    Wickerman Movie

I just came across the movie The Wicker Man made in 1973. The DVD cover is the wickerman in the Ailing World, has anyone seen it?

An absolute classic. Very unnerving atmosphere and an devistating ending. One of my favorites. BTW there is a sequel made 30 years later called “The Wicker Tree”. Not as good, but still worth a watch.

there was also a US remake starring Nicolas Cage from 2006. I havent seen the original, but the 2006 one was interesting. Im sure the original is superior.

Yes.. just be certain you watch the 1973 version.. NOT the Nick Cage remake from the 00s. 1973. classic.. Nick Cage.. horrible.

    The original version is great.

It has one of my favorite quotes of all time - one that describes my own personal path quite well.

Later, when the trees starting fruiting, it became a very different matter, and the ministers fled the island, never to return. What my grandfather had started out of expediency, my father continued out of love. He brought me up the same way, to reverence the music and the drama and the rituals of the old gods. To love nature and to fear it. And to rely on it and to appease it where necessary.

I liked 1973 way way better. Edward Woodward was later the star of "The Equalizer" series and his character was like James Bond retired with his manners and perfect suits and the Jaguar XJ6. Classy as hell.
