Have you ever experienced the 3-tap bug in PVP?

As the title suggests, I'm curious how many of you have experienced the incredibly annoying 3-tap bug while PVPing. This awful bug causes you to "lose" the battle since you'll be forced to either reload the game or exit the battle. I'd just like to know how many other players have experienced this bug as it seems that the devs believe it isn't very common.

For those who don't know, the 3-tap bug is the bug that occurs only when toons use a basic attack or skill that has an animation that requires you to tap 3 times. At the end of the 3rd tap, the toon does this weird jerky movement, rather than a clean transition into their attack animation, and then the game hangs with both teams staring endlessly at each other. The player loses any ability to make a move due to all buttons disappearing except for the ones at the top of the screen that allow you to exit the battle.

For reference, this bug has led to ALL of my PVP losses this week, totaling 9 so far. I would have a 100% winrate if not for this annoying bug. I hope others aren't plagued by it as much as I am, as it completely ruins the fun of PVPing. :\

Do you use same chars on offense too? I have tried with cyborg but have not got locked out yet. So nope :/

Yeah, it happens with both my own characters and the opponent's characters. It's actually made it so I can't use Cyborg's Dead Eye (his best basic :() because of the chance that it will freeze the game.

One curious thing I've noticed though is that the bug doesn't appear to happen during autoplay. For instance, the enemy SSDs in Game of Dice have never frozen the game when using their power skill on autoplay, whereas I've seen opponent SSDs freeze the game on their power skill in PVP manual play. I wish the devs could play on my account or something to see if it really is an account-based bug. :\

I meant if you were using same team when that bug appears. It might be something related to the characters used in the team.

The weird part it's that i've never had the 3-tap bug, even when i was using vision eddie's take...but i've experienced some "wtf all-buttons disappearead hang" with normal 1-tap skills, especially in LoL during the immortal souls event last week...

Nope. It doesn't matter what toon/team it is from my experience. All that matters is whether or not the toon uses a 3-tap move. I've had Cyborgs, VEs, Mummies, GCRs, SSDs, Soldier Eds, etc. all proc the bug when using one of their 3-tap moves.

i had this twice or three times a few weeks ago but nothing since then. really strange, you seem to be the only one who constantly get this...
workaround idea would be not to use this when you are sure that you will win and take out enemies first, who can 3tap attack.

but obv this is lame...what did the support say?

Same.. happened few times with GCR 3 tap revival skill.. but after some update never happen again

Support hasn't answered my email (even though I sent it a couple days ago). I do stay away from 3-tap moves towards the end of the battle, but unfortunately, the enemy AI does not. :| I have had a few battles where the last enemy standing freezes the game with a 3-tap move. It's aggravating.

I've never seen it. I use Regular Eddie most in the Arena, and I use his 3-tap skills often, never with any issues.

I also use Magus Allied Soldier shields often, again with no issues.

I voted yes, but I must add that on my iPhone SE I've never seen the bug, while on Bluestacks on my laptop it's a recurring issue, making me lose trooper badges

Also on iOS with a few different devices, never seen it. Guessing it's isolated to emulators or specific android devices.

I've had it happen to me as well. Never linked it to 3 taps as it was rare enough but the description fits perfectly.

I have both android and iOS platforms, not emulated, happened on iOS (iPad) only afaik.

Oh whoa, I'm glad I made this thread since you guys can help the devs pinpoint the issue. Pretty crazy that it seemingly doesn't affect iOS at all. My phone runs Android and is a Motorola Droid Turbo 2. The emulator I use, MEmu, also runs an Android system. I've experienced the bug on both devices, so it may very well be account specific or Android specific in general.

Hey! Just mentioned it happened to me on non emulated iOS (iPad) :)

Also, I don't remember this happening again since I drop'd x1 speed for x2 (then x3 when introduced) but might be wrong. Before I'd switch to x1, then back to fast mode during animations, and thought the bug was due to that.

Pretty sure about the iPad bit though.

Oh, I missed that! So it's not OS specific. Interesting. This is the weirdest bug I've ever encountered in any game haha. I hope the devs will be able to fix it with the information we've given thus far. The update from 2 months ago created it, so something went wrong there.

Definitely had the buttons disappear, mostly in the past but never linked it to three tap moves.

Some playin' around trying to recreate the bug... Tritium, as Lulero pointed out, it might be linked to the speed. So the reason why I never experienced on iOS is pretty simple: I always play on max speed. However, my emulator tends to stutter (dunno why) sometimes, and on my alt I still have 180/300 second challenges, and sometimes I use (current version) 2x speed - the 3-tap happens there a lot. I pumped the speed to 3x today on emulator for gunner LoL grind, and not even once did I get tap bug.

Thanks for the information, Enti! I've also noticed that it never occurs during autoplay, which I play on 3x speed. I used to think that autoplay negated the bug, but maybe it actually is the speed that does it. This bug is so weird. :p

Haven't experienced this bug, which seems to be very annoying. I play the game on a android (tablet & phone) and with the KoPlayer emulator on my pc's.

Its worth noting that the "new 3x" is really just the old 2x (per the release notes) current 2x is the old 1x, and the current 1x is some slo-mo. Not sure if this refers the original 1x and 2x or the slightly sped up versions from a month ago. Worth considering when diagnosing of it really has to do with speed

I've been running battles on 3x speed the past day and a half and haven't had the 3-tap bug occur at all. Also, I've been purposely using some 3-tap moves (Cyborg's Dead Eye, GCR's revive) and the bug never procs. I'll give it a couple more days before I become fully convinced that the bug depends on game speed. For reference, I used to play on 2x speed (or 1x before the speed update), and that's when the 3-tap bug would occur quite often.

I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread so far. I sent an email to support with all of the information we've crowdsourced together and Michelle (customer support member) has passed it on to the team for investigation. It's only a matter of time before the bug gets squashed now!

Also, I can safely say that playing at max speed (3x) negates the bug completely. I've switched to solely playing in max speed now and haven't had the bug proc at all ever since I made the change. When you get used to playing at max speed, you wouldn't have it any other way! It definitely helps with breezing through PVP battles.

Might explain why I haven't seen this issue. I only play at 3x...but glad it is getting addressed.
