Defense Winning Coin Toss Leads to Pretty Immediate loss

So when I play arena and I'm trying to fight, the computer recently has been winning the coin toss a lot more frequently. This has led to me being essentially taken down immediately due to what seems to be the computer always having higher damage even though it should't. Is this normal or do I just need better toons?

The AI works like that the more you play the more you will notice runs of coin toss wins for and against you.
I reckon it's one of the few things that does come out at 50/50 in the end.
Keep working on both your team now, I.e different talisman combinations and skill shards if their not already fully skilled sharded, and other team combinations.
Also work hard to place relics on your team.
