Wickerman basic attack bug

The Wickerman's basic attack is supposed to have a 40% chance to inflict defense down, but in one run of AMOLAD madness he did not do it a single time. I used his ability at least 10 times in an attempt to get the last tal in the set of flash tals. He is the only toon I have that can lower defense on auto. The pharoah and holy smoke eddie never use their defense down ability. Those flash talismans are so good and would be very useful on my new sekhmet since they are will. I will be angry if I do not get them because of a bug.
