As shit as i am in the game (and pvp) the prisoner doesnt give me much trouble tbg, my passives are just allianxe general and nomad's attack buffs, and (if) im lucky and the shit ai didnt attack blue soldier, i win!
but i assume it muat be pretty annoying for those running red bat, red troll, red/purple cotd, etc...
Is that you will lose 100% of the time. And I'm not speaking of Nicko's defense, wich is pretty damn hard even if he doesn't go first 'cause you know, multiple hits, freeze, thief, etc.
Prisoner negates everything you need to survive: it negates Repel, so no immunity, wich means you will be frozen/taunted/blinded/stunned; it negates Siege, so no buff reduction for enemy team; it negates shields, wich mean no 50% damage reduction; and also negates Block, so no use having a toon to sacrifice and get the hits. So yes there's nothing you can do buth watch and lose. Nothing Personal but it's infuriating to see Nicko's team faceroll you with 3 toons.
Even when prisoner is 2nd round it's difficut to win, because he's usually grouped with troll or a dog/hellround with repel, so you can't CC the other team, and do 50% less damage 'cause shields. You need a relaly fucking awsome strong attack team todo enough damage to kill him, wich we know it's a suicide tatic. And when it's his turn, guess what?
If he stays like it's now prisoner defenses will be insta-skip. At least make it so that the team can't do perfect hits if he blocks a passive, even if the team has some perfect hit buff.
Hate might be too strong, but I'm not having fun with it for all the reasons already stated since the most recent tweaks. Despite consistent playing I'm going backwards in my trophy count, which is obviously frustrating. I was going to pump a little ironite in this week to see how far I could go, but not with this setup. Feels like pissing in the wind.
I am aware that these changes are probably not the final rules of engagement (WHEW!) so I provide this info to be helpful. It's a game, it should be fun. I don't think the PVP setup is very fun right now. But it was and will be again I trust.
Will be interesting to see what Sparton says today and how quickly they can change the points before more people quit.
I have probably gone back and forth with Pizza Friday 20 times the last day. I'm not exaggerating
Figure I went first 50% of the time, though it seems like 20 % :p. He has a Prisoner.
I have - up to this point - not lost once as an attacker
What you're more frustrated with is the Prisoner/Perfect hit combo and I won't lie - it's a tough one to beat
And I have to ask myself why I've gone back and forth so much cause this dude plays NON STOP
No way I'll take him in the end cause always burnt out by Monday! Had almost a thousand point lead he erased. He's a machine...
Hey guys, I'm carlos. I have to say that without a red troll or a prisoner is really hard to stay in the top ranks. And finally im traveling with my family and I dont have internet conection all the time so be kind to me :D
Nicko why have you put my name up on someone else's quote !
Looking back at your posts looks like that quote was from frost
Thanks for changing nicko :)
I'm done. No more PvP.
No skill required, no chance. 100% lose if you don't go first.
Retard.
yeah i agree with the critisizm, the last days pvp was not fun at all since you almost cannot move forward if you are not spending ironite like mad.
and i refuse to invest too much into that. i started with 1900 and now i have 2034, and i expect some more revenges. this is really pointless, sice i played as much and as optimal as i could.
the only change that was really good, was the change to 60 minutes, since i don't feel to be slave of pvp anymore ;) but i'm sure they will see the critisizm and react appropriatly...
Yep. Woke up at around 20 this morning. Played my 10 sow. Got up to 8 or 9. Just checked here at work and I'm back to 18. Will prob be right back were I started by the time I get home. Like riding a seesaw
The solution would may be banned characters!
It would also help build creative teams by people (teams that are not bred bat with blue bat, GR and CG)
Can you replay the matches when you lose? I was reading people saying "ohh you defeated my team because you went first and character x killed my XX and then this and that happened"
And how do you test your defense team?
I test the defense on auto play because AI sucks and almost never gives you perfect hit on auto and I think that's why your defense will almost always loose against attacker who is good at making perfect hit most of the time. If my defense holds on auto then it's kinda good
And I don't record my matches, they are so many... don't have the time.
Everybodys talking about the prisoner, but what about that perfect hit passive. Only two characters (that I know of) have it. Both gunner/assassin. Not any easy one to get. That's the real killer. I sure wish I had one. What do the devs do about it though? How do you nerf a passive?
Sorry I just can't believe you beat Nicko going second round.
The Deert Rider passive is making the talisman procs to proc 100% in all toons, dunno if that's a bug, I think yes, so if you don't go first his golden son will freeze you and steal a ton of fury, filling the bar. Prisoner will do a ton of damage and stun somneone for 2 rounds, and almost guarantee a kill for Tailgunner fury. At this point you are frozen, have 1 or 2 toons in the verge of death, Tailgunner will use fury and you are pretty much dead. Even if Tailgunner attacks first your entire team will still be frozen when golden son turn comes.
So yes no way you could beat nicko's team going second round.
No comment from LOTB regarding the point system that is ruining the play just more talk of evening up a system that at its heart is random with soul drop and who goes first.
I'm below where I started the week and fed up of losing points every night like many others have discussed here.
As mentioned before if it's not changed this week I will be quitting because it proves that this team do not listen and are incapable of quick changes to correct there mistakes
Not sure if you have seen this? http://forum.ironmaidenlegacy.com/sh...oken-mechanics
Probably not the answer you want right now but Sparton has replied and said there will be some discussion about characters. I would have thought your concern would surely be addressed as well?
If you recall, Sparton said that the team doubted these changes would work permanently but they wanted to test them anyway. I'm not a fan of the most recent changes (except the increased time it takes to get more SOW), and have expressed that, but it hardly seems worth knocking the dev team too hard over an experiment in a beta program.
Yes Perth I did see that thread about evening up the characters and this highlights my point about trying to even up a game that relies on chance.
I also saw that it's not permanent but as soon as I saw the changes on Friday morning I could see there thinking was flawed and posted my thoughts which have not been replied to by the team
Over the weekend more players could see the flaws in it and posted comments
The team has not responded to this only adding a post about there views for the future
This is called deflecting what I would like to see is an owning up to their mistake and making the changes quickly rather than promising so much and delivering little
Please do get over yourself. They're experimenting as BillLion said and remember it's a beta, not a finished product yet. I would much rather them spend their time improving game mechanics and fixing bugs than spending all day on the forums answering every damn question.
And if you want the devs to apologise for making changes in order to improve PvP then I believe you are SoL! (Shit outta Luck)
I like that the sands refresh every hour but it does make it more of a "whoever spends most wins" type scenario. I think awarding sands of war in the victory rewards would help this issue and certainly be more useful than earning SoT when playing PvP.
Firstly I never asked for an apology
Secondly I know it beta and agree they need to try things out this was pointed out in my post on Friday.
The changes according to Sparton was to make it less of a pay to win game I am pointing out that it is a complete failure on that front.
Is that your idea of constructive criticism? Sure right now it's pay to win but telling people they are failures won't help improve this feature.
Sure the communication from the devs is and has mostly been pretty poor but that doesn't mean there isn't someone who stays on top of the posts in this thread.
We have to remember that the creators of this game are in for the money. The more they make us players pay to play the more $$$ they get :(
I see it this way: some of us pay in game to play and the money goes to those who keep the game going. No money, no honey as they say.
I don't know if it's the point system or just the nature of these types of pvp games, but it's already becoming obvious that your gonna have to spend a decent amount of ironite to make top 5 or possibly even top 10. Once it goes live you can probably forget about top 25 too. It's a good thing for the game I guess. They need to generate revenue to keep this thing going. It'd make things pretty interesting if there were no sow refills though.
I wonder what changes, if any they have for us this week. This point system is making me dizzy. For the last three days I've been around 20 when I log in. I use up my sow and get around 15. Then back to 20. Then back up to 15. Then back down to 20. Then up to 15. I can see everyone else around me that's also conserving ironite. We've all been playing hopscotch around each other. So on Saturday if we dont have other plans, we'll all be spending whatever's needed to stay in the top 25. I might just make other plans.
Would be nice if also assassin/gunner rare souls could be purchased with iron coins in the arena shop.
I'm not in the beta (and don't plan on hacking up a vpn connection to get in the beta) but from the feedback it sounds like the defending team is generally at a disadvantage. How's about either making the AI do perfect hits more (on a par with or better than an average human player) or always having the defending team go first?
For those who aren't playing pv(ai)p yet!
You play 4v4, 1 Eddie (no switchig that I miss so much :) + 3 creatures.
The team that goes first has 2 power pts. The team that gets to go second has 9 power pts at it's disposal. Imo, 2 power is low, 3 could get me going but ok. So if you get the first turn, more or less, no power abilities for you. Unless...well, you figure it out.
Team that goes first does substantial damage, going second makes you wanna heal. If Eddie dies, fight goes on.
AI controls your defending team. Hmm, about the AI... enough is allready said. You should test your creatures on autoplay to see what moves it favours. Perfect hits can be obtained with passives, and it helps.
Someone wrote well before - stun, freeze, taunt are buggers, but that's why we like them. Pick your fights if you want your coins, go for higher ranking person if you want glory and points and advance in ranking for better rewards at the end. Watch for affinities while attacking if you can and good luck.
I think everyone should tunnel into the arena. Because if nothing else it's fun and a free ironite at the end of the week (if you lack that from secret locations like I do, bought for real money just once 6.24$ 675 ironite on sale). The higher your ranking is, more ironite for you, and if you are really persistant some rare souls and skill shard(s) perhaps. And iron coins you get for your victories, depending on your ranking, buys you 1 skillshard per week and some rare souls (you can even buy legendary 1 per month), 1 per week.
After 4 days of playing. Not much of a success, lack of beasts that count and bad choice of talismans, noob :D
I just want to say sorry. I decided to go for top ten this afternoon. I had to work with the system we're given. Which means I ended up attacking the same people over and over today. I made my goal, but I felt like a dick doing it. It sucks that I have to knock other people back so much in order to advance. I probably pissed some people off today. I apologize, I most likely won't bother trying that hard again with this current point system. I hope I didn't screw anybody over too bad.
