It is possible one character could be a new Eddie alongside FFE, but I highly doubt any of the seasons will feature that.
I only got caught up in a couple battles in SS and SSS... against multiple fully awakened characters... having never faced some of them up until then.
As has been posted, it's kind of shitty to pop new stuff into the gauntlet before players have ever seen it.. but whatcha gunna do.. they keep doing it.
Only hardest battle is second battle in SSS...beware...
