LaD isn’t in God tier
Awesome job! I have max awakened Thor if you have a spot in troopers I can put it up and equip just about anyway you would like. I will check back on this thread to see what you think about the offer
