I think the only human input is your team, everything else is set. That way the devs can control difficulty. If it were all player teams, then it'd be easy to beat by many, especially those who can hit the top of PvP.
That is why I was confused - I wondered why guys who are at the top week in week out were struggling against a fellow human player. If the teams are artificial though then that would explain why.
On that note for people who have completed level A this week how hard is it? I am not liking the look of the Navigator/Goddess Aset/Warrior Lilith/Horus team at all :(
Andy, level A is easy, level AA, too. I didn’t change any talisman. I was struggling at level AAA last week because I didn’t change talisman and after losing three or four fights I ran out of warrior Eddies. There was one team with IE and Gimp that I couldn’t manage. This week I’m at level AAA but didn’t start so far. I’ll wait for next week.
BTW, i saw you send me a request last week or so. I don’t have an open spot ATM but I’ll let you know.
I’m trying to get as far as possible without spending any Ironite. Since it was opened to all I am now at Grade B and since last night I have cleared 3 battles. I have 2 more battles to finish to clear B, which I’ll do tomorrow morning. Over 24 hours to clear one Grade is too much.
I have only been able to play one Arena match each day because if this.
It’s impossible to play Arena and Gauntlet.
As many has already said, this needs it’s own time.
Or better yet, get rid off SoW and make it free.

So, I was right to be concerned about the Nav/Warrior Lilith/Goddess Aset/Horus team. Thought I would try and get it out of the way first and just lost twice to it - second time getting my arse handed to me on a plate :( Any suggestions of a team/talismans to beat it (I just hope I have the characters that are suggested)? I am probably going to struggle to clear this whole level now :( :(

-wait, does that mean we need 62 different Eddies and 186 unique, lvl 100 & fully sharded characters...?! Because then I need to start using gold on inventory space rather than those legendary souls 😳 Not to mention needing another 5-10 years to fully shard them all 😦

Also, it would be very nice to be able to see which of my characters has which talisman sets on. As it is, I have 3 rescuers with a different set on all 3, and no way of knowing which one has the energy set versus the eternal set (or whatever the green set is called from the Horus event). Actually this would be tremendously helpful across all the worlds and Arena too 😁
Difficulty is too high for me, I just had my fully sharded lvl 100 team with maxed talismans almost get their behinds kicked on the E (yes, “E”!!) grade 😵 So much for that fun LOL. 😆 Not playing this more than grade F in the future, just to get a rank and the lowest prize.
The coin toss should not be there; what’s wrong with letting us start every time, and with a decent amount of energy, like in PvE? It’s not like you aren’t providing enough obstacles as is already, with the insane SoW prizes, class and dupe restrictions and INSANE amounts of weird talismans I’ve never heard of or seen before on “easy” teams.
I hope I got it wrong, but why do we need to fight for rank? Can’t we just win the thing and get first prize, without risking someone else grapping it/kicking us down the ladder.?
Then again, I dislike the Arena as much for the same reasons(apart from SoW cost), so maybe I’m just a bit put out by the similarities.
The prize on the battles should just be lowered to 1 per battle, like in Arena.
Defeat should not use up your characters, that’s just adding salt to the wound 🤕
Otherwise it looked promising, but I have a feeling that I’m stuck with the darn Arena for a long, long while.

To be fair, each level clears the usage. So you can use the same Eddie on different levels, you just can't use the same Eddie on the same level. So really, you'd need 10 Eddies for SS then you can use those same 10 for SSS. If you lose a match. you need 11 Eddies, lose 2 matches you need 12 ... etc.
Then consider that there are only 34 Eddies total across all classes. Then factor in class restrictions such as Magus (7)/Warrior(8)... and that some are exceptionally weak even fully powered (Wicker Ed, Rtth, etc)..... so.. yeah.. it's not really geared to make players feel welcome.
It's not a "game" mode for players.. it's a "game" mode for NF to hopefully inspire purchases.
I share the same opinion. I reached AAA now and I think this is my sweetspot. I was a little greedy, bought 2 or 3 SoW refills. 9 days left that I could have used to do the battles. But those 9 days can be filled with Arena fights now. So there is a strategy about timing between PvP and Gauntlet fights to be optimised.
Yeah, that's where I think I'm at, too. I had some spare time last night and spent 60 Ironite finishing up Tier AA. Spending Ironite to try to complete AAA faster (if I even can at all) doesn't seem worth the rewards. A fourth talisman from a 3-set isn't much use, especially when it's a talisman type that's not likely to appear again for a while.
Why am I still “unranked” at level AAA?
If it's any consolation this is what mine is showing. The rank in the lower left corner shows 470 and stays at that. Waiting to see if anything changes at daily reset.

Maybe rank is determined randomly, since NF seems to be hell bent on making every aspect of the game random. I guess since they lack skill, they don't want skill to be a factor in the game. :cool:
Same here still rank 83 it doesn’t matter how many fights I do I even have better stats than rank 2 91% 51/56 one more I’ll get to level SSS I reached to support a few days ago no answer yet but as long as they give me the correct rewards no problem
I was hoping for a reset and the ability to continue to my 5th battle. Unfortunately, it seems my gauntlet days are done.
Maybe the fix for ranking issue consists on resetting everything and that is something nobody wants. Anyways waiting for devs answer.
I managed - with a combination of a heroic Coalgiver Eddie and a lucky Trooper Eddie pick - to get past AAA. But having now won my last AAA battle and 3 battles in S (Which is really easy if you have a large roster) i am still on the exact same rank as before. And according to the score board i am far ahead of the people around me (rank 20-30) on number of wins.
Yeah i think there is an issue with the ranking... i'm stuck at rank #28, going from grade AAA to SS...
The gauntlet is very fun to play but maybe 2-3 things can be adjusted, the main issues for me is the cost in SoW (impossible for me to play both arena and gauntlet).
If it stay like this i will probably not play this feature even if it's fun :/
The difficulty is also very high, i'm at the middle of the rank SS, i already used 80% of the strongest characters (the OP ones), with no refresh i'm sure to not be able to win any battle in grade SSS lol.
Even with a deep roster (all the possible characters except 2-3 limited) and a high relics level, clearing SSS grade looks like impossible for me at the moment...

Had a couple losses in both AAA and S; one team in each gave me difficulty due to their Talismans and it was fun to clear them - just enough challenge and wasn’t sure I would make it.
Now - first team in SS is a Cyborg, Blue Lilith, Yellow Lilith, and Sekhmet. Because we don’t see Talismans we have to assume Valor on Sekhmet, Primordial on Cyborg, and Destiny on Blue Lilith - and that involves fighting them with your best toons. I’m not saying these levels can’t be beat - I’m saying that for the average player the risk/reward relative to the challenge level appears to be unfavorable.
The two week reset is nice. PvP is like a cup of coffee in the morning - easy to pull out and do on the spot and then go back to work - Gauntlet takes more thought so it’s nice to have that larger window.
It’s been discussed before - but Talsman management really needs to be improved for Gauntlet to be a success and not a tedious endeavor. It would be nice if we could group them into sets - not simply individual Talismans - and simply choose a set from a drop down list or something of that nature - even if it’s already on a toon. It would also be great if that list showed which toon a set was on so that it would be easy to find and we equip them straight from that list - with all the switching going on it’s sometimes easy to forget. This would make for a huge improvement in playability.
I think it’s been overall pretty fun so far - it’s nice to have a challenge and it felt good to overcome them - but as I stare at the first team in SS ( who named this - the Corrupt General?) I’m getting the feeling the cost and risk of failure will limit advancement...
Too many cases where the game has crashed out on me, losing my SoW and characters so that I can't play again, so not ranked at the moment.
Even used Nebu fragments to grab Sekmet and powered her up, then the game crashed and she got lost too.
The crashing chewing up characters and SoW is really annoying.
The whole toon selection should be rebuild.
With all those new toons we have to swipe several hours.
Some devices may also get ruts :-O
I’ve been stuck for 2 days unable to do anything same bug, last time we were able to do 3 fights after every reset but no this time I didn’t have any problem until I get to level SSS

My first impressions are good,I can say.I have to say congrats to the team for this idea.However,first thing that stroke me was that this game mode is cost prohibitive.Another major issue is the coin toss.After some 34-35 tries,I may got 3-4 tosses in my favor.I like the challenge,I really do.But I am up to S the least in terms of difficulty and SOW spending,and I spent some ironite to just try the beta. Overall,the SOW cost and rewards should be readjusted somehow.I understand it is beta so I will wait for the final release to discuss if SOW cost is lower and rewards are a bit better in terms of milestones. No bugs for the moment for me,except ranking;if only I press on “ranked rewards” tab will I be able to see a general ranking like I am in “S 500” tier.I hope at least to get the rewards described there.Cheers to the devs and fellow troopers!
It's not really "beta" -- I mean, they take player resources, that's not "beta" anywhere. They merely tag it as "beta" so they could make more changes without people being too upset or at least to have an argument should players get upset. Basically the "beta" tag gives them a default "out" for any complaint, that's all. If it were really "beta", it'd be free to play until all the bug are worked out. Or they'd be awarding the SOW back to the players after each battle and typically there'd be no actual rewards or exceptionally minimal rewards.
Yes,I totally agree with you in that.A “beta” tag should at least not lead to draining that huge amount of resources.I just mentioned “beta” because I am really curious to see whether the dev team will listen to the player base in terms of lowering sow,giving some better rewards,and adjusting difficulty.It is really sad though that their tactic is to allow all players to try the mode,but with the great cost of losing their hard earned ironite.
Agree this really isn’t a beta if we are using and losing resources to bug test. I submitted a ticket on losing resources plus the counted loss because of the forced update and haven’t heard a thing back from the devs. It’s been a week and crickets.

No way I have the resources available to clear it now. Could only afford one lose and with my resources left I have no way to clear a team of Samurai, Warrior Lilith, Gunner Golden Son with Primordials and Horus with Eternal Talisman.
Used my best characters for that one and naturally, I lost the toss, was stunned into oblivion by Horus and couldn’t do anything against their every skill triggering.
I’m out of Gauntlet permanently to be honest. Until they lower the SoW costs, it’s just not worth it.
Cleared A with minimal problems. Don't have enough Magus/Warrior allies to atempt AA. Quite frankly it's cost in SoW discourages me from even attempting any battles in AA. Also a bit peeved at the accuracy boost for the defense rearing its head in Level A. I'm assuming that only gets worse.
Part of the rewards in this 2 weeks season are Talisman that you cannot get anywhere else in the game. It is a 3-set Talisman. So it makes absolutely no sense to get 1, 2, 4 or 5 of them. I reached the rank where you will get one set (but all the same subtype, which I don't like) at the end of the season. It was ok to do this, of course it did cost some SoW but not too much to do it in 2 weeks in my opinion. But to get 2 sets of these Talismans you would need to get to tier SSS and be ranked top10-50 ...impossible for me and probably for more than 90% of the playerbase.
Apart from reaching AAA for the 3-set, the lower sweetspots in my opinion are:
Tier D -> 2 rare souls
Tier B -> 2 skill shards
Tier A -> 3 heroic souls
I had 2 game crashes in total. This is not much, but it is severe, as you lose the SoW and the used chars for your next try. Apart from that, everything runs quite smooth... but yes, not very surprising, as it is more or less the PvP environment with a different graphical design...
I had no crashes but what just happened in my first battle of AA is where I draw the line. When a permadeathed toon gets revived count me out.
Gauntlet is one big copy/paste pvp...
only good thing will be NIGHT CITY but maybe in next few years...

It looks like there is still an issue with the gauntlet ranking for me : in the back of the screen my ranking is #2 and when i go for looking the ranking of other players my ranking is #56. (i've played a battle for update the rank)

I have an issue as well I still can’t do another fight to fix my rank I tried again today after reset still the game freezes after pressing the battle icon.
My rank there 209 but my wife's amy-3977 says unranked and were both at AAA... Started beta bout 5 days before her... But she just wants makes sure she gets her rewards from that tier lol...

I didn’t play much Gauntlet cause I don’t like it and it is totally useless for me. Nevertheless wanted to give it a chance. Am at F atm. Went in with the team of Navigator Ed, Nomad, Warrior Troll and AOS, all full maxed with full maxed talis. I lost the coin toss and my whole team got killed within one turn! I mean, WHAT??? This is just stage 2 of Gauntlet and a full maxed team gets stomped into the ground within seconds!?!? For sure, something is running totally wrong here! With this + high costs + ridiculous rewards this is by far the worst part of this game. I’m out of this!
Is anyone else running into issues with maxing out the available character inventory slots?
I am very reluctant to let go of anything that might be useful in gauntlet and now that I know I need duplicate copies of many characters I'm down to my last few available slots. I've locked many characters I had previously planned to sacrifice this month now that I've played beta and know what to expect.
Keeping duplicates is really having an impact on my inventory.
