Question on removing effects

I'm not 100% sure how this works and tryin to understand the mechanics better.

Let's say we have the Sentinel Hierophant with his passive that grants Endure and Prefect Immunity.
So, in the Gauntlet I'm building a team to deal with him, and not sure if both of these things are true.
1. You can disable the passive, which will stop those from taking affect, to remove them if it's disabled after the first turn.
2. You can just remove those effects directly with any remove beneficial effects, or at least reduce duration, like with Phantom of the Opera's Stained Glass or the Inspiration talisman.

Just not sure if how they get the effects matters when it comes to removing them.
