It appears there is more interest in playing gauntlet than the forum reviews would indicate. I have played 8 battles and only rank 2100. The top 100 have played at least 25 battles. That shows there is an interest in gauntlet because people are purchasing SoW to play or have quit the arena.
I play both Arena & Gauntlet (as far as I can progress in) but it's sure expensive... I try to get the SS and if I can grab the Talis, it's all bonus.

Gauntlet is new. That’s why people play. I did too. I guess I will not do it next week. It is far too expensive and I will not spent tons of skill shards to power up dupes. I think there is no other way to pass AAA. And as it seems to change every week you will probably need to shard up many dupes of all colors.

I'm still playing the Gauntlet because I think it's fun.
Enjoying Gauntlet! 1st Gauntlet got destroyed quick trying to figure it out. 2nd Gauntlet did much better.
Going to take it as it comes, if rewards are good I’ll play, if not will sit it out...
It’s something geared for long term players, definitely not for newer players with limited teams...
I really like it. It would be nice if it weren't so expensive, but the higher tier rewards are pretty good and sometimes can't be obtained elsewhere. Also, it will be a great place to quickly burn SoW next week during the Sacrifice event. The most frustrating part of Sacrifice events in the past was having 150+ SoW in the bank and no time to use it.
I play just to burn some SoW that would go to waste or going against losing arena battles. A few rewards are better than losing battles in the arena. As I stated before I played 8 battles an am ranked 2100, so there are gauntlet battles being fought.
There will always be a select few that merely want to be "top dog" whatever the cost... that doesn't mean the Gauntlet is popular.
I like gauntlet, but I won't go beyond A, too much SoW.
The Gauntlet gives a reason for us collecting and powering all these characters. Running your teams and talisman combos within constraints of Gauntlet forces me to put lots more effort into the game. It is rewarding to reach deep into the collection of characters and place them correctly for passing each grade, making the set of battles like a war campaign instead of a quick hit or miss Arena battle. I would rather think, strategize, and play in the hi stakes Gauntlet than purchasing ironite to run autoplay overnight to get 1000 Powerslave battles to get new character fragments. It is costly, too much at 30 ironite/10 sow battle at SS grade. It will cost me 300 to clear now, and then SSS the characters I use in SS are not available? I dont have a roster like Slauki to burn through this requirement-not to mention the ironite. I buy the 10 monthly refill deal, that is all, I don't see how anyone can get massive piles,of this without spending serious coin. Not likely from playing Powerslave 100 times/day.
I quit Arena I use all the sow in Gauntlet for me is more fun than Arena there are a few bugs but no big deal I spent around 150 ironites in the last cycle and i got rank #1 I think 150 ironites is a good investment 2 sets of necropolis talis, 150 FC, 1 mythical soul, 300 heroic soul fragments and 250 mythical soul fragments plus all the rewards that we get for clearing every floor, this new feature is not as popular as Arena for various reasons some don’t have a good roster, not enough relics or just simply they don’t like it
Gauntlet needs it’s own currency and a faster way to swap talismans
What I like the most about gauntlet is that it take less time, better rewards and there’s more strategy involved is not just having the OP characters here even a 1* can help you to take one more battle
I played Gauntlet this week up to AA, and now taking it slow (like 1 battle a day). Mainly just want to get the next achievement, and use the rewards to boost my characters a bit (mainly IC for relics).
Not playing Arena much now as my fixed line net connection dropped out this morning and I'm doing everything on 4G, which I only have a limited data allowance on. So I'll probably just do the basic bare minimum in the game plus using all my troopers. Hopefully it'll be fixed by tomorrow, otherwise it'll really start to impact me achieving this event.
I like Gauntlet a lot but as all here, I think that we should have a new currency for it and the cost needs to go down.
And I still feel that being able to use troopers for the stages would make the gauntlet even more interesting for many players. This could be offset by making the stages a little harder, but you'd finally be happy for a trooper Samurai Eddie to pass the last battle in AAA...
That being said, I played the first two Gauntlets full-on, using my ironite to buy SOWs. This time I play with the left-overs of my SOW that I don't use in the Arena. The Iron Coins lost and not available for Relics outweigh the Soul Talismans that are the main prize this week, so I'm not going full Gauntlet.
I think I'll play it more like BNW: If I need something that I can only get there (like another set of Echo talis), I play. Otherwise, it's too expensive.

100% with both this and Kamuz's points. It's something new, something different. It's a fun challenge that really makes you think and gives some good rewards too. There's a good chance that the rewards could be even better once it's out of beta, given that the current rewards are only temporary. Of course it needs some adjustments, I think enemy stats and the cost to battle being the major points, but I think it's got good potential. It's not for everyone of course, but for those who don't really play arena, like myself, or just want something new, it's another way to spend saved up SOW and another way to earn rewards.Quote:

So after all, is a good feature, almost for me. Even if is just another kind of arena it feels some fresh and LotB needed something new besides new characters every week. Now there is a reason to catch them all (lol).
I really like Gauntlet a lot but like others have stated, It really needs it's on currency. I stopped playing last week once the cost got up to 9 Sands of War per battle. That's just way too much unless you can space out your battles which is not how I like playing. I like the fact that it makes you think and it's given me a reason to take my fully sharded Cultists and Pharaoh Sun Spirit back into battle for the first time in a long time. I would still like to see more variety in the challenges in the future. I haven't fought any battles in SS and SSS yet but I feel the same way as Sick about skill sharding a bunch of duplicates, probably just will not participate much if that's going to be a neccessity.
I really haven't felt the benefits of gauntlet yet. The RvR is still too skewed and the only time I see myself playing it will be if the rewards are something I want. I can earn more IC in Arena so that is what I will focus on unless the Guantlet changes.
I like it, but my inventory is not too good for getting too far. I'm stuck on f and working to build my Magus and sentinel to be able to get through it. My Gunner and Assassin see plentiful enough to use, if I can get there lol.
my peeve and I contacted support about this crap. If my AI opponent can use any class of toon why cant I? I gave up on D this week till the reset.
I was fighting in AAA round ( it means only Maguses allowed for me ) against VHE with Eclipse set, Purple Lilith with Eternal Set, Beelzebul with Redemption Set and Pharoh Dog king with Destiny set. Is it some kind of sick joke? I need 5 Magus Eddies for that round and minimum 15 high level magus chars. Such resistance is sure defeat for first try. And for second retry I need 4 more top maguses. Really? Heh?
This is the thing i don't like too.., only xxx class.., the really damn thing is.., if you have to battle five teams and you only have e.g. 5-6 Magus Eddie at "Only Magus Class" and you lose two battles.., this was it. xD you can't do it if you do not have dupes or so.., :DQuote:

By the way, this is exactly the tier where we get the full Soul Set, so I think that the difficulty is quite correct. It is possible to get here, but to get above that, then it requires a super-roster.
I'm regretting sacrificing 4th blue Lilith already ( What an irony! ). With 4 Magus Liliths I could finish that AAA round. If enemies are using Redemption set and will always win coin toss then only way i could think of to survive first round is Destiny set(s). It seems you need to peek first what is waiting for you. Just cheap low level team. And then to attack again with prepared chars. It costs 16 sow and 2 Magus Eddies per enemy team. Low level maguses are easy to get from souls, but Eddies who can survive first round are real problem.
Believe it or not, but a fully sharded Speed of Light Eddie (with Holy - Predator - Electricity) car survive first rounds and make the win for an average Team.Quote:

I think Gauntlet is pretty popular. Last week I've made below 200 in ranking for the first time and with almost no effort at all. That's probably a sign people are spending time and SoW on Gauntlet a lot.
The Gauntlet is a lot of work and challenging. Lots of moving talismans around and using characters not normally used. Wish I had a couple hundred skill shards. It would make things easier.
Last event I completed level AA and ranked 60, this event I have 3 AA battles left and ranked about 400. There seems to be more players this event.
I haven't purchased any SoW to reach this level, I am more selective in the arena battles. I dont fight losing battles just not to lose SoW, i fight in the gauntlet.
I think the rewards through level A are worth the battles..
The arena is becoming who has the new OP tunes and talisman win. The ability to steal or block beneficial buffs seems to be the key to wining. Most winners have a primordial, destiny and eternal talis.
Today encountered next team in AAA: SoL Eddie with Endure and Guard, Magus Lilith with Destiny set, Dog of War with Eternal set and Prisoner with Primordial set. I give up.
AAA seems to be the step ahead of the big stuff, in both of these last weeks i just reach the AAA grade because in both situations, my roster is to fight the enough battles, and i have a lot of maguses with 4* but i don't have the enough fragments to level them up, so now i'll try to use the day to farm LoL, the teams that i got seems to be hard than the other ones but almost possible to finish.
To AAA to S is not that big difference in rewards also, but it may be good to see what are my actual limits when going too far.
