Tried sacing four 2 stars and got this. Game locks up after that. Force quit, restart... Keeps happening. Haven't tried more sacs yet.

It might be that a reward it wants to give you will put you over a limit. That doesn't happen as much now as it used to. But, check your soul, shard, and rune stacks to see if you might be at a stack limit anywhere.
