Guess this update will mark the return of SoL Eddie, which I'm happy to see. I wonder what else we'll get, maybe one of those "unannounced game modes" these patch notes keep throwing around...
hmm seems interesting, but no changes to eda? pair her with endure and you have an unbeatable attacking team if you take 3 of them. and in fact guys start to do that recently and brag about it on FB. so it's a broken 100% win strategy vs everyone. and you said that you don't want a team vs everyone, but in fact this is a huge leak which has to be adressed.
aside that not sure why you guys focus on a 3* magus eddie while there are a lot of other 4*/5* eddies who would need some love too (viking, hallowed, carriage rider, witch doctor ...)
(Hopeful thinking) .... Do the alterations the super-rare talismans (Lightning, Zone, Rage, Etc) at all possibly mean drop rates may be altered (i.e. improved)?
I was hoping Carriage Rider Eddie would get buffs this time but SoL was a bit of a surprise. They sure do have a growing list of Talismans that will be in the new content. I don't know why they're telling us this if they don't know when said content will be finished but the Talismans themselves sound pretty cool anyways.
Would it be possible to make it so that endure can't be extended? I have my Eda wearing invisibility Talismans and they don't seem as broken since it goes away as soon as she attacks.
I'd hope that they can fix this without nerfing her passive or power move because she carries my attack team most of the time.
Considering that we know that Perfect Immunity is partially broken on live right now and that the Endure can be stolen, that brag definitely seems more like hot air than actual truth...
Even once Perfect Immunity is fixed, though, I can think of at least two different approaches for defense teams that would have a decent chance of winning that should still be competitive to normal offenses seen at the top of the leaderboard (in fact, I've reviewed battles that include some of those components on top-end defense teams). Whether or not players want to tailor their defenses with that in mind is up to them.
Most of our focus recently has been on updating 4* and 5* Eddies (Aces High, Tailgunner, Fear of the Dark, Hallowed [in this patch], etc). We don't want to completely neglect 3* Eddies, but we will still be mainly focusing on the higher-rarity ones.
okay, as long as you guys have it on the radar i'm happy :).
don't forget we are talking about a very unique offense startegy. i have my doubts that AI can handle this at all, even if they would have some weapons. but more than 95% of all defenses doesn't have it right now, nor they should since this is a not so popular yet. just want to make this a little more of an issue, to keep things rolling a bit faster :)
Actually a defense to counteract Endure + PI is pretty readily available. I think most by level 40-50 have the capability even if they don't have the overall hitting strength to win matches.
I love updates, I only wish that some hotfixes were dropped a little faster, but to be fair to NF 1 update per month is above average, in some games balancing changes takes 4 months to occur.
And... I like the SoL changes, since Buff Stealing plays a huge part on the game nowadays, the changes does sound promising. He is a very well designed Eddie IMO, love his design, and the way he "Hacks" the game with his fury is one of the coolest fury animations for me.
And a little controversial opinion here, I am liking the way PI is working atm, usually PI was SO strong that any char with it is a REAL menace until it fades, or in Eda's case, until the buffs *hopefully* fades.
As it is today: any char that have it is Immune to any debuff, can't have the PI removed or stoled, so the char can't be debuffed/cc'ed in any way. Which is still strong imo, but the fact that in some way PI now has a pseudo-counter, that only steals the buffs, they still can't be removed.
One of my most successful attacking team doesn't have Eda and/or buff removers/stealers.
I know I was a little harsh and said a couple of times that this game is beyond broken (not in a bad manner fyi, just in a way that somethings would be really hard to fully fix, taking some technical approach), and to be honest sometimes strange bugs happen that they could also have a collateral fixing effect.
And the forums, with those pro-active posts are making me like this game more and more. The community here is just awesome. Devs and Players.

but a defense has to have a chance vs a wide range of opponents, not only vs 2% of the guys who can easily swich the team if you adjust your defense in that way. but spartons post implied this so i guess, we can expect something soon.
and to be fair, the PI hype took a big hit, so it's not as annoying as it was some weeks ago.
just one other thing to discuss/adress:
does anyone else feel that ascension is somewhat out of line? i think a 50-60% rise of stats would be more reasonable than doubling them.

So is the fact that other buffs can be stolen from a toon with PI a bug or working as intended?
Sup Yup!!! Honestly, I wasn't even replying on top of your comment, that was my personal opinion about PI, I just like the way PI works now.
I think that it's still strong, since itself can't be stealed and prevent any debuffs to be applied. I just like that you now can, at least, steal the buffs from a char that have PI.
Taking Sparton's comment into account, I think it's a bug. But this is one bug I like so far.

.... aaaaaaccctttuuallllyy..... I'm finding the Angel talismans more annoying :) You can't tell where they are until a toon starts cleansing and healing.
Ok I thought it was a bug, so I must be dumb because other than bugged stealing or Aces high I have not come up with a way to remove endure from toons with PI. I just usually have to wait it out.
But in fairness - despite many G/A souls I still don’t have Eda so it’s tough for me to experiment and test how to deal with PI.
No mention of aces high ed skills not working properly? and about souls not grouping correctly in the book of souls?
Perfect immunity is a perfect pain in the ass....
As Slauki said, going with an attack team with 3 Edas with endure and a Pharaoh is just like cheating, you just can't lose any battle, since if any of the Edas do his power move, it gonna be extended for everyone.
Also this "ability" makes PvP fights longer and boring, since it's not really a challenge, it's more like a break in a game and PvP system full of them already. The "Perfect solution" would be to make it last just 2 or 3 rounds...
Anyway, is always great to see this tweakings from time to time to balance weak chars. Talking about weak chars, I would like to see some love for the Trooper soul characters, the Warlord and Bastion primarily, since for me they seem more a 4* character, and not 5* at all...
That and fixing the current bugs(extra turns, buffs stolen even with PI, prisoner won't blocking passives, etc) will made the game better for everyone.
Okay now, what if there was a character who was designed with a basic or power move that will specifically remove PI?
And why not just limit the numbers of repeated chars that can be used on PvP? I always find funny that on most RPGs related games, you can have multiple copies or a unique char, here on LotB for example, Clairvoyant, she is a Eternal, there is only one Clairvoyant, she is a named char, that you can bring 3 if you want.
Characters with standard designations as "names" are ok in my eyes, like, Desert Guardian, ok in your Desert Palace I suppose you have hundreds of Desert Guardians.
I imagine a party with 3 Edas...

For all this talk of three eda has anyone actually tried it? Last time I looked into it one of the Eda's who grants perfect immunity for two turns overrides the infinite perfect immunity for other eda's so as long as that "glitch" is in effect seems like a very poor defense to me.
i can even name you players that use this, because i see them on my defense tab. and i saw some screenshots on facebook so it's working for sure. but most people cannot abuse it because it's hard enough to get one eda, not to talk about three ;)
i could abuse my 3 beelzebubs, but damn they are pretty useless unfortunatly...

But do you see the third eda is missing her PI. I think as long as this exists the strat is too risky to attempt. You could have the first Eda remove PI on the remaining Eda's.
I wouldn't consider 3 edas very strong attack wise I would think you could easily build teams to last the 2 turns and then easily take them down. I thought the argument was against 3 of them with endure they could possibly keep making them last forever because of the extend beneficial effect? I am a bit late to the discussion so am I missing something?
The real fun will begin when the buffs to SOL Eddie are implemented. Use him with 3 Edas with endure. Throw endure on him as well with immunity and maybe he even gets PI. Watch him rip away beneficial effects on the opponents and then 3 gunner allies will fill the fury meter quick and extend his teams beneficial effects with his fury. Then even using energy talis to steal power won’t help. Can’t wait.
like ezz points out this is just a big exploit, this tactic is broken imo. yeah they are not such huge damage dealers, right, but pair them with an VHE who has endure or an AHE a pharaoh and you are in very good shape to kill most guys after 2 turns. such things shouldn't be possible since this a team vs everybody or at least vs 95% of guys. and once the bugs are fixed, it will work as described, so right now the bugs might prevent a 100% exploit temporary. if nothing is changed it will be a 100% exploit soon.
Now I see you guys are talking more from attack stand point then defense stand point but again I don't see this being a big exploit with the characters you listed. With VHE there is no real way to remove opponents beneficial effects so just becomes a stalemate. Though after reading SOL Eddie changes this may become an issue. While this could be considered exploitable I do not see an issue since arena rush is based around speed just like I didn't see the big deal with Viking Eddie an update or so back when it granted 100% extra turn so you could generate infinite fury. I tried that once and it took so long and I got bored I couldn't see it ever being effective. Possibly same thing with this offence while it may be exploitable I am not sure it would be as expedient to become effective in the arena for Saturday rushes. I could be wrong though I concede to any of the higher level arena players weighing in on this.

Edit: Do anyone have the same bug for months in Arena that it do not show your wins for last week and best? And counterattack and revenge seems still buggy.. if i attack with a char my Sentinel Mayan Priestess attacks often alone and then i have my turn with her.. that's good for me but it seems that it is not supposed to be. The same with red undead rescuer with counterattack..
It is a bit strange... ^^
