I kept a weak defense the entire week. Much of my ability to complete the challenges was due to those attacking me also running weak defenses because there were none on my attack lists. Some users get it... most at the top just don't. I still finished above Rank 35.

I do the same. I've generally been able to get King II or King III without having to tackle a whole pile of max awakened teams just by getting repeated revenges with players who also post a weak defense. During the arena event, I did notice there were a few more high-ranked players posting soft defences, but not a lot more.
