The points will always the same in an image like that. They show the “current” point total of the attacker. How long have you been playing again?

Yes it seems that we do have a Trump Crybaby on board....go ahead and stomp your feet when you don't get your way and blame everyone but yourself for the failure....meanwhile we are all having fun with this game! Maybe one day you can be GREAT again, in the meantime leave your antics at the door....thx

Nice try, sweaty. Did you forget I have a copy of the un-doctored image?

In all seriousness. You recently attacks me and lost then attacked again then won. Your points are the same as are everyone elses. Just the way the game is.
Keep things civil or the thread will be locked/closed. Thanks
Yes all 3 of us,as soon as we turned on tricksters you jumped all over us. Thats what arenas for tho. Attack the shit outta me if u want. Im just confirming it did happen and discos screen shot is real.
LOL basically, IMO there isnt really a reason to have a pit at a maiden concert. when I go, I get a seat and sit back and enjoy the experience. but a maiden pit isnt a rowdy pit. So if your ass falls in a softcore maiden pit.... i mean I'm just gonna stomp ya for spite. Now in a REAL pit? Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, Power trip... Then you help a brother (or sister) out!
Why wouldnt you be proud that your team worked together "the best" and won over some other players/teams? I dont understand why it should be shameful that a team game (since they introduced clans, they are insinuating that they want it to be a cooperative, team game) was won by great teamwork and planning?
I LOVE how you guys always need to pop in here and tell us to keep it civil.... except the only reason it is aggravated in here is because you guys wont simply step in, say "this is what we feel on the subject" end of story. You have differing opinions of people arguing over what they think should or shouldnt be acceptable. Meanwhile, the company running the game COULD simply make a statement saying "We are fine with things as is" or "This was an unintended effect of the games design and we are looking into possible ways to fix it" End of story, no more arguing, no more malice.
Same thing goes for the problem with Zug and me over the Moonchild materials. YOU GUYS screwed up. I asked for a clarification in a public forum. You answered me in a private message. People publicly noticed the moonchild was maxed and asked questions. Now comes the controversy. Handling things in private as you guys did, made things look shady and underhanded, like you were showing me some level of favoritism. I had nothing to do with any of it. I just wanted to know when and how I could get the materials. Instead of simply making an announcement in public, you caused days worth of malice between groups of your players.
How many times will this happen before you guys learn the basic concept of customer service and customer relations?
You want us to calm down in here? Do your damn job and tell us whether the arena "bumping" is acceptable or not, as an official game statement. If it is not, tell us whether you intend to work on a fix for it. tell us whether there will or should be punishments and consequences for doing it. Or, tell us it is all good and shut up the whiners. I dont friggin care either way personally, just put an end to it, not by threatening to lock a thread and censoring us, but by answering the question.
There was a similar type problem a few months ago. A certain player was hitting only weak defensive teams during an event. The problem wasnt the actual attack it was the number of attacks in a short period of time. I was personally hit 5 times in seven minutes, which was a mathematical improbability.
The LotB team said they would look into the matter and it would be taken care of in the near future. The situation stopped , but with no explanation of how the fix was accomplished.
I know the mechanics of the game of using ironite to refresh repeatedly is a bonus to your bottom line. Is there a way to limit the number of times someone can attack another player in a day similar to the revenge attack limit?
Since they introduced beta clans I had this idea on how they could fix the arena problem and I’m sure they have too, but it’s hard to explain and would take work to implement. It’s not flashy like the graphics (which are really an improvement over when the game started) and would be all “behind the scenes coding” without anything cool looking or money making when it was finished.
Anyway the super short version is if you have 2 clans: “A” & “B” and the players in each clan; player X, Player Y etc... In any 7 day arena week all 30 players in “clan A” could only attack player X in “clan B” say 25 times for a combined total for example.
Another way to put it is; all 30 members of the clan Bloodbrothers could only attack Discordian in Romero’s Legion or Natasmai in Jom’s Vikings 25 times total. So if I sat there and refreshed to hit Discordian like Yup did 25 times then nobody else in BloodBrothers would be able to do so for the remainder of the arena week. The number and time frame are arbitrary and I’m not a game designer so I don’t know the logistics of something like this at all, but I suspect whatever they did would take a lot of work and would not necessarily bring in revenue. What fixing it could do though, is prevent people from being discouraged and leaving the game out of a sense of frustration as many have done.
The 24 hour waiting period between leaving a clan and joining a clan would have to be increased as well so this idea may be completely unrealistic, but LOTB developers and programmers would be able to figure something like this out if they wanted to. Maybe they don’t — I don’t know.
A simpler idea which was mentioned in the past was to to put a cap on the max number of total battles per week that could be played by any player.
Winning % for attack and defense would have been used to rank players. Instead of the point system currently use. The cap could be 500 battles, 800, 1,000 whatever. But this idea would cut revenue (slightly) by limiting battles per week. But there could have been an ironite “fee” or charge each players based on what tier they were in, so If someone wasn’t playing and was in a bottom tier they wouldn’t be charged any ironite—they’d just get the satellite 15 type reward. This may also have been a terrible idea to fix the arena mechanics, but the point is that they could be fixed by a team of people that design mobile games for a living if the desire to do so was there. This particular idea would not be adopted they said, because the base code wouldn’t support it and writing new code for it wasn’t a priority, nor was it cost effective.
But I happen to agree with Natasmai on his one point about the customer relations team finding out how the development team feels about what’s going on and whether or not they approve of it. If they do there are some clans full of legendary players that could surely “out cheat” the clan I’m in, but we could also beat out some other clans depending on who was playing that week. I personally don’t like the clan boosting that goes on at all, but if the dev team feels it is a fair part of the game then I’d be on board to try it—even though it would make me feel like a toffee-nosed, shriveled husk, a rapscallion and ne’er-do-well.
Everyone can only attack the lists they are shown.. you all are making shit up.... and WHINING about it like children.

Some of you really should read this thread.
I mean Jofer wasn’t event smart enough to hit “exit”’ to lose a battle on purpose. He thought you had to bring a single Eddie in with no talismans on to lose.
I can’t say I recommend anyone read that entire thread again. You’ll never get that wasted time back.
The devs still need to fix the arena after releasing beta clans exposed new exploits, but they also need to fix connectivity issues and work on the promised new content. An official statement on how they feel about the current pvp issue would be enough for now I think. Devs, yay or nay on the clan boosting?
Oh you didn't know? Yup has the worst luck ever. Nothing every goes his way. Things break for him when they don't break for other people, and he experiences WAY more server crashes, lockouts, and other annoying shit than the rest of us.
We all have wonderful experiences every time we play this game, and everything works perfectly for us. Yup, on the other hand, is tormented by the game. Hence the constant whining like a baby with a missing pacifier.
Of course, that only explains the whining. The lying... well, there's no explanation for that besides being a miserable dingleberry.
I think Stonewall got it right: we need to make Yump great again!
Attachment 7257
What the hell are you even going on about?
Seems this has all taken on it's own life and now is completely non-sensical.
If any of you think I would refresh merely to attack you again.. you REALLY need to check your level of sheer arrogance. None of you are that important.
The Trump thing is hilarious.... since only brain-dead children who know absolutely nothing about me would make that comparison..
And Zugzwang.. ask me to be in your clan.. try to be my "buddy" then pull this crap.. are you 12 years old as well???
Seriously folks, it's a GAME. That's all it is. Making it personal really reflects on your level of maturity.
How about before the thread gets locked we wait to see if the devs respond with a position on the current exploit in arena now that clan beta has brought it to light?
Yump, you seem mad. You mad Yump?
I’m not pulling any crap with you Yup. I simply pointed out that the victory point totals are always the current totals. I suggest you just cop to it and admit what you did rather than lie about it. It remains to be seen whether or not it’s considered a ban-able offense by the current dev team. And when I asked you to be in the clan it was because we were looking for a replacement for Lufata and your name was mentioned. Totally unrelated to the current conversation.
I think you kiddies are HILARIOUS! :) Really. Its funny you all are so worked up over some stupid little app :)
You've all have just fabricated a complete story to spin in order to justify one user attacking me. And you all simply pile on.. like dogs.. There's nothing for me to "cop to". Dev can absolutely check my app history.. I have no issue with that. Unlike many.. I've always been open, honest, and forthright. It's a game.. there's really little point to doing what you all are doing and making up things to target another user. I mean what's the goal??? Just to make me feel bad? That ain't gunna happen. And why would you even want to do that?? I'm of absolutely no consequence to you playing or enjoying this app. So again what's the goal?? To hurt another person? You may want to look inward a bit. If anything is "bannable" it certainly won't be my behavior. All this in a thread about "etiquette" which, to me, proves how little some have.
If attacking me makes you feel better.. then by all means.. feel free to attack this random anonymous username. It means nothing. I understand that everyone is dealing with things in life I know nothing about. If my being your punching bag assists you in getting over a tough time this holiday season, I'm willing to do that for you all. Happy holidays. I hope whatever you are struggling with gets relieved.
Can we just lock this thread.
It’s done nothing good for any of us and it’s fallen into petty squabbling
Yes, Yump, the world is unfair and we're all singling you out, angel you are, because we're mean-spirited people who want to "make [you] feel bad", "hurt another person", and so on. That's exactly what's going on here.
Oh wait - SDTull and I worked together on an idea that we though might lead to better, more enjoyable gameplay in the arena. And it didn't happen to be popular, but you win some, you lose some. We decided to carry on in our own clans by having it as an internal policy. And then you jumped in with:
But you know, you didn't start anything. You're an innocent lamb, and the people who you blatantly spam attacked while we were trying to get our clan up on the podium are all lying jerks who just want to be mean to poor little you because you're such a nice and lovable guy. And Zugzwang, who is not a member of our clan but merely pointed out that you're a liar, well he's just a devil to pick on poor helpless Yump.Quote:
Discordian posting about honor is laughable.
But yeah, you're right, we're hilarious.
Now go away.
For emphasis: As seen in this thread itself...... Discordian posting about honor is laughable.
Dear mods,
Please close this thread and throw it in the trash.
Sincerely,
The users of this forum
I read through this entire thread and all I remember are cropped images of what could easily be regular arena back-and-forths and pathetic name-calling.
But it was one of the most interesting things to happen on this forum in a while.
Mine was an image from yesterday which showed how the point total of the attacker would always show as one number rather than change each battle. And I don’t think this thread should be locked. Maybe some posts could be deleted, but the main idea of the thread should stay. It’s a good idea to talk about this and whether or not the devs intended this to happen or not.
To put in my own 2 cents, I think it's entirely up to everyone to follow their own personal honor code when it comes to the arena.
I personally will not be participating in the arena boosting as this is not the place. The arena was never intended to be a group effort, it's a marker of personal achievement. Having others prop you up doesn't prove your ability, it just gives you nice things. If your code allows for that, then power to you but mine does not.
I would also like to say that this was never the place for the childish squabbling on both sides I've been privy to. This thread was started to address an issue and your personal bullshit was never wanted or needed here. It didn't add anything to the debate and only resulted in watering down an otherwise useful discussion. Perhaps some day the devs will weigh in as well but until then this never should have gotten here and it's silly that you all let it go so far.
PvP in mobile games always has the inherent risk of someone gaming the system, breaking, exploiting, etcetera. If people want to declare that they'll be following a certain code to how they approach this system then it isn't for one or another to judge them, but simply do the same or don't. Petty arguments are for children and politicians.
Valuable insight! But I categorically disagree. The devs should either condone this happening or patch it as an exploit. There shouldn’t be a “one day maybe they will address it”. If you read the thread from 2017 they fixed where one could be attacked without limit by setting limits. Now it needs to be revisited and there are new issues with the introduction of clans beta. In my view, the devs should either fix it as an exploit as part of their working on the next phase of clans or condone it as part of the idea with releasing clans—to have players team up in the arena (for high level rewards).
Just took the time to look through this thread and well...there's good insights in here for sure but all this name calling and whatnot just makes these points way less valuable. I feel like it's an important topic for sure. However, conversations should still stay civil, even when the two sides have a disliking towards each other. I get that it might be difficult at times but still, we are grown ups, not some 12 year olds. Bottom line: if you want to go to war against each other, do it in DMs. Going after each other publically could just lessen your reputation.
I couldn't agree with you more. I just know that, historically speaking, the devs here are rarely quick to fix things or implement changes to their systems. I don't know how long The Silent Planet and Isle of Avalon have been "Coming Soon" but I know it's been well over the 7 months I've been playing and the most recent update is that they're still a long ways off. Night City was announced within months of launch and only came out last Christmas, so while the previous PvP fix may have been implemented fairly quickly I'm not holding my breath on this one.
I do agree there should be an official statement or something as to whether or not this is condoned and I'm unsure why there hasn't already been one. Perhaps it's being debated at a higher level as well before a final decision is made.
Maybe they'll mention it in the next "Update from the News Frontier".
Listen everyone, we've heard the feedback on this. We need to have a more in depth discussion on this in the Studio. The implementation of Clans has brought it to the forefront but I would not set the onus on it as the reason this came about.
To be clear, a fix for this is not on our Roadmap and we will have to wait and see if it is something we can bump up in priority.
Also, name calling and cyberbullying sucks, man. Just be a little more excellent please. Otherwise I start handing out red cards and I have done everything I can to avoid that until now.
