Whelp, that was a long long wait for something that is just not worth the effort.
All those hoops to jump through in a game that already demands too much time of your device. Look like I'm sticking to the other bosses for the foreseeable future.
Well the update dropped, and here are my thoughts:
Cernunnos feels really, really bloated mechanically and is dependent on RNG more than any other raid boss so far. To do efficient damage to Cern, you need to hit them 9 times with the correct damage type that they are vulnerable to that turn. In addition, they also can instantly kill you randomly with their fury. Though this requires Might, Cernunnos can't be silenced, so they will eventually get Might unless you are constantly draining power from them. It's just a lot right now, and I am not sure how to feel about it all. In time I am sure we will devise strategies, but this boss feels like it was designed for characters and talismans we don't have access to at the moment.
Besides that, everything else in this update is pretty neat. I am looking forward to August to see what we may get from the new upcoming Mega Event featuring Cern.
Tip for Cernunnos - anyone who can remove Damage Type Block Effects (e.g. Gunnr's passive, Sentinel Banshee's basic) seems to then allow hits of any damage type to count towards the 9 hits needed to unlock extra turns and inflict more damage, so removes the RNG element (same thing is also true for circumventing Amaterasu's damage type block)
Marks nerfed for Amaterasu? Now doing half the damage...

I don't like the new rewards for the raid bosses.
Getting clan soul frags from all levels before was good - to me they are more useful than getting the norse god frags as they give you ironite.
Fighting Amaterasu and Cernunnos and mainly getting norse god frags to me is not worth the effort. I have all the Norse god characters and over 1000 frags of each spare to use for sands of blood.
I guess that most people who will be killing Amaterasu X and Cernunnos X will be experienced players who are in a similar state.
I like this update except for the rewards for raid bosses. Each raid boss should drop something that is unique to them so there's a reason to fight each of them. Instead, there's no reason to fight Odin since there's nothing unique about his drops, so it's strictly better to fight Baphomet for the same rewards.
I completely agree with the two previous speakers. Some raid bosses are so unattractive that they are only used as a means of obtaining spacetime tokens and completing tasks at the events.
Also, just to add the change to Amaterasu in terms of halving the damage that Marks do only adds to the above; the teams I had prepared for Amaterasu now take twice as long (some of them no longer 100% guaranteed because they relied on a quick finish before Amaterasu's fury built) and I just don't see any point in reworking my teams to keep hitting Amaterasu X after she has been unlocked as the rewards aren't worth the time when I can just keep hitting Baphomet for better and faster rewards. One possible solution would be to spread all rewards across all raid bosses but alter the amounts based on the 'difficulty' of that boss?
The biggest problem with the game now that my years-long campaign for an awakenable Sandworm character has come to fruition is: the lack of Warrior and Assassin Sandworm characters. Get with it, folks, and give the people what they want!
It would be great and right to give a guaranteed reward for the first passage of bosses. For example, 15 ironite is a nice bonus for those who do work on the way to the 10th boss.

Has anyone received passionate shards from awakening souls?
Not me. I opened at least 20 awakening souls.
I never get new shards from souls. Dunno if odds are lower than for other older awakening shards.
I've opened about 10*99 packs of souls and no one passionate shard
Only one so far.
I just get awakening souls I've earned them from events (rather than buying them from the store) so I doubt I've opened a huge amount. Still I have to agree that others shards seem to have a better drop rate

I had a bunch drop when I opened two and a half stacks of Awakening Souls... maybe 7 or 8 I think across them all? Enough to awaken Charlotte anyway... Sorry if I ended up pinching them all!
Thanks for the intel. That makes a little more than 3% drop rate, so roughtly 200 awakening souls to awaken Charlotte.
Probably about right. I know I had 0 drop from one stack and I think equal amounts from the second full stack and the half stack, so it's pure RNG as ever.
